I know it has been quoted that Holt has said he does not have interest in the Bears and therefore it seems highly unlikely we would land him but who ever thought we would sign Cutler?

I know this may be looking too far ahead, but: I'd love to get back on the road to Detroit and Atlanta being 3-1, but 2-2 wouldn't hurt. To be 2-1 going into that SNF game vs the Eagles would be great, and the crowd will be pumped up. Philadelphia is good, and it'll be tough. If we can be 2-2 after these next 2 games, we could be 4-2 after the next 2 because Detroit is bad and so is Atlanta. So, 4-2, coming home vs a pretty good team in Minnesota, maybe 4-3. Did anyone pick up on something I missed? I didn't hear a definitive answer on that process. From the presser, I took away this. -They wouldn't rule out hiring a Coach first -When asked who would hire the GM and Coach, George and Teddy committed to final say on the GM but no mention of the coach -Multiple times, they commented on Accorsi being hired through the process of finding a GM and a coach -The specifically mentioned that half a dozen representatives for coaches had contacted them, and they add to the list once it's sorted out I don't know if the Bears are going to relegate to a GM the ability to hire the new coach.

Just now getting to listen to some of these inteviews like Pace on ESPN 1000, and the Score. Listening to Briggs was interesting, and gave some insight into the issues that plagued the Bears under Tresman and Emery. Firstly saw no future with team if Trestman and Emery were still there. That there were things that Trestman did that made the players scratch their heads, like having to fight for team captains, vs what Trestman wanted a rotating captain system. Sorry guys. But, I'm tired of Angelo's history of trading down in attempt to stockpile 7th round picks who don't make the team or never make an impact. Can we get a real guy, please? What's wrong with trading UP every now and then to get a legitimate impact player? It takes absolutely no courage to trade down. I heard we'll possibly go as low as 42. Really??? Apparently, since the Bears practice at Olivet Nazarine University, if the Lockout starts leading to a delay in the start of the season/end of training camp, the Bears may be forced to either break camp early or else find a fully new camp location. The Fall semester starts August 27th.

Oakland- W: Nobody really has a book on Caleb Haine yet, and I think we can use that to our advantage early on in his first few starts. The Raiders will likely beat themselves with penalties (They are the most penalized team in the league) and Carson Palmer will throw a few up for grabs on occasion. They do have a stingy defense but I don't fear them. As long as Martz develops a gameplan that fits to Caleb's strengths, we should win this one. We should see plenty of screen plays and more plays inside of 15 yards. I think this one will be a low scoring game that will be won by our defense in the end.
