We got a new dog on Saturday so I was busy entertaining her...I totally thought the game was at 2:15 (mountain time) for some reason and was planning on going over to the bar. I was watching the Donks game when I saw them flash the score at the bottom and was like "well shit" Its probably the first game I have missed in 10 years...and you know what I really don't feel that bad because it looked like one craptastic game...Thank you Bears brass, I am losing my Bear Heart.

The Rodgers drama, now Davante Adams? This may all end up being nothing, but both of them could be gone after this year. I never saw this coming. I didn't realize he was a year older than ARob. I also didn't realize Adams has only had 2x 1000 yd seasons. He is a TD machine, but has only hit 100 receptions and 100 yards twice. The fact that they offered Rodgers a 2-yr extension to make him the league's highest paid player also speaks volumes about how they really feel about Jordan Love.

I think he'll be released or traded...Cleveland is deep at OL and hes become expendable. Hes slated as a center, but could easily switch to G. Hes been on the DL because of (I think) a staph infection and post infection problems. Id love to get him if hes released or trade a late pick for him. Pretty much, there is no downside and hed be a great addition.

Check out this tweet pointing out how bad Maher is (Pineiro is worse). We got rid of Parkey and downgraded to Pineiro. Between 30-50 yds, Pineiro is ranked 37th, why is he still on this team? Only 6 kickers are worse than him for XPs. He has missed two. So if you figure the league average from inside 50 for any kick is around 80%, and XPs are 95%, Pineiro has cost us no less than 7 pts and one loss (LAC). So we are in for a treat on Thursday, a bad kickers duel. The over-under on missed kicks is 2. I have the over.

Maybe I'm showing my naivete here but: in watching Lovie on the sideline, the past many years the closest I ever saw him to even saying anything into the headset or even addressing anyone on the sideline was to pull the microphone down by his mouth, hesitate for a second, then put it back up. On Sunday vs. Bengals, he wasn't even wearing the earpiece right, it was over his cheek or jaw for a lot of the game. Doesn't exactly give me confidence that he's in any kind of control.

Let's do a quick breakdown: Davis - Can't catch, can't run a route without being bumped off, is an average blocker Spaeth - Can't catch, is an above average blocker Rodriguez - Is supposed to have great catching ability, has shown average blocking Why is Rodriguez not in the game instead of Davis and Spaeth?! Everyone is talking about pass-catching TE this and that, like it needs to be drafted or addressed in the off-season, but somehow Rodriguez is forgotten. WTF was the draft pick for if it wasn't going to be a player who gets used? Oh, that's right, he's not even in the TE meetings; he's an H-Back. Whatever the hell that means in the Bears' offense. …

99% of the items on ProFootballTalk.com are a complete waste of bandwidth, this story is probably no different. But it's Bears-related and it's July 1st so we can either keep arguing about stupid stuff or discuss this list. Players 1-75 have yet to be released but I find the fact that Forte barely made it in at 100 curious. I guess he didn't have a great season last year but one would think they'd give him a little more love than #100 out of 100. This story is here. Other Bears making it are Melton and Briggs at 95 and 96, respectively. I'm interested to see if Cutler even makes it. Who else? Peppers, Peanut, Marshall, Gould, Webb?

The easiest thing the OC can do is make sure the play reaches Jay before you need to use a time out. We would have been able to stop the clock and have probably over 2 mins at the end of the Game. Why can Jay have a no. of plays with down and distance that if I don't receive a play by X seconds I can choose a play.

Could've been a reason why we passed on him. I know some had him projected to go to the Bears. Now may miss some regular season time.

After a day of pondering the game... 1. Hester is such a joy to watch! So glad he's back taking kickoffs like so many of us have been screaming for... He is a difference maker there. 2. Cutler had a big boy game. He made a bad mistake in the red zone, but made up for it with pretty much flawless decision making other than that. The playaction to Kellen was a thing of beauty. 3. The NFL has changed in recent years since the "gotta make a football move" rule after a catch. I'm not sure if that verbage of the rule still exists, but I nevertheless haven't been a fan of whatever form of this rule we've had in recent years. I've never liked the rule because I see it time and again taking away legit forced fumbles because the player only took a step and a half after the catch or some nonesense...whatever, apparently not enough to clearly show maintained possesion in today's NFL.
