Since some people think we are smarter than most GMs lets put that to practice. First question. With the Urlacher controversy, WOULD WE SIGN URLACHER FOR THE 3.5 MILLION HE WOULD HAVE SIGNED FOR? My vote would be a matter of valve, the Bears offer him 2 mil to come back. He turned it down. I think that was a fair valve for what he would bring to the table in 2013. I dont think he would make the full season without missing games, therefore If he signed for the 2 mil, I would still draft his replacement in the first couple of rounds. Since he wanted a 2 year contract at 11 mil and would have accepted 3.5 but still wanted two years, I would say not take h…

Adam Schefter ‏@AdamSchefter 3m Rams re-signed G Chris Williams to a one-year deal worth up to $2.75 million.

...couldn't resist. April fools...

I've seen some rumors that the Bears are interested in Arthur Brown. I watched a couple highlight videos, including all of this one and I'm not that impressed. I see him as a 2nd Rd selection because a) he's not that big he gets lost a lot on the field giving up some big plays. He can play with some leverage for his size but I'd say he's a replacement for Briggs and will never be a MLB in the NFL. Ogletree has some of the same issues but he's bigger and stronger and I see him making making more impact plays. Despite the character flaws I prefer Ogletree in Rd 1.

http://newnfldraft.com/2013-nfl-mock-draft-17-24 1. Ogletree 2. Dallas Thomas 4. Carryngton Byndom 5. Tavarres King 6. Chris Jacobsen some of the picks in the mock are whacky.. but hey

Thought this was interesting, since there were only three GMs there. Maybe a long look at Robert Woods (who was reportedly very impressive) or Khalid Holmes?

The latest Watlers mock draft, has us taking #1 Arthur Brown/LB #2 Larry Warford/OG #4 Josh Boyce/WR That is a mock I can get behind.Love it.

It will take the end of the season or maybe two years from now to judge what Emery is doing now, but I has to give him kudos for having a plan. He is systematically filling our needs with resigning or someone new. The biggest one is not signing the great Brian Urlacher, which in my opinion, is a good move. He is one year older and injury prone, and not up to par anymore. We filled his spot with a risk but with upside. A productive player until last year, Williams has something to prove. He will never be Urlacher in his prime years but tons better than Urlacher 2013. Anderson is a better choice than Roach,so at least on paper this looks like an upgrade. We got a cheap QB o…

I can't remember this many 1 year deals... Ever since Bennett and Bushrod I'm pretty sure every contract has been one year...

Chicago Bears ‏@ChicagoBears 2m LM: #Bears have agreed to terms with quarterback Josh McCown on one-year contract.

Signed Matt Slauson G Bushrod T Scott T That puts us at 5 guard/Centers and 6 tackles It appears to me that Brown , Carimi, Williams , webb are gonna have to duke it out in camp, with the new rules in camp it prove difficult to do so.

I like this signing the leftside iis done.....keep in mind we have also signed Manrei the OT turned TE to also help chip block to help both sides if needed.....cant wait

RT @BradBiggs: #Bears will sign G Matt Slauson to a 1-yr contract, NFL source says. Ex #Jets lineman fills void created by departure of Lance Louis.

Since we lost Urlacher, Roach and Hayes and gained Williams and Anderson and maybe another in the draft or FA are we better or the same at our LB core? Williams Anderson http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=playe...p;v=B_RVGbhGcvk

He still has us going with Eifert, despite the Bennett signing. He characterizes Bennett as being inconstant and thinks Trestman wants another weapon on the offensive end.

So with the FA moves we have made are we gaining on the other teams we play or will they be trying to catch us? IMHO we have had a powerful FA run this year sure we lost Louis(G), Davis/Speath(TE), Urlacher/Roach/Hayes(LB), Toeania (DT)Moore(CB),and Campbell at QB....but we have done well with the guys we signed like Bushrod(OT) Bennett/Maneri(TE), Anderson/Williams(LB)and i think we only need a few more players to once again get to the superBowl...we need s speed WR DT,LB and a G PACKERS Lost....Jennings/Driver(WR)Woodson(CB),Walden(LB),Crabtree(TE) Gained....Tavecchio(K), LIONS Lost....Florence(CB),Hill(DT),Avril(DE),Cherilus(OT),Durant,(LB) …

Link @caplannfl 4m Lance Louis agreed to a one-year deal, 3-4 other teams were interested, but it came down to the Dolphins giving him a chance to start.

So the Browns signed J. Campbell and will soon depart with Colt McCoy. Do you see him as a backup for the Bears? If not then who would be the best fit?
