Really loving Terrance Brooks at FS. I think Donald is the pick at 14, assuming he's there. His instincts are top notch and fast as hell. Plus he's got the boom on his tackling. These two are day 1 starters and solidify the front and back of the D. Hopefully can find a decent LB to step in

So was watching an episode of "First Take" with Stephen A Smith and Skip Bayless and they talked about a possibility of Brandon doing a part time gig. From what I understand BM will be taping segments of 'Inside the NFL' every week on his off day. In order to do that he'll take a charter jet from Chicago to NY each week. Could this be a problem later in the year? Link to a story of it: http://awfulannouncing.com/2014/bears-wr-b...de-the-nfl.html

To the "TalkBears" family, all my best during this Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Holidays. Hopefully this finds you all where you want to be in life and spending it with those who mean the most to you. Like in real families there are squabbles and disagreements. So is true here at the Talk Bears forum. I find myself, as I age, that my patience grows thin and I tend to spout off as if suddenly striken by Tourettes. Whatever the case may be it is clear we all love (that too strong a word?) our team. I am thankful that they are currently 7-3. I am hopeful they continue to win more than lose. After this year will my, Jason's or Brian's opinions matter? …

Noteworthy perhaps only because that leaves us with just three safeties on the roster with workouts coming up. Maybe we have our eye on a FA and this is a precursor to that move (Jeromy Miles would make some sense to me), or maybe it's just clearing guys out we don't see a future with. As it stands though I would expect a safety in the draft somewhere. I've been on record as not much of a fan of this safety class. Anyone have someone they really like? I'd personally prefer a good coverage guy over a big hitter, so I'm partial to a mid-round pick on a guy like Adrian Amos or Damarious Randall.

Coach Pagano hosted his 7th annual cancer benefit tailgate in Indy. Most all the Bears coaching staff went along to include Pace and McCaskey. Gotta hand it to these guys and their ‘family centric’ theme. Not only do they keep talking the talk..they walk the walk. That’s some good sh*t. https://bearswire.usatoday.com/2019/05/10/bears-brass-supports-new-defensive-coordinator-chuck-pagano-at-chuck-strong-gala/

They also have the 6th pick from themselves. Two top 10 picks is a great position to be in. Bears will pick 40th for their first pick (currently).

Looks like he's going to be released. Rightfully so. He dropped off the map the last two years. http://www.rotoworld.com/player/nfl/3636/mario-williams But maybe there is something there still? In 2016 he had a pesky ankle injury. In 2015 he said he didn't fit the system. This article talks about it some, but I believe mistakenly places blame on his fit as a 5T DE. The real problem appeared to be the switching he was talking about. I believe he has an excellent ability to be a 5T. He may be a little old, but I'd take him over Unrein in a heartbeat. People say he's lazy. I can't honestly say. But his physical talent says he could do wonders if…

I looked at some stats today and found a nugget of interesting data. But first, what does the media spew out all the time about "Lovie Smith's defense"? OMG! They're going to strip the ball. They're going to get turnovers. Well, guess what? They're tied for 13th in the NFL in terms of forced fumbles with 14. And on top of that, only three teams in the top 16 recover less of those forced fumbles. >TEAM FF REC PER KC 15 16 106.67% DEN 14 13 92.86% PHI 23 21 91.30% NYJ 18 16 88.89% BUF 15 13 86.67% PIT 19 15 78.95% ARI 14 11 78.57% TEN 17 12 70.59% MIA 18 12 …

Did anybody notice this yesterday? It didn't happen often, but I think for one play there was an instance where Shea was lined up in a 2 point stance as an outside backer. I love that we're starting to see more creativity on defense, and would love to see more of this in the future where he's able to roam around and attack the quarterback ala Clay Matthews every once in a while. Brilliant move by Mareneli.

You know JA made the QB comment. Now, he is clarifying with support of Orton. That leads me to the mind game. Since we already know the Queens are going hell bent for a QB this off-season. Is JA setting up a bidding war so the Queens will run out and overspend for a QB? Kinda like a bluff in poker... Even though the Queens get their guy, they also get a strained cap for other needs. Hell, I'd do it. I still see us going after backup, but a stud seems outta line due to our support players not being up to snuff.

Feed up with dumb defense play. Either get a real defensive coordinator or lovie should take over full time. I have this feeling that nobody is taking personal ownership of the defense.

  17. ...he'll be in charge of both pro personnel and college scouting. The college scouts will report directly to him, as will the AD of pro personnel. Basically, he's going to do both Bobby DePaul's job and Greg Gabriel's. He'll report directly to Angelo. I can't say I like this move. Ruskell hasn't whiffed in the draft nearly as often as Angelo, but he's also utterly failed to bring in impact players since he left Tampa Bay. He drafted exactly ONE Pro Bowler in Seattle - Lofa Tatupu. Even Angelo's done better than that. Maybe the whole will be better than the sum of the parts, but I can't see this move helping the Bears' front office learn how to draft.

Remember when a lot of here were clamoring over Myles Jack LB in the draft. He looks like a steal for the Jags now as a 2nd RD pick.

In trade from Vikings. Apparently draft picks involved with deal. Interesting moves the Bills are making these last few days. Could their offense suddenly be legit? Hell they didn't look all that bad with Orton running the show. Cassel isn't that much worse. Vikings could be getting really good really fast and stay young in the process. Not sure the RB situation but Bridgewater is the real deal (or so it seems) and now Minnesota has a few more draft picks to beef up their team.
