So I saw an idea that might actually get some legs involving Nick Foles in the next few weeks. Very hypothetical. If the Bears beat the Falcons this week and go to 3-0 behind Trubisky and the Eagles somehow lose to the Bengals to fall to 0-3 with Wentz, do you consider trading Foles to the Eagles if they come calling? I don't think it would ever happen, but just for the sake of the discussion, what would you want in return for Foles? We sent a 4th to JAX but there was no leverage either way at that point. So to me, he is worth at least a 3rd, if not more at this point to the Eagles. So I was thinking of a 3rd and a 6th. We don't have a 4th or 7th next year, so…

The Bears have sent contract tenders to exclusive rights free agents Nick Roach (above) and Marcus Hamilton, NFL sources confirmed. Roach started nine games at strong-side linebacker and finished with 40 tackles including a season-high eight in the final game at Houston. Roach is expected to enter minicamp atop the depth chart at the position although he will be pushed by seven-year veteran Hunter Hillenmeyer, 28. Hillenmeyer has made 56 career starts but fell out of favor. Hamilton appeared in eight games last season, primarily on special teams, after the cornerback was claimed off waivers from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. That's how the Bears acquired Roach, …

PFT is reporting that since Nicks tweeked his hamstring at the combine he has been unable to workout and has gained around 15lbs. Besides not working out, he must be eating a bunch of twinkies as well. Otherwise, there is no way you gain that much weight in that short of time. Same article says he has already lost some of the weight and has a workout scheduled with the Bears and Fins.

Comparing Nicks to Bennett, they are both similiar. Bennett seems like the better blocker and Nicks is a little more physical. Don't get me wrong, I like and would want Nicks on the Bears, but if he is close enough to Bennett were they would both make good #2's in the NFL, why jam this position up with another WR with a same set of skills. Just like Maclin's skill sets says he would make an excellant slot WR, where Hester should be. This is where I think if we do go WR, we may take Darius Hayward-Bey and I'll also lay out his profile. DHB is raw and will take some work, but is he raw due to a poor QB play and bad offensive system? If Maclin resembles Hester too much…

I do this topic each year. Here's my nightmare draft: 1. Marshon Lattimore, CB, Ohio St - With Fuller, Prince, Cooper, and LeBlanc, I don't think it's really a big problem. There are much bigger holes at S, T, and DE. And there are much better players available at two of those positions. 2. Carl Lawson, DE/OLB, Auburn - A tweener who has some eye-opening physical abilities and traits. I'll hate this pick, and any other tweener like him. 3. Brad Kaaya, QB, Miami - Lots of QBs go in 1st round, nothing happens in the 2nd, and the Bears make a nervous reach for a guy who won't be good. 4. Malachi Dupre, WR, LSU - WR with measurables but doesn't know how to use …

It's almost that time of year again, and like ever year, I ask what your nightmare draft would be. 1. Mariotta, QB, Oregon - I would hate a QB in the 1st. Additionally, I don't think he's going to pan out. I think he'll be average at best. This would destroy the locker room. 2. Gurley, RB, UGA - Injury prone RB to serve as a backup, and may not even beat out Carey for #2. I'd hate this because it would mean the current staff are moving from Forte. 3. Jaquiski Tartt, S, Samford - Saw him up close and personal. Never really stood out. Small school DB...smells like a Lovie pick. 4. Senquez Golson, CB, Miss - He's listed at 5'9", but I'm pretty sure he wa…

No trades. Make it somewhat realistic (i.e. no kickers in the first round). 1. Kevin Minter, ILB, LSU. The Bears pass on multiple OL prospects for a LB. He is potentially overrated because of the skill level in front of him at LSU, and because of his questioned speed. 2. Vance McDonald, TE, Rice. Ertz and Eifert go early and the Bears panic. Could be McDonald/Escobar/Kelce, but it still ends up being a really bad reach. 4. Stedman Bailey, WR, WVU. A smaller, bad fit WR who would do next-to-nothing to improve the offense, and will most likely have a hard time translating his skills to the NFL level. 5. JC Tretter, OG, Cornell. The OL issues are recogn…

http://sports.yahoo.com/nfl/news;_ylt=ArJN...p&type=lgns So we move up 5 spots in the 3rd (from 75 to 70). That actually equates to an early 6th round pick. I'll take it. SF loses a 5th and moves down in the 3rd. So we now have 14, 44, 70, and 90 in the first 3 rounds. Mods - I thought this deserved its own thread.

Meh. Let's hope the Bears have a great defensive showing (so far so good), and barely lose.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2015/...-as-head-coach/ Very interesting. This means Gase is still out their. If Denver goes with Kubiak, maybe Gase reunites with John Fox as OC.

Seriously. Is there any excuse for this at all? We know that Martz won't have it. Smith is OK'ing it, so he also agrees by assosciation. This is seriously got to be the dumbest thing in any pro sports ever. Why not just say we won't line up any running backs...or play without Urlacher. You know, something that could be anvantage. We're so freakin' great that we don't need all the ehelp we can get...we can just play to wonderfully perfect that we don't even need to line up a QB. It just pains me. I COULD CALL A FREAKING AUDIBLE IN FREAKING HIGH SCHOOL MAN!!!! If the line-up is pass, I'm going to call a freaking draw or something!!! Even Corky f…

I really don't know how Eddie freaking Lacy makes the All-Pro team but Forte doesn't? That is a load of crap and makes me dislike GB even more. I hate even thinking this but if Lacy, Rodgers, Nelson, Cobb, or Jones tears an ACL this weekend, I won't feel sorry for any of them. Then Marshall and Jeffery both getting jipped as well. One of them should've made it. I thought Jeffery had a shot since he was neck and neck with Gordon for most of the season. They probably cancelled themselves out, but D. Thomas made it with Decker and Welker. In the end, we had no national support this year (what's new).
