MccClellin to LB? Bears head coach Marc Trestman added: "We'll look hard at Shea doing other things besides being lined up at defensive end. If that means moving him to a linebacker position as we move forward, that will be under consideration as well. But there's no doubt as Phil and I watched the tape this week that he's capable of more, and we'll work toward that as we move forward. He's got it in him. It's our job as coaches, and it starts with me, to get him in a position to be more successful, and we feel confident we can get that done."

After spending most of their air time praising the Chargers and giving them credit for fighting through multiple injuries ESPN analysts were lost when talking about the Bears, especially after the game was over. Did you know the Chargers had to play with several backup Oline players? Poor Chargers. Did you see the Chargers were missing two of their top 3 WRs? Blah blah blah... let's play some football! Oline: Not a whole lot of goodness here with plenty of mistakes all the way around but for the most part the offense was effective enough in the run game and passing game. Ducasse again lined up at LG so he'll be on the bench when Grasu returns leaving Omam…

  5. Now i want to say this is it me saying this or can our running game improve. I have looked at game and have seen that our line has made a few holes that our main workhouse does not see. Forte is not hitting the right OPEN hole at times and does not even try to get outside on plays. Now granted he is getting stuffed in the backfield alot but some plays he just goes this way or that and miss open lanes that can gain 5-10 yards or runs right into the back of our blockers without making cuts at all.

Sorry to hijack board space with this. This is for a 12 team standard league with a flex position. I picked from the 11 spot. Also note that I'll get 2nd position for the breakout free agents. QB- Eli Manning, Sam Bradford RB – Matt Forte, Chris Johnson, Lamar Miller WR – Calvin Johnson, Antonio Brown, Cecil Shorts, JoshGordon, Kendall Wright TE – Rob Gronkowski, Martellus Bennett K – Robbie Gould D/ST - Bengals I'm hopeful...

I like to think we're not going to wait until after the draft to just sign players off the scrap-heap. Here's some guys who are still available I hope like hell we're thinking about trying to sign: Byron Leftwich: What the heck happened to him anyway? He was supposed to be the best free agent quarterback available, and I haven't even heard a rumor about him other then he might resign with Pittsburgh. He's proven he's a good back-up and he'd definitely keep Orton on his toes. Khalif Barnes: At 26 years old, he could be our starting RT for the next 6 years. I'd like to sign him AND St. Clair. Jared Page: At 6-0, 220 lbs, he's considered a big free s…

I think someone else had posted this on the board, but thought it might deserve its own thread. We have talked about Frazier and Wade Phillips and I think a lot of this comes down to whether we switch to 3-4 (vs. staying at 4-3) but if we were to stay with a 4-3 defense, we have two excellent candidates to choose from between Frazier and Fewell. Before someone says the Giants D stunk this year, consider the below and the overall impacts to injuries as well as Fewell's overall track record for having strong defenses: The Giants' defense ranked eighth in the NFL in total yardage in 2013 but took a major step back in 2014 amid season-ending injuries to three of its t…

Just a series of questions, but please feel free to add. Now that the season is over, can we please find out what is wrong with all injured players. Tommie Harris His knee (or knees). How bad are they? If he requires surgery, can he please have it NOW and be at 100% next season. As he did have flashes of brilliance and he does play hard, the only reason for his downturn in numbers and performance must be the injury. I think if he is 100% next year, we will be ok on the inside of the line (with whomever playing next to him) Vasher Did he have surgery yet? Will he be back at 100% Again, why the drop off in production? Urlache…

  12. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/...back-situation/ Bears bungled backup quarterback situation Posted by Michael David Smith on January 24, 2011, 11:09 AM EST Lost in all the talk about the knee injury that sidelined Jay Cutler in the Bears’ NFC Championship Game loss has been the fact that the Bears completely botched their backup quarterback situation on Sunday by foolishly installing Todd Collins, and not Caleb Hanie, as their No. 2 quarterback. When Cutler went out, Collins went in, and he was horrible: He threw four ugly incompletions before Bears coach Lovie Smith yanked him for Hanie. But why was Collins ahead of Hanie on the depth chart…

This is to gauge the thought process of everyone here. This could be used to help move the "Post-FA Everyone Agrees Mock" forward. Calais Campbell is pretty much the #1 DE available that could fit the 3-4, and Eric Berry is the undeniable FS choice available. Since there are no comparable FA QBs, the combo of FA QB & RD1 pick wasn't included. With that said, what is your preference? I chose Eric Berry & Jonathan Allen.

Watching the game last Sunday, I was pleasantly surprised with the play of Josh Beekman. I never saw him pancake anyone, but his performance was solid. The main things I noticed were his quick feet and vision.(particularly when pulling) He's not the road grader type I like, but I think he's going to be a long term player for us. If you asked me about him three weeks ago, I woulld have been indifferent.

So I sent a simple email to the Mr. Hicks care of the Bears a few weeks ago, just telling him that he has become one of my favorite players in the past 60 years. I enjoy watching him and his interviews and told them I thought he seem like just a big guy having fun. In the mail today was an autographed photo. For an old fart it made me feel like a kid and made my day.

Here is a good article from the Sun-Times, if anyone hasn't read it yet (especially if you are one complaining about our FA) it is a good read. You may not agree with it but I do. The Bears are not the only team playing the waiting game in FA. Even the Packers, who had a miserable year and are trying to retool their defence to a 3-4, has only signed one player in FA and he certainly was not a household name. None of us know what is planned, but I would be willing to lay a wager with anyone who wants to do so that we will see our needs filled before the start of camp in July and that we will be a force in the NFC this year. Free agency isn't where Bears shop

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wgMEZhkfwwY...093&index=2 YBR does a great breakdown of the offensive line. And I was saying as soon as I was watching my DVR last night that I don't think we'll see Lance Lewis starting week 2 of preseason. He is by far the weakest link on the offensive line.

A 2014 seventh-round pick, Leno has started 29-of-32 games the past two seasons. He was Pro Football Focus' No. 53 tackle out of 76 qualifiers last season after checking in at 49-of-76 the previous year. The Bears see upside in the soon-to-be 26-year-old and keep in tact the left side of their line. At $9.5 million per year, Leno is the league's 14th-highest-paid left tackle.
