I got to thinking that the Bears need lots of help on both sides of the ball. That requires draft picks. The Bears have none. So, which player(s) would you trade - in a realistic scenario - that could potentially bring the Bears a windfall of picks, and set them up for possible future success? Jay Cutler Lance Briggs Tommie Harris Devin Hester I think that's it. I think those are the only guys who can return something in free agency. Jay isn't going anywhere. Neither is Lance. Tommie is soured now, and might not be worth as much. And I think Devin is a little overvalued for the Bears, and wouldn't be worth as much on the FA market now that he c…

  3. I am not saying we will, as Angelo has not shown an inclination to move up in drafts, but I wonder if there is an argument for a move up in a couple different situations. Situation one Clady has really risen since he was first mentioned on this board. At one time, there was belief he could be there for us. Now, it is a virtual lock he will not. This situation hinges on Long to a large degree. If Stl takes Long, I think it Clady doesn't make it out of the top 10. If Stl takes DL though, as many mocks have them doing, Long could slip a bit more. Oak is the next team, but Oakland could be looking at McFadden (despite the Fargas deal). I doubt Long slips past…

that doesn't suck? What a pathetic atrocious display of crap and ineptitude.

I had this penciled as a possible loss on the road to 3 and 1, but the Cutler backlash could be something that separates a loss from a lOOOOOSSSS. If we dont win on sunday and the media devils continue to churn this story ( thanks DJ Moore). Do we panic? The Rams could have been 2 and 0 but so could have all the teams.

I've been reading some articles by some naysayers who question the positive outlook many of us have for the Bears offense in 2024. After all, we got a new OC to replace the dumbass we had last year. We added dynamic skill players to our offense. So why are they so negative? Do they dislike the Bears? So, I did some fact-checking. Last year, the Bears offense ranked #18 in points scored (360). Where did Seattle rank? They were #17 (364). I know we have a dynamic set of skill players, but we also have a rookie quarterback. Geno Smith, Metcalf, & Lockett are certainly a good set of players. So should we be concerned that they, with our new OC, were basically tied wi…

I was probably most impressed with one thing from this game...Cutler manning up and saying he should have put the ball on the back shoulder (on the pick to Jeffrey). For all of Cutler's pro's, his biggest inability in my opinion has been his overall leadership qualities and the fact that historically it is everyone but his own fault. Maybe I'm crazy but I felt like in the post-game this was one of the first times he's taken full responsibility for his actions. I also heard an interview from Forte on NFL network earlier this week where he commented that Cutler is a lot more mature this training camp (said it must be the fact that he's married and had a kid). A more m…

Any thoughts????????? The conservative Chicago Bears shocked the football world by acquiring Buffalo Bill and All- Pro left tackle Jason Peters.... and Today, a smiling Lovie Smith announced the Chicago Bears acquired Buffalo Bill holdout tackle Jason Peters and Tampa QB Jeff Garcia. Am I missing something

  10. Wow, what a game. The script writers were on point with this one. Make it look desperate, then hit the climax and then the cliffhanger at the end. So much to unpack (no pun intended).

I am very uneasy with Pace saying that Trubisky is the quarterback going into next year. I understand firing the O-line coach and the "OC". I am looking at the quarterback position. I am making the following argument as a potential win/win/win aka cover our ass scenario Trubisky-we can blame the play calling, o-line, running game, blah blah blah. Truth is this result is not entertaining. And this teams sole purpose is to distract us from reality and entertain us. 17/10 (TD/INT) 63% completion. 3138 yards. Sacked 38 times. 40.6 QBR I never liked Cutler because he just didn't look like he cared. Trubisky I think my be a little too soft. Pace isn'…

I know there has been a lot of buzz during this last few game stretch where Trubisky has looked better. So I tried to see if anything stood out in this most recent 3-game stretch that was something we have not seen, at least from a numbers perspective, in his entire career. I did find one set of numbers that stood out. In 44 games where Trubisky had 20 or more passing attempts, he has only had a completion percentage over 70% in 14 games. 3 of those have occurred in the last 3 weeks. That really stood out to me. Obviously, the coaches have made some changes to make things easier on him, which has had led to some promising results. I however do not know if it wi…

Are we just saying he's done, or is there some minor chance he could play, let's say in the Super Bowl? Did we officially shut him down the rest of the way per league rules?

There was one play Harris made today that caught my eye, and it wasn't either of his two sacks. It was the tackle he made on the RB about 12 yards downfield. In the past we've seen him hustle to make plays after the RB got behind the Dline but he hasn't done that much this year, at least not running that far downfield IIRC. Tommie has been practicing during the last few weeks and seeing him run like that, along with a couple sacks is making think that perhaps he is getting back to 100%. We'll find out next week.

Does he belong in the pantheon? Does he belong in the HoF? Let's make a quick comparison... Player A: 12 seasons, 179 games, 19 sacks, 7 INTs, 0 TDs, 12 Fumble Recoveries (FRs), 1488 tackles*, 2 DPOY, 10 Probowls Player B: 12** seasons, 180 games, 41.5 sacks, 22 INTs, 2 TDs, 15 FRs, 1358 tackles***, 1 DPOY, 8 Probowls Player C: 9 seasons, 119 games, ??? sacks, 22 INTs, 27 FRs, 1020 tackles****, 2 DPOY*****, 8 Probowls Which player is better? A case could be made for any of the three. They're that close. Player A is Singletary. Player B is Urlacher. Player C is Butkus. It's sort of an apples to oranges discussion considering defensive sch…

  18. First of all, the Bears staff knows more about the health of Kevin White than anyone else. So I'll hope for now he's healthy. If so, the Bears suddenly have turned a position of question into a position of perceived strength. -White (6'3", 216lbs) will be presumably be the split end (X). He's big enough and fast enough to shake off press coverage from the line. He's also the most athletic, and the guy who likely gets the one on one ball when Glennon is under fire. -Wright (5'10, 191lbs) seems perfectly suited for the slot (Y). When he was under Loggains in TN, he worked slot and put up 94 catches for over 1000 yards. That likely gives him the leg up in the…
