Pace looked slow and weak. On one play, it was to be a run between up the middle. Omiyale blocks down inside, while Pace is supposed to move/pull to the right and block the guy who was basically lined up in front of Omiyale. I've been through too many seasons recently with our Oline under-performing and after last nights game I'm done with it. Last year Lovie made a lot of changes but he forgot one and left this guy in place and that's because he's Ron Turner's buddy; came over with him from Univ of Illinois. I called for his head last year when he was whining about how the fans don't know what's going on and the Oline played poorly. He basically said they weren't that bad. I think it's clear he doesn't know what's going on or his standards for success on plays is extremely low. Was pondering the OL situation (probably the Achille's Heel on the Offense right now) the other day and came up with a "what if" situation. Since Pace is having a heck of a time at LT (and I know that is his "natural" position) why not switch him out with Williams? Obviously, Williams is going to eventually move back to LT, where he played in college, so why not go there now? Having Pace on the Right side would help Cutler out a bunch as when he rolls out he looks that way anyhow. Sunday nights game is on NBC, and it appears standard operating procedure is for Bob Costas to interview numerous players/ personnel from each team. if a miracle happens and we dump the garbage in chicago i don't want to bring in a coach with the mantle of GM. even with a cowher or shanny i think it would be a mistake to give either this dual role because it just doesn't work. that is not to say i want to handcuff either of these quality type coaches to have no say in FA personnel or especially the draft. at the least they should work with someone similar to the way cowher worked with colbert in pitt but in any event it is just too much for a coach to fill in both roles by himself and be good at either. also in my opinion we are going to have to shake up the scouting department along with any qualified gm we…

Just wondering, but could our not firing Lovie be more an indictment of Angelo? Could it be that the team is not ready to fire Angelo, but at the same time, not sure whether he will remain long term? If Angelo is in hot water, does it make sense to fire Lovie this year, have Angelo hire a new HC? The more I think about it, the more I think this has a lot to do w/ Angelo. I don't think our owners are ready to fire Angelo, but not willing to allow him to hire a new HC either. That could mean that next year, assuming we don't see big gains, will end in a total house cleaning.

With the season now officially over (as opposed to when it was essentially over two months ago), what does this team actually need to do in the offseason? It's easy to look at this team and see nothing but holes, but without their first two picks (which hurts both for draft and for trade purposes), it's hard to see how they can fix, or even patch, everything.
