There is always something missing from the glass chicago. I choose to trust it will be filled with something and it might be enough to be satisfied without being full. I choose to look at what we have. -Hester is fast and capable of magnificent things. He scares opponents. Jay can get him the ball... -Olsen may be the biggest secret weapon we have and I am interested to see him show up. -Forte, able to do it all and makes it look good. I think he can keep doin it. -Pace, Williams, Kreutz, and a RT that has done it before. -Marinelli, known to be "the best" D Line coach there is. -Pro bowl players on Defense, where infusion of youth…

This is not my dream draft but with all that I have read(I dont have a life) how I think the players will drop to us that we have on our board. 2-Bryd/FS/Ore I think we wanted Johnson and he is gone and the WRs we have rated high at this point are gone so we take a player on our board that fits this slot. Besides his dad is a ass. coach on the team. 3-Collie/WR/BYU The best receiver left in our second tier WR group that fits this valve at this spot. 4-Follett/OLB/Cal I see them as thinking this is a potenial upgrade at that position and fits the valve of the pick. 5a-Melton/DE/Tex They…

Talking w/ a fellow bear fan, and he brought up Michael Johnson. At one time, we seemed to be tied to MJ w/ our top pick. Since then we traded away our pick, but also, MJ seems to have slip. I told him I do not think he will slide all the way to our pick, but his arrow does seem to be pointing down as Kiper, McShay and Mayock all have him falling past us. Anyway, what are ya'lls thoughts. Top two knocks on him appear to be that he is still a bit raw and he may never be great against the run. At the same time, he would appear to be an ideal fit for us. We have a scheme that places speed above run stoppers. We have one of the top DL coaches in the league. Oh …

Cleveland took Robiskie and Massaquoi, so does that mean that Edwards could be had with a 3th this year and a 3rd next year maybe?

I know Preseason numbers mean next to nothing, but it is nice to see some stats like this: Sack differential 14 - 4 Turnover Ratio +9 0 pts allowed in 2nd half (entire preseason) 6 straight shutout quarters to end preseason I was actually surprised to see the Sacks differential and Turnover Ratios so positive, so I compared them to the last 5 years with regular season comparisons. 2014 Preseason: Sacks 5 - 7 Turnover Ratio 0 for the season: 39 - 41 and -5 2013 Preseason: Sacks 9 - 13 Turnover Ratio +5 for the season: 31 - 30 and +5 2012 Preseason: Sacks 9 - 11 Turnover Ratio +2 for the season: 41 - 44 and +20 2011 Pr…

There are a lot of good teams in this league, you guys must all be smart, it is hard for me to draft a good team in this league. I see my team as middle of the pack in this group. Teams I like in no particular order. Balls, Crushers and Nopper with Bell back in a couple of weeks. My strong points are Gronk,Ben,Cobb and Lacy but my #2 WR and #2 RBs could end up dooming me. Some of you have one weak spot, but I see a couple on mine that will lead to to many losses. Good luck to you guys, but make no mistake about it, I want to kick you ass, and my smack talk will all be in good fun , so dont take it to personal. I will have to say it is hard for me to…

He is being tackled and tries to toss it back to another teammate but instead tosses it back to the other team????? Marshal called it the worst play in the history of the NFL, lol http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...-183803886.html This thread is not meant to start a debate on whether or not they should have traded him.

http://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/7/71/1024518/bears-3 Good article with a lot of quotes from Fangio. Very evident how much Fangio likes Shea. People need to get over his sucking from past schemes, he's now playing the position he was always a fit for. Lets also remember Fangio is not one just to say nice things about people. He's been very up front with the media on players and his rep is as a straight-shooter.

I look forward to Fangio's weekly updates. He's so straightforward with his words it's sometimes funny. His matter-of-fact approach when talking about the players is never far off from what you'd read here on the board. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...f3-172828460cb5 ... on Houston ------------------------- "[The sacks] were huge plays," Fangio said. "Now if we can just eliminate the offsides, he'll play even more and more. But that should do a lot for his confidence, to go in there and make plays at a crucial time like that." -------------------------- From the same link the most surprising statistic I've seen at midseason: -------…

I thought this was a pretty good article about the age of QBs: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14084886...bs-dominate-nfl If this holds true, and just looking at Cutler's progress this year, it would make sense to keep him around for a few more years. He is in his 10th year, and based on these numbers a QB peaks at year 12 and continues to have very solid years through year 15/16. Now obviously you can say small sample size or the numbers are bogus after 10 years because only good QBs are left in the league at that point, but that is not always the case. To me, stabilizing the QB position seems like the first and most important step to making a sustained run…

http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/11/12/jon...from-sidelines/ More of the same on White (which is a good thing in terms of how many people are complementing his overall make-up, etc). I actually found the part on one of our practice squaders, Thompson, more interesting. Would seem like he's a potential candidate to take on a greater role from a special teams perspective (as he continues to heal from his own injury which led to him being cut from the Bills).

Offense: Overall Gase did a good job especially considering he had to work with a limited Alshon Jeffrey and Royal was out again. There are still gaps on the roster that need to be fixed but more on that later. Considering what he's working with on our Oline, WR, and the backup RBs (not that they were a problem) against a very fast defense he called a good game. He stuck with running the ball late when everyone knew it was coming. Cutler: Rarely did he have more than 2 seconds in the pocket before he had to avoid pressure. Despite all that he kept his cool and moved around well enough to extend some plays. Other times when it wasn't there he just folded…

I hate the broncos, living out here. Remember the last time we played them, we were going to be the first team to ever shut out the broncos at home. It was 10-0 bears with 2 minutes left, Marion Barber runs for a first down and fumbles without contact, broncos ball and they score. Then we get the ball back and Denver has no time outs, we can run out the clock, but Marion Barber runs out of bounds stops the clock and Denver gets ball back and kicks field goal with no time left and we go into overtime and loose. I WANT REVENGE!

With everyone, including myself, complaining about Mariani, would you kick the tires on someone like Jeremy Ross? He was averaging 29 yards a return on kickoffs and over 10 on punts. Now obvsiouly he has a problem, otherwise he wouldn't get cut. He fumbles, he had 2 fumbles in the last 3 games. To me you can correct fumbling with practice, but you can't correct Mariani. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...-154300279.html
