We are going to see very little of our starters. I have been checking out games being played on NFL.com and I do not even recognize half of the players in the lineups in the 1st quarter. I think we will see, despite what Lovie has said, that we will not worry about the win as much as escaping with no significant injuries. I also noticed that the Patriots were losing in the 2nd quarter and that they have not won a game in the preseason either. Does that mean they suck? Preseason does not mean anything and those who are worried because we lost our first 3 games are not looking at the whole picture, IMHO.

Running back Pope to go By Brad Biggson August 29, 2008 2:47 PM | Permalink | Comments (0) | TrackBacks (0) Running back P.J. Pope has been told he will be released. The writing was on the wall for him as it looks almost certain the team will keep four running backs--Matt Forte, Adrian Peterson, Garrett Wolfe and Kevin Jones. RAMS SIGN RICKY MANNING Posted by Michael David Smith on August 31, 2008, 3:36 p.m. The St. Louis Rams have agreed to terms with cornerback Ricky Manning today as they continue to shape their secondary a week before the start of the season. St. Louis also claimed safety Brannon Condren off waivers from Indianapolis. The Rams released tight end Richard Owens to make room for Condren and will have to jettison one more player when Manning signs his contract, which, the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports, will happen tomorrow. Manning was released by the Bears on Tuesday. He played in 31 games and started 11 after signing a free-agent contract with Chicago in 2006…

Did y'all see this last night?! I knew that kid was special. I wish the Bears would have picked him as a security blanket for Trubisky, and as an explosive/fearless kick returner.

With all the criticize Pace has gotten lately, I still think he has given us our core for the future. Although his first round picks have had questions due to injuries, he has drafted well outside of that round. Here is my list of who I think our core will be going forward. (not in any particular order)(draft and FAs) Trubisky Shaheen Whitehair Howard Cohen Floyd Hicks Goldman Trevathan (2018 he will be 28) Bullard (has taken a step forward this year and will have a breakout season next year) N. Kwiat ( has grown as a pass defender) with Freeman gone will take over at one of the spots at ILB Amos (is one of the highest rated Ss this…

Picture this... Biggest game of the year. Overtime. 2nd/26 at the opposing 41, and they have to score at least a FG. (PS. Their kicker sucks.) Your base defense is set. It's all you really know or do because you're not an outside the box thinker. And when you DO make changes, they're not really in reaction to counteracting the offense. They're just changes for the sake of change. But it's all part of the plan! You intend to confuse the opposing QB not with alterations and adjustments, but with the decision of which QB is most open. You've fully explained position to the safeties, but not philosophy. "They're athletes," you think to yourself, "they can…

I'm in Colombia for the month and am just on my phone so i can't post a link but I just watched a Q Nelson highlights video. Can someone post the link? It was on twitter with thr tilte, Why the Bears can't pass up drafting Q. Nelson. He is a total stud. If Long is healthy cut ties with Sitton ( our best OL last year) He is 31 and missed 6 games in the last 2 years. Time to move on and grab the best OL prospect to come out of college in last 5 years, stated by one scout. I know it's just a OG but is a potential 8 to 10 year all pro prospect. Leno- Q Nelson-Whitehair-healthy Long-New RT ( my choice would be 2nd round pick Kolton Miller. STUD OL with attitude.…

I said a couple months back that we should do this, and I'm still on board with making this happen. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2018/02/28/b...-eddie-goldman/

I still think we could take a RB late in the draft but he is a good backup RB that can catch the ball.

With the possibility that the Bears are not matching the offer to Meredith, I was looking at who is currently on the roster. It's pretty scary. We have a bunch of question marks and not much depth. Our #1 is coming back from an injury. Oh, so is our #2, whether it's White (zero confidence in him) or Meredith, who may not even be with the team. So our top 2-3 receivers are coming off injury. We do have a speedy slot guy. Beyond that - Josh "As long as it doesn't hit me in the hands" Bellamy, Tanner Gentry, and two guys I've never heard of - DeMarcus Ayers and Mekale McCay. I like the additions on offense this off season, but are we really in a better position …

Marlon Brown Hasn't played in a reg season game 2015 2013 undrafted FA. Had a back injury in 2015, signed to a 1 year deal to the broncos but was waived after another back injury. Later resigned by the broncos and released again in 2017. Seems to be a camp body.

This all starts with our new coaching staff. They all look like studs and we will have to see how that translates to the football field but the arrow is pointing up. Everything we did is contingent on Trubisky being good, the signs say he could be real good. At least we upgraded the talent around him. QB-we appear to have more competent backups this year with Daniels and Bray ( we will find out if MT goes down) RB-Howard , Cohen, Cunningham, Mizzell, Nall Howard will excel in this offense and Cohen will be a star because Nagy will use him properly. Cunningham is a good backup that could carry part of the load if Howard would go down. …

I know this isn’t the soft tissue injury that he had with us that caused him to miss time that could have been attributed to him not being in football shape but as per NFL.COM he hasn't recovered from his shoulder surgery. Still glad we decided to move on from him.

I haven't yet seen the Bengals game but Rashad Coward is getting a lot of positive reviews for his play at RT. Many are saying he's doing well enough, given his very limited experience, that he could be the replacement for Massie at RT next year. I haven't seen the Bengals game yet although there is a replay at 7am. Anyone here take notice of Coward and how he played this past weekend? It sounds as if he had a ton of snaps. If true it would appear the coaches are definitely giving him a chance to learn the position and perhaps stick on the final roster. He's someone to keep an eye on as we get reports back from practices in Denver and then the game.

JJ Stankevitz did a good job breaking down our 4th quarter TD drive. I didn't even realize we never had a 3rd down on that drive. All the way down the field it was a first down every two plays until we scored. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/bears-film-breakdown-matt-nagys-playcalling-shines-critical-second-half-scoring-drive-against

Gotta love the national media. We are now in the top 10 of most power rankings and our odds to make the playoffs is 3rd best in the league (behind LAR and KC). According to DVOA, we have the best defense in the league (by far) and the 2nd best team overall. We only have 3 games against teams that are in the top half of the league (LAR, GB, and NE). Those are ironically all home games, and the Rams is December 9th (Bear weather).
