Detroit lost both starting tackles, there best pass rusher, there other DE and there starting safety. They added Jones/DE. Quin/FS and Bush. Bush is an upgrade but lost in the exchange of other players. Stafford does not play well under pressure.

  2. RT @adamjahns: They’re not signed —at least not yet —but Marc Trestman says he expects Lance Louis and Jonathan Scott to compete for jobs next yr. #Bears

  3. Started by adam,

Ok, so I tried to obtain the current cap hits for 2013, project some other moves with estimated cap hits and I came up with this: http://www.pcgamingtech.net/bears/cap.htm Unless I am totally off, we would have 7 roster spots to fill and have spent around 123M. With the cap being around 121, and with us having around 3M carried over from last year, we should have around 124M to spend. With the rookie pool needing to be around 5M, it is hard to see us getting to 116-119M before the draft with only the rookies left to sign. Can you check out the link and let me know if anything looks crazy. My scenario has the Bears re-signing Melton with a 5M cap hit this…

per the Lions' twitter feed. This means that they probably take Joeckel/Fisher at #5.

If we can sign either one of the two guards Moore or Boothe, re-sign Urlacher & Roach what do we do in the draft?

For all you Webb lovers, it ok, he wont be cut. He will either be the RT or swing tackle. Bushrod is an upgrade, the Bears believe that, Kromer believes that. There are in a better position to judge that than we are. We got better today and thats all that matters.

  12. Emery pretty much confirms what we already knew - with these two moves, the Bears get a lot of draft flexibility and are more likely than they otherwise would have been to trade down. I hear the 49ers have 14 draft picks - might be a good place to start. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,4807079.story

I am watching the Saints v Giants 2012. Bushrod is beast in run and pass blocking. On runs he has great foot speed and in pass blocking the only time Pierre Paul or Umenyora have gotten any pressure is Umenyora bull rushed him and had the advantage but Bushrod fought back and Brees was not touched. Webb would have been on his arse and Cutler being carried off. Only watched to halftime so far but left tackle will not be a concern next year on this performance. I remember last time we played giants Webb was killed. As a foot note Bennett was run blocking well and caught a TD and ran a good route.
