If we are trying to improve, but not get older by signing guys north of 30, these are the names I came up with of players who are 28 or younger with 500 or more snaps last year who look to be solid signings: DLINE Damon Harrison, 27, Jets Muhammad Wilkerson, 27, Jets Malik Jackson, 26, Broncos Ian Williams, 27, 49ers Jaye Howard, 27, Chiefs LB Danny Trevathan, 26, Broncos CB Trumaine Johnson, 26, Rams Janoris Jenkins, 27, Rams Patrick Robinson, 28, Chargers Prince Amukamara, 27, Giants Safety Rodney McLeod, 26, Rams George Iloka, 26, Bengals OLINE Ryan Schraeder, 28, Falcons Mitchell Schwartz, 27, Browns Jeff Allen, 2…

I know it's far-fetched, but suppose the Bears went Notre Dame heavy. 1. Ronnie Stanley, OT 2. Jaylon Smith, ILB 3. 4. Sheldon Day, DT 5. KeiVarae Russell, CB 6. Romeo Okwara, DT 6. Elijah Shumate, SS 6. C.J. Prosise, RB 7. Pick who you want in the 3rd and 7th. What's your result? Would you be happy with the overall draft?

I was thinking about the nightmare scenario possibility. Could it be possible that all the likely guys are gone? 1. TEN - Jeremy Tunsil - I don't see how he is not the #1 pick. 2. CLE - QB - Who cares who it is. They're picking a QB. 3. SD - Joey Bosa - He's largely thought of as the best guy in the draft. 4. DAL - Jalen Ramsey - They are picking him or Hargreaves. I'm convinced of it. 5. JAX - Myles Jack - They need defense everywhere. Getting a field-general makes sense. 6. BAL - A'Shawn Robinson - Canty is weak, and their LBs are firm. 7. SF - Ronnie Stanley - They just hired Chip Kelly. He's going offense. 8. MIA - Jaylon Smith - The second I…

I seen a tweet from Aaron Lemmings that the Bears were going to push to obtain Ian Williams and move Goldman to DE. 6'1" 305---65 tackles-1 FF-1 PD -1 S He seems small for the NT spot but plays well there.

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/monday...orters-sources/ I've just presumed Smith will recover and be a stud, but this makes you think twice (albeit, the dr has not actually reviewed Smith's medical records). It seems that if you take Smith, you should do so knowing there is a high risk that he doesn't play or is really just building himself back in 2016. I am okay with that risk, but it would be really interesting to see what the actual quacks are looking at and see when they review these guys. Makes you further appreciate those "medical" guys who end up just falling down draft boards despite "good" reports of health.

Apparently McPhee and Jenkins were high school teammates, and McPhee is recruiting Jenkins to come play for the Bears. Jenkins is kind of a polarizing player. There are times where he is REALLY good and times where he gets beat pretty bad. I have a lot of faith in Ed Donatell and his ability to coach up corners, I think if he came here we would see more of the really good player and less of the bad plays. Porter is kind of polarizing as well. He looked pretty good for the most part last season, but his injury history does kind of scare me. Jenks(as the guys on a Rams board I visited calls him) is younger and doesn't have the injury history. I would really …

http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_29553...t-malik-jackson There is no way I want to pay this guy $10mil/yr for 5 years. 45 tackles combined and just 5 sacks considering the outstanding outside pressure he had forcing QBs to step up in the pocket. Especially not when the DT talent in this draft is so good throughout the first two rounds. If that's the Bronco's offer then we'd have to go well above that to get him to sign since his preference is to stay in Denver. Elway knows keeping that defense together is the only way they'll get back. But still that's getting crazy IMO and he's probably got to pay Von Miller $17-20mil/yr.

A lot of Chicago Bear stories hitting the press today and I haven't seen any discussion here on it. * Bears are aggressively working on Alshon Jeffery's contract Will they reach an agreement before March 1, or apply the tag? * Pace and Fox foreshadowing the departure of Martellus Bennett? The didn't say much about looking forward to him, but said he is under contract * Zach Miller TE in the works for an extension? Pace said they want Miller back, will they meet halfway on a friendly deal for both? *Draft flexibility in Paces eyes With 9 picks in hand, Pace said they have flexibility to move up or down the draft this year. Wonder what he's thinking. …

Yesterday Pace stated he was comfortable with Leno Jr as his LT. I suspect he means he takes another step on the progression scale to being better. Also he stated he will address the OLine in FAgency. Also that depending on who they get in FAgency will depend on the position Long will play either OT or OG. So if that is the case I would say they target both OG and OT in FAgency. options on not top money players at that position. ( I still think they make one big signing and it will be D and more likely at ILB.) ROT----Joe Barksdale Bobbie Massie Mitchel Schwartz ROG----Mike Harris Jeff Allen …

I have heard a few names that we are pursuing in FAgency: I mentioned Ian Williams in another topic. I heard the name Tashawn Gibson mentioned by Brad Biggs. At the combine they had interviews with QBS: Kevin Hogan Dak Prescott Carson Wentz Jacoby Brissett I would say these QBs tell me we will be picking a QB in mid rounds and he is on that list

Kenyan Drake - 4.45, 4.44. He looked smooth. Good scat-back Ezekiel Elliot - 4.46 on his first try. Pretty good for his size. His calves are monstrous. Tyler Ervin - 4.40 on 1st effort. He looked pretty effortless too. Real light on his feet. Derrick Henry - 4.54, 4.52 at 247lbs. He had a real shaky start on the first run, but looked scary at the end of each. He had a big vertical and broad jump as well. Glenn Gronkowski - (listed as a RB ?) - 4.70, 4.74 at 239lbs, looked slow. He was very disappointed and looked like he wanted to cry. Andy Janovich - Who? 4.79, 4.84. Pure lead-blocker. Daniel Lasco - 4.44. He's destroying the combine. Also had a…

So in my daily fact gathering of all that is Bears I found an intriguing story in Bleacher Report. In it they discuss a bargain FA acquisition for each team. For the Bears they chose Nick Fairley (currently of the Rams). Although he hasn't done much lately perhaps in Fangios scheme he'd do better? And why not spell Goldman from time to time? Fairleys probably still capable to do some 0 or 3 tech work right? Here's an article on what he's been doing lately. http://fansided.com/2016/02/25/2016-nfl-fr...s-nick-fairley/

Watching the combine and two guys are impressing me today. Christian Hackenberg and Vernon Adams have both shown great accuracy and good footwork. I really like Hackenberg's release point and quick delivery. And Hackenberg's arm strength is good without much effort. Adams looks like he has to load up a bit to get the long ball out - especially the post-corner, but he is putting it right where it needs to be every time. Loved Connor Cook's anticipation. Jacoby Brissett looks slooooow and his delivery mechanics are slower. He has some things to work on. On the other hand, Treyvon Boykin looks very, very uncomfortable and rushed. His footwork is horrible. H…

Looks sloppy, slow, Unimpressive. He looks more suited inside as a 4-3 3T than what the Bears need.
