With everyone, including myself, complaining about Mariani, would you kick the tires on someone like Jeremy Ross? He was averaging 29 yards a return on kickoffs and over 10 on punts. Now obvsiouly he has a problem, otherwise he wouldn't get cut. He fumbles, he had 2 fumbles in the last 3 games. sucks donkey balls. I was extremely disappointed. The sound system was way, way too loud and it feels like a tomb inside. I like how the newer domed stadiums have windows (Indy, AZ, etc). I will say the concessions and facilities are much nicer that Soldier but that is probably true of any stadium. Peace

So what do you guys think of the new 7-team NFL playoff format? I have mixed feelings about it. My old school brain says, leave it like it is. My new school brain says, cool, an extra playoff game. Some thoughts: The #1 seed is now the only team with a bye. Teams 2-7 face off in the wild card round with the 3 winners and #1 seed making up the Divisional Round. In a way, it does make more sense. It rewards the conference regular-season champ, whereas before, the 2nd seed was also getting a bye. So now the importance of winning the conference becomes even more important. The last few weeks of the season should be more competitive as more teams will be in the hunt…

MItch is a heck of a teammate. He's a really good dude and it's easy to root for him. He's also better than 99% of the people that play QB in the world. However, he's not better than the vast majority NFL starting QBs. I wish it would have worked out for him but it didn't. Where he was drafted was not his fault. I wish him all the best going forward. Drafting QBs is a crapshoot. The year Cade McNown was drafted, there were 5 QBs taken in the first 12 picks (Tim Couch, Akili Smith, Donovan McNabb, Dante Culpepper and McNown).
