I watched the run and the replay, and I have to say I'm surprised some of you are so upset about the run. Was it out of bounds? Hard to tell for sure, and even the replay leaves a small amount of doubt (I personally thought he was in). Having said that, it should have come back anyway. Bellamy clearly held on the play. His initial block and subsequent drive were good, but his left arm definitely hooked the defender and restricted him. That should have been a foul. Furthermore, the last run by Jordan Howard definitely should have been called back for a hold. That was egregious. It's nice getting the calls, and its seems like the Bears don't get as many…

Could the Chicago Bears gain from Tampa Bay's losses? By Vaughn McClure Looks like firing Jon Gruden wasn't the only house-cleaning going down in Tampa Bay. The Buccaneers released five veterans, including star linebacker Derrick Brooks. Remember, Lovie Smith used to coach the linebackers in Tampa Bay and Brooks was one of his favorities. More intriguing are two Bucs set to becomes free agents at 11:01 p.m. on Thursday: receiver Michael Clayton and safety Jermaine Phillips. Both are far away in contract talks and would upgrade the Bears at their respective positions. The Bears seem content with what they have, but a tweak here and there sure wouldn't h…

This guy understands it. Call it placation if you wish, but I think this is an honest understanding that he put too much on them, and it nearly derailed the entire season. Martz takes the blame

He made two critical mental mistakes (KC and Denver). I'll take Bell over him as a backup. Peace

Jay Cutler should not be the scapegoat, not jays fault, he should be starting. Gould hopes Cutler is back next year to lead this team. Also said this year is not the Bear way, being a Bear for 10 years this year is not the way Lovie had taught them concerning things getting out of the locker room people throwing others under the bus...etc.... Some points I thought you guys may have been interested to hear

On the Bears website is a 3-part discussion with Pace about the upcoming season. I think it's worth listening to as he gives his insights on shaping the roster. A couple things caught my attention: http://www.chicagobears.com/multimedia/vid...da-806eb0d2fc1b 1) He wants to see physical players on this team. You better not shy away from contact if you want to make this roster and he expects to see that on display in camp. I've never been to a training camp practice but it soundsl like there will be more contact than we've seen in years past with Trestman. 2) He knows this roster has some significant gaps and he's still looking for players to add. …

The way the rules favor QB's, and recievers, for more points, might be good for us if we committe ourselves to the run game. Since most defenses are preparing for this pass happy league in games and practice, we might have an advantage if we can keep running the ball like last week. Most teams might be more prepared for the pass than the run. So lets run at least 30 times against Detroit. Also on defense for us, I am liking the way we play in the red zone the last few years. It seems to me that many of the points scored on us come from outside of the red zone, once their O is in our red zone we see things better. I've said this before "sometimes I like it better when our…

INJURY REPORT AND IMPLICATIONS Green Bay Packers (5-9) at Chicago Bears (8-6) By Michael Nudo An injury at safety has forced Tramon Williams in at cornerback (AP Photo/Morry Gash). BEARS OFFENSE vs. PACKERS DEFENSE The Bears have been without fullback Jason McKie (quadriceps) for close to a month. Jason Davis held down the spot while McKie has been out. Wide receiver Marty Booker (rib) sat out last week’s game and may be ready for action Monday. Running back Matt Forte injured his toe on the opening series against New Orleans but was able to return. Forte hadn’t practiced through Thursday. The Bears may be giving him some extra time off to he…

I'm still not comfortable with McGown at a hit away from being the starter. Im looking at the Jets collection of qbs and got my eye on Mc Elroy. On the street after Trent Edwards there isn't much. Thoughts anyone?

Before the games start to roll, I would just like to say, I really like what Emery is doing. He looks like he had a really good draft this year with 10 rookies finding spots on the team. Last years draft is still a big question mark, but with Lovie still around I suspect he influenced the draft quite a bit. If we get more contribute out of the ones left from that draft, it will be considered an decent draft. He is remaking the roster, and not afraid to get rid of people he drafted if they dont cut it. With DeAngelo, he would just hang on to them because he kept trying to prove there valve. He didnt jack with a defense although being old, is still productive, with adding…

http://blogs.suntimes.com/bears/2010/03/so...ng_imminen.html Wow if that's true, that's awesome! Still not reading too much into this report until it's actually official but I thought he was looking for something like 16 million a year.

1. Assume the QBs fly off the chart before most believe they're graded. 2. This year's crop of QBs are all questionable. 3. Bears skip QB at 3. 4. Tons of defensive talent in this draft. 5. The Bears will need a placeholder instead of Hoyer & Barkley. I present to you, Matt Schaub, ladies and gentlemen. Neither Garrapalo nor Glennon has shown production and consistency in the NFL. Schaub has. Also, Schaub won't cost an arm and a leg. To get the shot of starting - after sitting behind rookie phenom Carr, then Flacco, then Ryan - would be a huge bonus to him. Not to mention the fact he won't cost any draft picks. There is virtually no uncertai…

from some who was there: 1 - Unbelievably cold and windy. I'm not sure how it looked on TV but the wind was really swirling. The weather was our best friend today as Favre looked like he wasn't interested in playing in this weather. 2 - Orton had a nice game. Would have looked better if Moose hadn't dropped a TD. 3 - Play of the game was the screen to Wolfe which led to the TD at the end of the half. This completely changed the momentum. 4 - Nice to see the o-line actually make some holes for the running game. Let's do that again next week. 5 - Dave Toub is my favorite coach on this team. He knows how to adjust and take advantage of his talent. Two …
