Bears | Olsen feeling good about role Comment (0) Fri, 09 Apr 2010 09:52:18 -0700 Sean Jensen, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears TE Greg Olsen said on his Twitter page that he has a great feeling about his role in the team's offense this season. He also said he wants to play in Chicago.

After watching the Bears continue to get stuffed on the goal line, Jerry Angelo better draft oline (once again). I want to see us bring in some big gritty porkers that can control the line for years. Other needs I see DT, Harris is done. CB to bring depth/competition. RB-change of pace back w/ top end speed. DE to keep pressure on competition. This is a guy that a lot of people had pegged at points in his career as a guy with star potential. He never truly emerged into that and he had some off the field problems this past season, but as a whole he's the opposite of any WR's we have. The guy is a beast of a target with good hands and he seems to be a very good red zone target. He clearly is a step down from Holt, but again would be a significant upgrade over anyone the Bears had at the WR position last season. He's also still young enough that he could in fact have a few 900 yard plus seasons in him.

The 49ers are putting ILB Michael Wilhoite on the trading block, reportedly looking for a 6th or 7th round pick. He beat out Chris Borland last year to win the starting ILB job for Fangio. His stats weren't eye popping or anything, but he did start a whole season for a top 5 defense. At the very least you typically won't get a guy in the 6th or 7th round that could come in and compete for an ILB spot right out of the box. If Fangio likes this guy, getting a starting ILB for a 6th round pick would be huge.

Interesting. Michael Sinclair will be the asst DL coach, and comes over from Trestman's staff in Montreal. Remember him? Seahawks and Eagles? All Pro '96 '97 '98? Led the NFL in sacks in 1998 Was DL coach for World Bowl winning Hamburg in 2007 Joined Trestman in Montreal in 2008 and won 2 of 5 Grey Cups with a 3rd losing appearance in the same stretch. Not bad.

Found this highlight reel on Youtube. Great compilation and awesome song. A good inspirational show going into the offseason. Proof that Angelo sometimes knows what he is doing. Also, besides Hester, there is evidence of Brendan Ayanbadejo needing to be kept as long as Hester is in Chicago. In almost every clip he (B.A. #94) is near Hester and helping him break it big. All the guys we've taken at tall. Some similarlity to Seattle's structure of tall vs small. 6'3" for White, 6'4" for "Oscar" Goldman (sorry had to throw in a Six Million Dallar Man reference for us old guys...), and 6'3" for Grasu I'll be curious to see if this possible trend continues.

I was watching Total Access Live on NFL Network yesterday and they said the Bengals were between Stacy Andrews and TJH to use their one franchise tag. It turns out Andrews blew out his knee last week or something, and so it seemed like it was obvious to give it to Houshmandzadeh. Well, Adam Schefter says the Bengals WILL NOT use it on Houshmandzadeh but maybe Chad. This means TJ will be able to test the market. Sounds like good news for us. Thoughts?

With such a turbulent season, revolving O-Line, QB swap, and yet Monty is still putting up top-10 RB numbers across the board.
