  1. From PFT: League's reaction to StarCaps ruling focuses on disparity Posted by Mike Florio on September 11, 2009 4:23 PM ET In the wake of Friday's decision from the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit that Saints defensive ends Charles Grant and Will Smith will be suspended for taking StarCaps and Vikings defensive tackles Pat and Kevin Williams won't, the NFL's reaction centers on the obvious differences in treatment, and the union's role in letting it happen. "The real losers today are the players on 31 other clubs," NFL spokesman Greg Aiello said via e-mail, "who no longer live under the same rules as players on the Minnesota Vikings -- a resu…

Browns just cut Gordon, is he worth the trouble for a buy-low flier? Will someone pay him? To me, his drug issues scare me away and I'm sure that's what pushed the Browns over the edge. Worth the discussion, at least.

    1. Assume the QBs fly off the chart before most believe they're graded. 2. This year's crop of QBs are all questionable. 3. Bears skip QB at 3. 4. Tons of defensive talent in this draft. 5. The Bears will need a placeholder instead of Hoyer & Barkley. I present to you, Matt Schaub, ladies and gentlemen. Neither Garrapalo nor Glennon has shown production and consistency in the NFL. Schaub has. Also, Schaub won't cost an arm and a leg. To get the shot of starting - after sitting behind rookie phenom Carr, then Flacco, then Ryan - would be a huge bonus to him. Not to mention the fact he won't cost any draft picks. There is virtually no uncertai…

I had one Yahoo draft this year and when I went to the drafting room, the draft loaded and all I had was a blank screen. You could hear the draft going on, noise but nothing popped up on my screen. Does anybody know how I can fix this, or where on Yahoo I can get information to do it? I run the test draft app and dont get crap. I had one draft auto drafted and would like to get it fixed before our draft.

We need to have him out of our divison becasue if he goes to the 49ers he will be throwing to Manningham, Michael Crabtree and Randy Moss. And we play them this year!

We are going to see very little of our starters. I have been checking out games being played on NFL.com and I do not even recognize half of the players in the lineups in the 1st quarter. I think we will see, despite what Lovie has said, that we will not worry about the win as much as escaping with no significant injuries. I also noticed that the Patriots were losing in the 2nd quarter and that they have not won a game in the preseason either. Does that mean they suck? Preseason does not mean anything and those who are worried because we lost our first 3 games are not looking at the whole picture, IMHO.

Which mock drafts are the most reliable? Whose opinion do you trust the most? (I'm getting excited for the draft............. if you can't tell)

#Bears Kyle Long just told reporters he's been told he'll play tackle next year. Doesn't know which side yet. #BearsTalk Do you buy it? Can he improve having a off season to prepare? Looking like we will be upgrading the RG this offseason. Draft or FA, they need more strength to help both Grasu inside and Long outside.

Watching the highlight video of all his returns, and listening to Joniak make the Gale Sayers comparison, got me to thinking... Is Devin Hester already a HOF Candidate? He has literally changed the game. To me, his impact is similar to Lawrence Taylor's. Because of LT, teams now teach the tomahawk chop for the ball, and teams put a premium on LTs. The game changed as a result of his play. Can't the same be said of Hester? Has the game not changed when the Bears play? I have never seen teams purposely kick out of bounds to avoid a punt returner. I have never seen teams essentially give their opponents a 60 yard field on every kick off because the pooch i…

  16. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...man-than-i-was/ Deion Sanders: Devin Hester is a better return man than I was Posted by Michael David Smith on December 21, 2010, 4:07 PM EST Deion Sanders was a great football player, and he’s not shy about saying so: When Sanders was named the 34th best player in NFL history, he was furious, saying it was insulting that anyone could think 33 players were better than him. So it says a lot that Sanders is willing to proclaim Devin Hester a better return man than he was — and the best return man in NFL history. Sanders tweeted on Monday night that Hester is the greatest returner of all time, and he expanded on…

I was talking to a friend today who thinks the Bears barely break the top 5, or fall just outside, in power rankings. He pointed to the schedule said every team the Bears have played, other than the Packers, is bad, and the Bears lost that game. Are they ahead of the following teams? Texans Niners Giants Patriots Falcons

Henry Melton ‏@HenMel Good to be a Bear for another year hopefully we can get a long-term deal done soon! #BearDown #FranchiseTag Hurts a lil but glad to have him around for at least another year. If the reports that Collins will be tendered are true that's 9.7M of the ~12 spent already(on 2 DTs), throw in the the 3-5M for the rookie pool and we're probably in the negative...with quite a few holes to fill. Get to restructurin Phil!

Before the games start to roll, I would just like to say, I really like what Emery is doing. He looks like he had a really good draft this year with 10 rookies finding spots on the team. Last years draft is still a big question mark, but with Lovie still around I suspect he influenced the draft quite a bit. If we get more contribute out of the ones left from that draft, it will be considered an decent draft. He is remaking the roster, and not afraid to get rid of people he drafted if they dont cut it. With DeAngelo, he would just hang on to them because he kept trying to prove there valve. He didnt jack with a defense although being old, is still productive, with adding…

So it's official, we hold the 14th pick in the 2014 draft. I see plenty of reasons to be excited this May when draft day arrives. There could be 4 or 5 QB's drafted ahead of us, 1 or 2 WR's, 1 or 2 OT's, and some talented 3-4OLB/ 4-3 DE's prototypes. That will hopefully allow our major needs to fall into our laps. I created a list of 5 players we may have a chance to draft. Out of those 5, I would be pleased with any of them and know we would have a difference maker. Also, they are not in my order of preference either. 1. Louis Nix DT Notre Dame 6'-3" 340 5.55 Nix is a rare breed of big and athletic, which don't come around often. He would be a 3-4 …
