The Bears are now halfway through the 2016 season and are currently sitting on the 4th pick for the 2017 NFL draft. As of today if the Bears were picking now, this would be my draft. I did go heavy in the Defensive backfield, but that is were the Bears are the thinnest today. I would like to dip a little higher on another OT, but followed a fanspeak mock and none of the prospects interested me when the picks came up. 1. Mitch Trubisky QB NC 6-3 220 - I have seen arguments about going with an instant impact player like Myles Garrett, but a high first RD pick makes more sense to get the QB to develop for the future since you get that 5th year on contract. If the Bears want to turn the corner, they need to start a path and go with it. Without a QB they are only making circles. They should hire Mike McCoy to be the OC if he does get fired, re-sign AJ long term and draft offense. On Defense, they have some pieces and are respectable but can use a DE, CB, and S to take that step into top 10 talk. Sign the top dogs as a year or two patch like Calais Campbell DE, Eric Berry FS, and Trumaine Johnson CB. If there is still money, maybe make a run at Mevin Engram OLB also. I've been a Bears fan a very long time. I'm on this board 5times a week. But I hardly ever post. But these last 24hrs have been crazy. See….I remember the years without a QB. I remember going every year with 2-3 subpar QB's rotating the starting spot almost on a weekly basis. As horrible of a season Jay Cutler had last year, he is still the best QB available. I'm just curious why there is no discussion, or someone promoting Lattimore with the 3rd pick? He's clearly the top rated CB in this draft with a grade nearly as high as the top two safeties. Traditionally CB has higher value than Safety so it seems some among us would be on the soap box for him. Is it because of his hamstring injury history? Depth at the position in the draft? Or because we signed two FA CB so the need is a bit less? Most here agree with the idea of taking a CB in Rd 2. Is Lattimore just not good enough to warrant the 3rd overall pick? Bears waived RB David Cobb. The ex-Titans bust made it four months on the Bears' offseason roster.
