I just saw this on ESPN that T. Holt has asked for his release from the Rams. Hopefully, Lovie will have JA pursue him once his is.

Chicago Bears must pursue Terrell Owens now! Forget all the lame excuses, wide receiver a no-brainer Rick Morrissey | In the wake of the news 4:16 PM CST, March 5, 2009 The sports talk shows in town were hyperventilating Thursday over what appeared to be one of the great debates of our time: Should the Bears pursue Terrell Owens? This is some sort of trick question, right? If the Bears had two or three halfway decent receivers, this might be a discussion. If the Bears had an offense that was the envy of the NFL we might be talking about whether it's prudent to bring in a problem child like T.O. If Kyle Orton's steady hand at the tiller was such that he…

Bowman moving to free safety One of those players is 2008 fifth-round pick Zackary Bowman, who is being moved from cornerback to free safety, a position he played at New Mexico Military Institute before transferring to Nebraska. The 6-1, 193-pounder possesses speed and athleticism, but has struggled to remain healthy. He suffered knee injuries in each of his final two seasons in college and then sustained a season-ending biceps injury while making his NFL debut last Oct. 19 against the Minnesota Vikings. In that game, Bowman scored a touchdown by recovering a muffed punt in the end zone and then later preserved a 48-41 victory by intercepting a Gus Frerotte pa…

    1. Eben Britton, RT, Arizona ---Shaffer? Great. He isn't the long term answer, though. 2. Paul Kruger, DE, Utah ---Good against the run and can get to the QB some, too. 3. Brandon Gibson, WR, Washington State ---It's been said the FO likes this guy. 3. David Bruton, FS, Notre Dame ---Smart player and big hitter to compete with Bullocks. 4. Asher Allen, CB, Georgia ---We need CB's after Bowman's been moved to S. 5. Marko Mitchell, WR, Nevada ---Big WR at 6'4, 213 who is a good blocker. 6. Tony Fiammetta, FB, Syracuse ---Arguably the best FB in the draft. 7. Mike Reilly, QB, Central Washington ---To compete with Hanie for the #2 job. 7. John…

Per Rotoworld This is as of 20 minutes ago so I believe this is a quote after Cutler and Pace joined the Bears. Still, I think Holt or Matt Jones would make tremendous sense and would allow the Bears to go with 3 WR's and Davis as a 4th and whomever as the 5th (Lloyd or someone that could contribute on special teams like Riddeau?) and would allow the Bears to take a high upside project at De in the 2nd round (a guy that has the tools to get to the QB) or to fill our need at the safety position or if a good tackle or guard prospect fell we could tab them and let them develop. If the Bears ignored the character issues with Jones or talked to him and dec…

You got to admire the boldness. My guess is any move up would be to acquire a WR or tackle. Pompei later speculates how the Bears are very interested in Robisnkie. Robinskie definately would be a nice fit along with Bennett and Hester. My guess is that if they trade up, its to target a 1st round tackle that slides or to grab a WR like Robinskie/Nicks. Otherwise I could very well see them trading down if Britts/Robinski/Nicks are off the board (this would be easier to do if the Bears sign Holt cause they'd have even less pressure to grab a WR super early and could make adjustments of what they picked based upon the way the draft unfolds).

http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/mul...lip=Y&rn=16 2 things: 1. It looks like he's having fun out there. When they were all throwing into the net from the goal post, he was slamming his hat down and laughing a little. That's good to see he's getting along with Hanie and Basanez. 2. The way the ball comes out of his hand is just so smooth and powerful. It seems like Basanez's throws take forever to get there, Hanie's are alright, and Cutler's are just on the money 100 mph.

I previously saw the report from some guy (I think on CNNSI) talking about Nicks, Britt and Harvin slipping out of the 1st round. Honestly, I didn't think much of it. While it may have been on SI, it was still just the opinion of one guy, which seemed to run counter to what most everyone else thought. Now I am starting to wonder a bit more. I read the other day Rick Gosslin's 1st mock draft. I am not saying Gosslin, or anyone out there is so perfect they know for a fact what will happen, but Gosslin does have a pretty damn good record, though he will have more versions after this one. But in his 1st mock, all three of those WRs failed to be drafted in the 1st …

I touched on this in another thread, but I think the Bears have to be at least considering drafting two WRs this year if the value is there. I'm sure they would still love to add a veteran (particularly Holt), but the amount of research the Bears have put into scouting the WRs suggests to me that they would probably be interested in getting a couple new bodies in there. So, if that's the case, which two WRs do you draft and where do you think you can get them?

  15. So not only did everyone know what we were doing offensively...evidently they knew what we were doing defensively last year. This was out of Biggs 10 thought on Bears piece.

This team will probably not win a game the rest of the year without Cutler. This team NEEDS Cutler. His big arm is the only thing keeping the defense honest. Clausen. LOL. Crazy how bad he looked.

The TD may have been on him, but damn, given his rookie status and lack of reps...the kid did well. I hope something to build on as we progress forward. Bears!

First I have to admit the free tequila shots at the bar made this game feel better than it was. Cutler: With another Oline combination in front of him against a strong pass rush threat he kept his composure and stayed within the game plan. Overall a good game with no turnovers. Oline: I think these guys were the cause of all the conservative play calls early in the game. With interior line of Omameh, Slauson, and Ducasse I believe Gase didn't want big mistakes early and allowed the Oline time to settle in and get a feel for the inside pressure the Vikings like to bring. Later on he opened up the play calling. RBs: Forte is still a good RB bu…

From NFL.com: I would be interested in the guys I bolded (assuming some of the other top guys are franchised). Obviously can't all of them, but one or two (besides Alshon) would be awesome.
