I was most disappointed once again with the results of the Hall of Fame balloting for enshrinement and Richard Dent being excluded once again. Dent as well all know was a key piece of the puzzle in the '85 season that we went on to win Super Bowl XX and Dent name the game's MVP as well. Dent is just as deserving if not more so then Bruce Smith, Lee Roy Selmon and you could include Alan Page in that conversation. The statistics that they have come up with prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that Dent is more than worthy however, the selection committee again fails to include one of the members of the Bears that has proven on the field that he earned and should be enshrined…

I have preached this for years and have been met with strong debate. My question is, assuming this season goes off without a renewal of the CBA and there is no resolution to the problems keeping ownership and players from agreeing, could we see scab football again in 2011? I was reminded of that horror by the fact that Peyton was our QB back during the CareBear era. Is there something in labor law that would prevent that this time around or can the owners declare a deadlock and hire scabs to fill the uniforms and break the union?

Former Bears player Terry Obee from the `93 team attended our church today. He's the new WR coach at Western Kentucky University which is in the city I live. The name sounded familiar but I didn't really remember him until we got to talking and I told him I was a Bears fan. He was at Stanford last year with Harbaugh his former QB. He came to WKU with Willie Taggert when he got the head coaching job here. Always nice to meet a former Bear.

About me though, not the Bears. Some here wanted me to keep them updated, and as a collective group of bear fans who supported me throughout this process, I wanted to share the good news with everyone. As a lot of you probably already know, I was an aspiring D-I football player but wasnt recruited out of high school. I then went onto a Junior College and had a successful freshman season. Well, my hard work paid off and on wednesday I signed with Northern Illinois to play football. Brad Biggs just posted on his twitter account that we have promoted Rod Marinelli to D cordinator, the asst d line coach eric washington was promoted to d line coach and we also hired Shane Day as the new QB coach.

WSCR is reporting that Rod Marinelli is the new defensive coordinator. Last year's most valuable free agent acquisition will join this year's most valuable free agent acquisition as a coordinator for the team. To quote my idol, Charlie Brown, "Good Grief".
