  1. Started by adam,

I thought this was a pretty good article about the age of QBs: http://espn.go.com/nfl/story/_/id/14084886...bs-dominate-nfl If this holds true, and just looking at Cutler's progress this year, it would make sense to keep him around for a few more years. He is in his 10th year, and based on these numbers a QB peaks at year 12 and continues to have very solid years through year 15/16. Now obviously you can say small sample size or the numbers are bogus after 10 years because only good QBs are left in the league at that point, but that is not always the case. To me, stabilizing the QB position seems like the first and most important step to making a sustained run…

  2. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2015/11/12/jon...from-sidelines/ More of the same on White (which is a good thing in terms of how many people are complementing his overall make-up, etc). I actually found the part on one of our practice squaders, Thompson, more interesting. Would seem like he's a potential candidate to take on a greater role from a special teams perspective (as he continues to heal from his own injury which led to him being cut from the Bills).

Offense: Overall Gase did a good job especially considering he had to work with a limited Alshon Jeffrey and Royal was out again. There are still gaps on the roster that need to be fixed but more on that later. Considering what he's working with on our Oline, WR, and the backup RBs (not that they were a problem) against a very fast defense he called a good game. He stuck with running the ball late when everyone knew it was coming. Cutler: Rarely did he have more than 2 seconds in the pocket before he had to avoid pressure. Despite all that he kept his cool and moved around well enough to extend some plays. Other times when it wasn't there he just folded…

I hate the broncos, living out here. Remember the last time we played them, we were going to be the first team to ever shut out the broncos at home. It was 10-0 bears with 2 minutes left, Marion Barber runs for a first down and fumbles without contact, broncos ball and they score. Then we get the ball back and Denver has no time outs, we can run out the clock, but Marion Barber runs out of bounds stops the clock and Denver gets ball back and kicks field goal with no time left and we go into overtime and loose. I WANT REVENGE!

With everyone, including myself, complaining about Mariani, would you kick the tires on someone like Jeremy Ross? He was averaging 29 yards a return on kickoffs and over 10 on punts. Now obvsiouly he has a problem, otherwise he wouldn't get cut. He fumbles, he had 2 fumbles in the last 3 games. To me you can correct fumbling with practice, but you can't correct Mariani. http://sports.yahoo.com/blogs/nfl-shutdown...-154300279.html

Defense Coming into this game it seemed clear Fox was more focused on being healthy against Green Bay. The most surprising inactive, or the one I wasn't expecting, was Antrel Rolle and I think he was missed a lot. Why was Prosinski out there instead of Jones-Quartey? We'll never know but I'm pretty sure I saw JQ out there on special teams. I trust these coaches to put the best players out there but I also recognize that they are not afraid to develop new talent keeping an eye toward the future. Overall the D held up but it wasn't pretty. Yes it was the Broncos with a backup QB but they gave up 17pts and that should give your team a fighting chance. There we…

We get a day off of work (at least most of us), we get to spend time with family & friends, we get wonderful food...and we get to see the Bears defeat the Puckers on national TV while the station and all involved wanted to just have a parade for Favre and all expecting a Pucker blowout. Bear the f&^% down! THAT WAS AWESOME! Turkey never tasted so good! ...and some whisky didn't hurt either. Happy Holidays, fellow Bears fans! Happy Holidays! It wasn't an early gift from Santa, it was straight EARNED. Well done Bears, top to bottom. From management who got us some good players, to the coaches, who have done a great job, to the pla…

We're in the top ten for sure. Maybe better. Unfortunately/fortunately, Nkemdiche appears to have fallen. Reconfigured top 4. 1. Ronnie Stanley, OT, Notre Dame - BOOM. 2. Robert Nkemdiche, 3-4DE, Ole Miss - In my dream scenario, everyone hates his recent issues enough for him to fall to the 2nd Bears pick. BOOM. 3. , OLB, Clemson - Great outside rush. BOOM. 4. Darian Thompson, S, Boise State - Great size, range, skill. Great centerfield option. BOOM 5. , WR, North Carolina - This is partly because he's a pesky Wes Welker type, but mostly because he's a dynamic, fearless returner. Cut Mariani, immediately insert Switzer in as punt and kick returner, …

Read about this guy anywhere and you'll see: (Walter, Bucky Brooks, CBS, NFL.com, the list goes on and on) -Elite power -Great run defense -Unbelievable agility for his size -Surprising pass rush ability -etc. Everyone loves this guy. His high school highlights are more comical than maybe anything I've ever seen. What do you guys think of him as a potential 3-4DE? I know he isn't the ideal size/burst, but if he can collapse a pocket he can collapse a pocket. I don't care how it happens. And since I'm in favor of elite run defender 3-4DEs over guys who are well-rounded everywhere but not elite anywhere, I favor the former. With a guy like Bil…

Kenyan Drake - 4.45, 4.44. He looked smooth. Good scat-back Ezekiel Elliot - 4.46 on his first try. Pretty good for his size. His calves are monstrous. Tyler Ervin - 4.40 on 1st effort. He looked pretty effortless too. Real light on his feet. Derrick Henry - 4.54, 4.52 at 247lbs. He had a real shaky start on the first run, but looked scary at the end of each. He had a big vertical and broad jump as well. Glenn Gronkowski - (listed as a RB ?) - 4.70, 4.74 at 239lbs, looked slow. He was very disappointed and looked like he wanted to cry. Andy Janovich - Who? 4.79, 4.84. Pure lead-blocker. Daniel Lasco - 4.44. He's destroying the combine. Also had a…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2016/...-of-real-value/ I can't believe he received 36 million with 26 guaranteed. I only mention this, because he's done very little throughout his career and it makes Cutler's deal seem like a steal.

We still have some decent names out there to sign but the reality is there still hunting for good money. I think Hicks, Freeman, and Gersham leave town without contracts. I dont think going forward we will be over paying for FAs. We knew they were after Tev but Massie was a surprise pick. He is average but improves our OL never the less. DL- names left to chase Hicks Fairly Crick Knighton Jerkins ( heard that deal is not done yet) OLB …

The TE turned down a strong four year offer from the Bears to sign a one year deal with AZ. I got to admit, I thought it was a done deal the Black Unicorn would be gone. He was given permission to negotiate a trade and so far there appears to be nothing. Considering it's a week TE draft class and there's really nobody left on the open market (aside from Miller) I have to think it's a strong possibility he returns.
