This is probably the best way to "predict" the records (by picking every game for every team) vs throwing up an arbitrary win number. To me the Cowboys, Lions, Bucs, and Chiefs seem a little low, and the Packers and Colts seem a little high. I see the Bears as a pretty accurate prediction, but I think we have a shot at the Division. Last year we were historically bad on defense for numerous reasons. Obviously injuries, scheme, new coaches, loss of Urlacher, all took their toll. However, just looking at a few guys who we let go this off season tells you how bad we actualy were. 1. James Anderson, started 16 games and was our leading tackler? He also had 4 sacks. However, he looked as lost as Bostic and Greene half the time and didn't have their speed to recover. He seemed out of position a lot. He is now a Nickel LB in NE. Now at first most say this is only Fantasy Football, but on the other hand, there is some correlation between stats and points. The Bears offense positions finished no worse than #12 at TE, and Defense comes in at a respectable #14. By position: Cutler - 11th Forte - 5th Marshall - 5th Jeffery - 7th Bennett - 12th Gould - 10th Bears Def - 14th Forte, Marshall, and Jeffery all made the Top 20 overall as well. I'm still fighting off the boredom of July so it's time to ask about what folks are expecting out of our players who didn't contribute much last year or who weren't even on the roster. Given how bad our D was there are plenty of opportunities for someone to garner attention in training camp. On offense it's a different story but there are some spots such as backup RB, 3rd WR, that figure to see some serious competition. I'm going with Kyle Fuller. Does anyone have a ticket connection? I'm looking for 2 tickets to the Niners Bears game. I don't want to pay an arm and a leg and have hoped to get lucky on the individual game sale for San Fran but being the first game in the new stadium, obviously high demand. Am crossing my fingers someone somehow has a Niner connection (or a real good Bear connection) to get tickets at or near face.

The battle for LB is clearly going to be the most competitive position battle in training camp. I put the battle for safety spots right behind it because I think the talent at LB is better overall. We have Briggs as the only player slotted to a role. After him we have D.J. Williams, SMC, Bostic, Greene, and toss in UDFA Christian Jones. Reggie Herring was very complimentary of SMC and Bostic when he recently stated either could have started for him at MLB in Dallas or Houston. DJ says he's not going to the bench without a fight. ESPN's Michael Wright doesn't even have Greene making the final cut with the team preferring Jordan Senn's special teams abilities…

The great Brian Urlacher was on the Score yesterday. In an interview, he was talking about how good the Packers are going to be with the addition of Julius Peppers. With all the years of being paid well from the Bears and all the catering they did to him,he keeps taking shots at them because of the failed last contract. As far as Im concerned he's quite a jerk with sour grapes attitude he carries.

Hopefully Mr Wilson makes the team and stays healthy. He will bring a toughness to the secondary that we have not had in a long time!
