Both coordinators will be retained. RB coach is off to Texas and our oline coach and assistant DB coach are out.

  2. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0104-story.html Thought this summary was a pretty good read and I generally agreed with all of his answers. Two things that stood out was how he is trusting the process and being patient and highlighting how despite various reports, John and Ryan are absolutely on the same page. As long as that is the case, then I fully agree with the decision to keep with the path, but I do agree this is going to be a pretty defining offseason, mainly because we have to find a way to get a QB and It might be that out of all the guys available (via draft / trade / free agency) only one guy (if that) might be that guy and somehow we have to…

Who do you feel could be the "sleeper" in this years draft? I ask because I came across this article about DE Da'Shawn Hand, Alabama, and I am thinking he could indeed be an interesting prospect. I know a few of you follow Alabama & NCAAF so I was curious as to your take on this guy, do you think he could be a hidden gem? Is there a player you think will "fly under the radar" of NFL scouts and make an impact in the NFL?

Is this guy as good as the article is claiming? I did not have a chance to watch any of the regular season college football and know zip squat about the players entering the draft other than what I read. They make this guy sound like a can't miss prospect.

I know we don't all agree, but nearly every expert says this draft sucks for QBs. I'm sure as the time comes nearer, there will be some QBs moving up because of the need, but I don't think it suits our team well to go in that direction. Here's the plan: 1. Big board: Myles Garrett, Jonathan Allen. If they go 1-2, I'll be sick. 2. Deshaun Watson. If he doesn't fall, go with King, CB, Iowa or whichever BPA CB is available. 3. If Watson was there in round 2, go for BPA Safety. If he was not there, Chad Kelly is the pick. 4. Assuming QB has been acquired, go OT & TE in whichever order. TE is deep in this draft, and one of the talented guys will drop. 5.…

The more and more mocks I do, the more I believe the value in the draft is in the second and third rounds. I think the talent really falls after the 3rd round overall. There may be some winners here and there, but the 2nd round will be loaded, and the 3rd will still be pretty nice. Would you be willing to wheel and deal a ton to get multiple second and/or third rounders but end up with less picks in total? Bears' picks: 1.3 = 2200 2.36 = 540 3.67 = 255 4.100 = 100 4.106 = 82 5.131 = 41 7.195 = 13.4 -Bears trade down with NYJ to #6 (1600) who absolutely have to get a QB. Bears acquire the NYJ 2nd rounder 2.39 (510) and a 7th rounder 7.196 (13). …

This was a game filled with players who will affect the draft on the first two days. I only saw the 2nd half and it's recorded so I'll likely go back and watch it all. For now... Jonathan Allen: In two college playoff games I've yet to be impressed. I don't see the game wrecker I was expecting to see but he can also be holding back a bit knowing he's about to make $30 or 40mil. His stat line was good 7 tackles, 1 sack so one of these days I'll go back and watch the game and focus even more on him, unless of course our friends at Draftbreakdown cut it up. DeShaun Watson: Speaking of making $30 or $40mil there is no way to watch that game and not come a…

Kinda forgot about this guy, but the talent is there. From the looks of it he has a very poor work ethic and that is what kept him out of the league last year. Bears WR coach Curtis Johnson seems like a guy who might be able to get the best out of him because he won't put up with his BS. Maybe the year off will be the kick in the ass he needs and he'll come back hungry and willing to put his talent to good use. In his 2nd to last year he had 971 yards and in his last year he had 8 TDs, so again, there is some talent there, all that remains to be seen is if he is willing to use it.

Once again, the board is active with draft buzz. I went back and read many of last years posts to get a laugh or felt impressed with some early insight. Early on was doubling up on ILBs, DBs, and linemen. A lot of talk about staying BPA also. Once we got closer to April, some were shocked to see QBs projected to go top 2 as it was thought the class beared no first rounders. With that in mind, what is your early bold or daring predictions the Bears do in rounds 1-3. Give us something to look at a year from now. My take: 1. DeShaun Watson QB - I have Myles Garrett going to Cle and SF taking Kizer for some odd reason if they hire McDaniels and he takes a more…

My best case scenario for the offseason would be this. Mike McCoy signs on as our assistant HC Jeffery resigns as a team favorable contract we sign as FAs Kewaan Short- playmaker at 5t Trumaine Johnson/CB Eric Barry/FS we have the money to spend might as well go after the best In the draft: we trade our first round pick to Cleveland who then selects a QB and we get #12/2nd round pick/3rd round pick with the 12th pick we take Tim Williams/edge rusher next to Garrett the best edge rusher in the draft 2) we trade our 2nd round and our 4th round for Jimmy G (we get our QB prospect with NFL experience and less risk th…

What is up with the blowouts this season? Yesterday's games were decided by 16 and 18 pts and could've been higher if Atlanta didn't take a knee at the 1. In the Wild Card weekend, the closest game was 13 featuring Osweiler and Cook. The others were just as bad. Detroit scored 6 pts, GB won by 25 and Pittsburgh was up 30-6 with 6 mins left in the game.

Hester said he is retiring after his stellar performance returning for Seattle (194 yds) in yesterdays playoff game. Pace better get on the phone and propose he hold off and contemplate a send off from the Bears. He was one of the most electricfiling players in history and a tribute of him would electrify those emotions he brought everytime he stepped on the field.

    1. Assume the QBs fly off the chart before most believe they're graded. 2. This year's crop of QBs are all questionable. 3. Bears skip QB at 3. 4. Tons of defensive talent in this draft. 5. The Bears will need a placeholder instead of Hoyer & Barkley. I present to you, Matt Schaub, ladies and gentlemen. Neither Garrapalo nor Glennon has shown production and consistency in the NFL. Schaub has. Also, Schaub won't cost an arm and a leg. To get the shot of starting - after sitting behind rookie phenom Carr, then Flacco, then Ryan - would be a huge bonus to him. Not to mention the fact he won't cost any draft picks. There is virtually no uncertai…

It's just one analysts opinion but it matches my opinion so I like it. (that's a little tongue-in-cheek humor so relax) http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000077...-2017-nfl-draft Hooker: "He has the best ball skills of any safety I've ever evaluated in college" This is the first time I've seen two safeties in the top 10 let alone the top 5 on anyone's draft board. It's still very early in this process so we'll see how things play out over the next 3 months but from what I've seen Allen is not going to be a dominating player in the NFL. He's blocked far too often by a single OG/OT for my tastes, and I think he benefits from the talent that surrou…

  19. Which position/area would you like the Bears to focus a little more love on? Or, put another way, which position/area could the Bears draft multiple players and get your support? Two at QB, WR, OT, CB, S? What about three for the secondary? With all the talk about S in the first, I was wondering if the tolerance level had risen to where a surplus would be accepted. I think I would be OK with a draft that went extra heavy in the secondary. Find a problem, address the problem. Period. 1. Malik Hooker, S, OSU 2. Adoree Jackson, CB, USC 3. Jordan Leggett, TE, CLEM 4. Damontae Kazee, CB, SDST 4. Obi Melifonwuo, S, UCONN 5. Chad Kelly, QB, MISS…

Been talking with friends lately about what I think is a very confusing approach to QB evaluation by NFL scouts. Much emphasis is placed on taking snaps under center and playing in a pro-style offense. Then these prospect get to the NFL and are running read option up tempo shotgun formation offensive plays, which are staples in college offenses as well as multiple WRs and 1 back or empty backfield formations. So what's the big deal about QB prospects being under center? The majority of the center prospects have been making that long snap most of their college careers, so they too should be under the same scrutiny since they haven't had a QB's hands under their butt. …
