The Bears hired Jennifer King as the assistant RB coach. Been in the NFL a few times working for Ron Rivera at Carolina and last year at Washington. I joke but it's nice women at least get chances at becoming serious football coaches. Note: not a former player.

From the Sun Times: NFL to release full schedule Tuesday The wait for the NFL schedule to be released will end Tuesday. A Bears spokesman said the league will use its television station as a platform to release the schedule at 1 p.m. The Bears know they open the season Sept. 7 against the Indianapolis Colts in the first regular-season game at Lucas Oil Stadium. I certainly appreciate everything that Hester has done for this team - he's been the only aspect of this team I am consistently excited about. Maybe I'm nuts, but am I the only one who doesn't think Tice hasn't done a bad job as OC this year? A lot can be said for his OL, but even with that, he's been given dick to work with. We are getting everything we want from the OC. Cutler can audible and he's rolling out now. I would've liked to see more carries for Forte this year, but all around, it's his first year as an OC with 1 legitimate playmaker beside the QB. *prepares for war*

Two years after I started watching Bears football games, the longtime coach decided to re-retire and turn the reigns over to a first time head coach and his defensive coordinator. The resulting season was an injury riddled underacheiving season for the team. Yes. I admit this is a stupid thread. Still, the idea is interesting, and worth a January conversation, even if just for fun. Gronk is apparently telling Brady to go to another team. That implies that he might be willing to come out of retirement to join Brady somewhere without Belichick. They'd want a team with a good defense. They'd want a team that needs a QB and a TE. Ok, so I know this goes without saying and most teams and their fans can complain about the officials, but there is no denying the Bears are on the short end of these calls more times than not. Check out some of these calls/no-calls that have cost the Bears points.

You obviously can't predict other trades, or anything like that. All you can do is pick where the Bears picked. Here's how I would have done it: 1) Laremy Tunsil, LT, Ole Miss - Huge steal here. He was supposed to be top 3, and before all the trade craziness he was probably #1. I think 75% of Bears fans thought he was the pick when the Bears traded up to #9. 2) Vonn Bell, FS, Ohio St - A safety with great coverage ability. Fits what the FO wants to do. 3) Jonathan Bullard, DE, Florida - Value is too good here. Great pick. 4) Andrew Billings, NT, Baylor - He's a monster. Should have gone earlier. When does Mel Tucker join the line? If not, then Emery needs to be fired. An asinine plan to keep the defensive scheme completely intact. Finding a willing coach was even worse. Hindsight is 20-20 but that plan blew chunks. Start over, don't blow another season. Even with new players coming in the draft and FA, it seemed pretty clear that Tucker and his crew can't teach. So why trust them with the next crew?

If this happens, I will be furious. No way they would pass on McKinney, Kendricks, Phillips, Goldman, Fisher, Gregory, AND Collins to get him. Although, I do like his pick in the third. Walter's 2nd is much, much better, but I hate his third rounder when guys like Dawson, Grassu, and Heeney go afterwards.
