It looks like Gase was offered the SF HC job, but only if Tomsula was his DC. He said no, and would keep Fangio or look to get an Assistant from Cincinnati. SF said no to Gase and Fangio and then pushed Tomsula up from DLine to HC.

Here is our top free agents, who should we bring back? WR Kennan Allen DE Darrell Taylor OL Coleman Shelton OL Teven Jenkins RB Travis Homer TE Mercedes Lewis OL Matt Pryor DE Jacob Martin I think Shelton played well enough to bring back as a backup, Jenkins on a team friendly deal and Jacob Martin is a cheap backup that has shown some since coming off injury. He was making the vet roster salary. My biggest wish is bringing in Trey Smith. Poles was there when they drafted him. With the growth of Wright and stick Smith next to him we have a power spot on the OL.

That is still funny to me, but there is a path in the next two weeks. This week, assuming DET beats WSH, CHI beats NYG and GB loses to PHI. That would slide DET into 1st in the DIV, tied with the Bears but holding the H2H tiebreaker. Regardless of the outcome of any other games, the Bears would also be locked into the 6th Seed either between SF and LAR or LAR and GB, depending on the winner of the LAR @ SF game. Now here is where it gets spicy. Week 11, if the Bears can beat the Vikings and go to 7-3, DET is playing in PHI, which PHI should be favored. Just say DET loses, they fall to 6-4, GB should beat NYG and move to 6-3-1. That would put the Bears …

Since when does this defense not give up huge plays. 77 touchdown pass to Megatron and now an 88 yard TD run by Best. Are they freakin serious when each week the commentators say that the Bears do not give up to many big plays. Two huge scoring plays tonight and the defense is supposedly rested. Ted Philips, Jerry Angelo and Lovie Smith all need to be canned and the sooner the better. This is turning out just as I suspected, into another embarrassment on National TV and we have Minnesota at home on Sunday night. Do you think that Leslie Frazier will not have his squad prepared to embarrass his former team as well? Hell, we got lucky against Carolina. This is ugly …

  7. I think we are set up to go to the SB this year. With the upgrade of talent in starters and backups , we can handle a few injuries but not MT. Defense: With the addition of HaHa and Skrine we have 2 capable players. I think HaHa takes a step forward and has several quality plays that Amos didnt have. Skrine lacks some of Callahan's talent but is 16 games of a a 5 better than 12 games of a 6 (value). Nichols, Smith, Floyd are all taking a step forward, with only Prince the potential of regressing because of his age? (maybe not) I think Tolliver, Shelley, Bush all add depth. If Jackson would get hurt, I think HaHa slides over and Bush fills in just fine. Plen…

Quarterbacks (3): Mike Glennon, Mark Sanchez, Mitchell Trubisky. Grade: B- (immobile top 2 hurt the group, until Trubisky starts, then A) Running backs (4): Tarik Cohen, Benny Cunningham, Jordan Howard, Taquan Mizzell . Grade: A- (I like this group, good mix of skills, Cohen the wild card) Fullbacks (1): Michael Burton. Grade: C+ (meh, zone blocking uses one) Receivers (6): Josh Bellamy, Deonte Thompson, Markus Wheaton, Kevin White, Kendall Wright, Tre McBride. Grade: D- (w/o Meredith we have no true #1 unless White steps up and performs like his draft status) Tight ends (4): Daniel Brown, Zach Miller, Adam Shaheen, Dion Sims. Grade: B+ (Decent versa…

If we look at all the contracts over 7 mil per year average how many were successful? the list has 17 over 7 mil of those you would only consider 5 to be over whelming successful Vernon/DE Mack/OC Harrison/DT OsemeleOG Jenkins/CB another 3 you would say was worth it Brooks/OG McLeod/FS Irvin/OLB out of 17 50% stuck out out of our free agents Freeman - huge success Trevathan- jury still out Hicks- huge success Si…

So I watched "A Football Live" about Bradshaw. I had forgotten how much bad press he got the first few years for being alot like Mitch. Not football smart, slow to process, bad choices. But also how they both have some of the same traits. Strong arm, able to avoid the rush in the pocket. Even some of the same team traits. God D, hopefully a stronger running game this year. Some good choices to throw to. No not saying the Bears have the hall of fame roster the 70's Steelers had, but we have some above average players. Maybe Mitch does need a longer time to get up to speed and someone that makes him dig a little deeper. I also think he still needs a slump buster. …

Happy Thanksgiving to you all ! I enjoy coming here , mostly to read the commentary of my fellow Bears fans. You bring so much to the discussion and often joy is at the center of your words and thoughts, and for that I’m grateful. I hope you enjoy the day in your own special way. Take care and be safe.

I need some feedback from our resident draft gurus. I did a bit of research on safeties in the draft and was surprised to see what appears to be a very thin group this year in terms of talent. I favor the draft analysis at the links below because their player profiles seem to be very accurate when guys get to the next level. If these guys are right, there are a couple prospects at the top and then the drop off is very rapid to day 3. There just doesn't seem to be a lot to choose from between Rd 2/3. This does not seem to be the right year to be going into a draft needing help at both safety positions. Maybe that's why we threw so many bodies at the SS position. …

Not sure how many people have seen the article today on the Trib's website however, William "The Refrigerator" Perry is struggling financially due to the fact of the disease he was diagnosed with in June 2008. The disease is Guillan Barre Syndrome, which is a nervous system disease. Perry also has CIDP as well, which only makes things a bit worse for Perry. Here is the story on the Trib's website: http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/chi-1...0,4191114.story Da' Coach's "Grid Iron Greats" organization is working to assist Perry however, not able to get everything that is necessary to help out. There is a website to keep people updated on the condition of th…

I stumbled across this on you tube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mBZj5pJNuSA I've seen it all before, but damn it's fun to watch. Especially about the 5 minute 40 second mark when he circles around and just runs through 5 Viking players like they were spectators. It's too bad Jeff Joniaks "Windy City Flyer" label never caught on. Either way, I'd much rather see Hester working at this then becoming a #1 WR.

Yeah, I call him Lord Poles for fun, but truly believe he is going to make us a winner. IMO, he is the best we've had since Jim Finks. Below, is an excerpt from an article from The Atlantic I found to be outstanding. It tells the whole Justin story, without mentioning Justin at all. The whole article is great. Poles went on to say that every individual has his own timeline, and some players have to be allowed time to develop to “work through some things.” “But when it goes too far and too long, your locker room knows,” he said. “I always keep that in my mind. If I’m gonna ask those guys to take ownership of a bad game, a dropped pass, a missed assignment, I …
