Not sure if this has been posted, but I think this just went up over the weekend, and it's a really nice resource for getting some video on the draft prospects. http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/football/...aft/2008/video/

  2. Does anyone have a site or a listing of the old Bears legends? For instance, something like... Mike Singletary - MLB - Baylor - 6'2" 245lbs Mike Ditka - TE- Pitt - 6'2" 245lbs (I made up the ht and wt on those examples...)

Just heard Mayock on ESPNradio1000 predict that some teams will move up for Flacco/Henne before Miami has a crack at them with the 32nd pick. Question? Would you trade your 2nd and a 3rd or something along those lines for a 2nd First round pick. Also side note: he said that Flacco is "something special" in person whatever that means.

From profootballtalk.com: BEARS PLANNING FRIDAY VISIT WITH THOMAS Posted by Mike Florio on April 24, 2008, 8:59 a.m. At a time when most of the smoke signals emanating from Halas Hall suggest that the Chicago Bears will focus on improving the offensive line and/or the running game with the 14th overall pick in the draft, a league source tells us that receivers coach Darryl Drake is heading to Michigan on Friday to meet with, and possibly to work out, receiver Devin Thomas. Of course, there’s a chance that the smokescreen is the team’s eleventh-hour interest in Thomas. If the Bears can cajole the Bills into taking him at No. 11, or dupe someone into jumping…

  6. From PFT: RAMS CUT BYRD Posted by Michael David Smith on April 29, 2008, 3:41 p.m. After repeated problems both on the field and off, tight end Dominique Byrd has been released by the St. Louis Rams. A good athlete who had a solid college career at USC, Byrd was the Rams’ third-round draft choice in 2006. But he was never productive on the field. In 14 career games he has six catches for 83 yards. Off the field, Byrd has had repeated problems. He is scheduled to stand trial next week on charges of assault and armed criminal action stemming from an incident at a St. Louis bar, when Byrd was accused of hitting someone the face with a glass. In an unrelated…

There's not a lot of info about Hanie's abilities so I thought I'd post this from the Bears' website. Sounds a little like the next Rex Grossman but 2in taller. However, despite those INTs, if he did have that much of a lack of talent around him then completing 64% of his passes is pretty good depending of course on the system they ran at Col State. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/ChalkTalkStory.asp?story_id=4660 During the draft I heard Mel Kiper Jr. say that Caleb Hanie had the second strongest arm of the quarterbacks this year next to Joe Flacco. What is the scouting report on Caleb and what were his college statistics? Brent S. …

Chicago Bears running back Cedric Benson had bloodshot eyes, a "strong" alcohol odor and slurred speech when stopped by authorities while boating last weekend on Lake Travis near Austin, Texas, according to a police report released Monday. Benson said he will fight the misdemeanor charges against him -- boating while intoxicated and resisting arrest. The former Texas Longhorn is scheduled to appear in court May 19. "There was no resistance on my part," Benson told the Chicago Tribune. "Was I drunk? No." He told the Chicago Sun-Times "there was alcohol on the boat and others were enjoying themselves, but I wasn't drunk." Sgt. Leonard Snyder, who sprayed and …

If I get time I'll start posting them here on a more regular basis. Tom S. -- http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=240 The Bears and the NFC North * Dan Pompei of the Chicago Tribune points out that the Bears took DT Marcus Harrison one spot ahead of where the Packers were going to take him in the third round. Pompei goes on to say that with Harrison’s off field problems this could be a blessing or a curse. Here’s hoping Harrison doesn’t own a boat. * Receiver …

Cedric Bensen In Court For Speeding On the Edens CHICAGO (WBBM) -- Now it's a speeding ticket that sends Cedric Benson to court. The Bears running back paid a $510 fine and received four months supervision, for chugging a little too quickly through the Edens Expressway construction zone last month. Bensen was pulled over going 77 mph in a 45 mph zone when he was pulled over after 3 a.m. last month, police say. Earlier this month Bensen was arrested on a drinking-related charge in Austin, Texas. Benson failed a sobriety test while operating a 30-foot boat on Lake Travis near Austin and resisted arrest before being hit with pepper spray, Travis Cou…

http://chicagobearsfanforum.com/blog/?p=254 The Bears * Brad Biggs blogs that Cedric Benson has was in court yesterday but not for boating. He was in for a speeding ticket. At first I thought, “No big deal.” But hen I read that he was fined $510 and given supervision. That was some serious speeding. * Count Rashaan Salaam as one of those who isn’t buying into the idea that Cedric Benson finally gets it. “They’ve given him everything,” Salaam said. ”But they’re getting tired of him. I have the most respect for the Chicago Bears organization for sticking with this dude. They are really looking out for Cedric Benson, treating him like he’s…

http://www.pastapadre.com/2645/madden-09-p...tings#more-2645 Arguably OT, but interesting reading for those who care. What's everyones thoughts on our safety position right now. Per reports: - Mike Brown is looking great, and finished OTAs w/ picks in each of the last two days. Insiders say the defense simply looks so much better w/ him on the field. I think we all know this, and the only question is whether he can stay healthy. - McGowan seems to have the SS position right now. Suprisingly, reports are of his beating out Daniel Manning. His beating DM is not a shock so much as who has not be involved at SS thus far. - PFW says the team doesn't appear to know exactly what to do w/ DM. Is he is a safety or nickel DB? They say he is getting the majority of his looks n…
