if a miracle happens and we dump the garbage in chicago i don't want to bring in a coach with the mantle of GM. even with a cowher or shanny i think it would be a mistake to give either this dual role because it just doesn't work. that is not to say i want to handcuff either of these quality type coaches to have no say in FA personnel or especially the draft. at the least they should work with someone similar to the way cowher worked with colbert in pitt but in any event it is just too much for a coach to fill in both roles by himself and be good at either. also in my opinion we are going to have to shake up the scouting department along with any qualified gm we…

Just wondering, but could our not firing Lovie be more an indictment of Angelo? Could it be that the team is not ready to fire Angelo, but at the same time, not sure whether he will remain long term? If Angelo is in hot water, does it make sense to fire Lovie this year, have Angelo hire a new HC? The more I think about it, the more I think this has a lot to do w/ Angelo. I don't think our owners are ready to fire Angelo, but not willing to allow him to hire a new HC either. That could mean that next year, assuming we don't see big gains, will end in a total house cleaning.

I was laid off 8 months ago due to poor economic conditions and bad descisions in my old company. I was the best at doing what i did in my office. This group of assholes cant do the basics of their job. Make playoffs, draft to continuously build and rebuild team, sign key FAs, make adjustments to get the job done... I mean the list goes on and on. Its seriously a mockery of us the fans. Can u even imagine that Zombie Smith is gonna make 11M dollars no matter what......and i cant even fathom what angelo makes. If i was 30% productive and never disciplined because i already signed a contract for the one time i wasnt a Fuckup it'd be heaven on earth. Screw this organization,…

With the season now officially over (as opposed to when it was essentially over two months ago), what does this team actually need to do in the offseason? It's easy to look at this team and see nothing but holes, but without their first two picks (which hurts both for draft and for trade purposes), it's hard to see how they can fix, or even patch, everything. So, let's look at this team: QB: It'll be Cutler and Hanie, but am I the only one who would kind of like to see a veteran QB on this team? At the very least, I feel like it would be nice to have someone like that on the sideline Cutler can talk to after a bad play who has actually played QB in the NFL. It's not…

does it really matter who we get at DC? Whomever comes in will most likely have no previous DC experience (probably someone from Indy's staff). Unless Lovie can pull a rabbit out of a hat and get Herm Edwards to take the position, he is screwed. Hell, they might as well give Babich the position back. He won't cost them anything extra and they could say that a year away from the position gave him a better perspective. Who cares what the fans think??? They have basically told us to go pound sand so how could bringing Babich back be any worse. Hell, he'll probably have more experience than any candidate they hire. UUUGGGGHHHHHHH!!!!!!!! Peace

1.Colt Mc Coy - His injury in the BCS Championship game has my eyebrow raised and is causing him to slip a little. 2.Jevan Snead- Early in the season he was clearly my number 1 but I question his decision making 3.Tony Pike -He has had an injury filled year and I'm concerned about his durability but when he plays he shows all the skills you like in a QB 4.Tim Tebow- This is more of a ranking for his career but once the workouts start and scouts start to dissect his mechanics his stock as aQB may start to drop and he may be looked at as an athlete. 5Dan LeFevour-I have watched quite a few of his games over the last few seasons and think he is the best MAC qb prospe…

Kurt Warner is expected to announce his retirement on Friday. Could the Bears turn to Martz for their OC position and than offer Warner a job as our QB coach. I realize Warner would have a lot to prove, but he makes quick reads, gets rid of the ball quickly, and would be a pretty good role model for Cutler. Just throwing it out there since evidently NFL network is reporting that Warner wants to pursue coaching or the broadcast booth when he retires.

I really really really like Clements and think he'd be an exceptional hire. The only tough part about trading for our OC (and I'd be okay giving up Moore) is that we don't know if he'll be here for much more than a year so it would be hard to give up a pick (especially one that the Bears felt was a sleeper a year ago) for what might be one year of coaching. That said, I buy into Clements being the guy we can have with Cutler for a long time and I think Clements could fit into a long-term strategy with the Bears. The hard part is, no matter who we bring in, there will be a significant adjustment period where the offense adjusts to the new system and we will see plen…

Lovie will have all his old buddies on board--Martz and Marinelli, who he wated when the Bucs wouldn't let him go. If Lovie can't get it done with this group, he's got to go. And that may well be one reason that JA, in the end, signs off on Martz. As a solid Bears fan, I want the team to do well, and I've got my Kool Aide ready. But like most solid Bears fans, I've got my depression medicine in the cabinet, just in case.

Sure we wee 7-9 this year but we should not have been. Think about it we lost some games by getting blowed out (Bengals,Cardnials, Vikings, Ravens) but we lost some that we should not have like the 1st packers game, the falcon game and two others against the 49ers and the Eagles. You can even make the case that we should have swept the pckers like we did the lions. So we lost 4 games by a total of 4,4,7,7 and had a chance to win in the ending of the game that would be 11-5.

Bears | Briggs expects big seasons for himself, Urlacher Comment (0) Sat, 06 Feb 2010 18:12:43 -0800 Sean Jensen, of the Chicago Sun-Times, reports Chicago Bears LB Lance Briggs said he believes he and LB Brian Urlacher will have All-Pro type seasons next year. "This is going to be a huge year [for Urlacher]. ''He's going to have an All-Pro year, and I'm going to have an All-Pro year, and we're going to lead our defense and our team to a championship," Briggs said. I am elated that the bears are so aggressive. However, I remember not too long ago when I and most other members here were asking for Lovie's head. Then when turner was let go and marinelli was made D coach it seemed that we were accepting that Lovie was a lame duck coach with the rest of his staff. If no playoffs then he goes and someone like Cowher would come in. That made sense. Then we hire martz who's approach is the antithesis of someone like cowher. We bring in Maleuna who is nothing like Olsen (high draft pick). Then we add Peppers who is a great 4-3 DE and not a pure fit for a 3-4. It is like we are adding pieces for the future. To summarize Parcell's an…

http://www.chicagobreakingsports.com/2010/...-marinelli.html I know many of you will post the disdain you have for having the same defense that Lovie wants but maybe with the players recently added and those coming off injury, things could work out for the better. I like that Urlacher is looking forward to the upcoming season and having Peppers on his team.
