So I guess the Bengals are asking a lower price now for Trey Hendrickson. Now they want Cole Kmet, a 2nd and a 4th. Hendrickson is a hell of a player, but he is 30, this isnt the same as Micah Parson. And the asking price is lower. I'm not sure what I'd do right now. It seems a pretty even trade, so it can be argued both ways I think.

Minnesota will be without Jordan Addison for this one. On the injury front, we know the Bears will be without Booker. The team is still hopeful to have Jaylon Johnson back to match up with Justin Jefferson. Both of those two are dinged up right now. I could see a heavy dose of Aaron Jones and TJ Hockenson in Week 1. I think the biggest question for me before the season starts is: Is Jaylon Johnson going to play and can he be up to speed day 1? I know there are questions at other positions but until we see our players preform, Im going to wait and make those judgements later. Because we are playing Jefferson our first game, I think this matters.

Higher than I expected to be honest. Considering Goff is lower, and only Daniels is higher as a 2nd year QB. So Maye, McCarthy, Penix are all lower.

It looks like the Bears created enough cap space for operating during the season after restructuring Jaylon Johnson's contract (saved $8M on this year's cap). However, I don't think there is room to add any big ticket guys like Zadarius Smith. At most it will be a vet minimum guy that doesn't impact the cap.

Ty Dunn wrote a 3 part article about 2024 Bears and it throws Caleb under the bus. I read where one coach that is quoted said this was not suppose to be public. The writer lied to get quotes. It makes Celeb look very bad. Throws Poles under the bus also. I have only seen some quotes and the article comes out Monday. My opinion is some things are true and some things are opinion. People forget how bad last year's Week 1 was because the Bears won, but I doubt people remember that the offense didn't score a TD (Stevenson had a Pick-6 and Owens had a Blocked Punt Return). The offense had 11 first downs, 5 passing, and had 148 total yards. This year they had 20 first downs, 10 passing, and had 317 total yards against a better defense. Williams' performance has also improved: 2024: 14-29, 93 yards, 48.3%, 0 TD, 0 INT, 3.2 Y/A, 2 sacks, 55.7 QB Rating, 22.5 QBR, 5-15 rushing. 2025: 21-35, 210 yards, 60.0%, 1 TD, 0 INT, 6.0 Y/A, 2 sacks, 86.6 QB Rating, 63.8 QBR, 6-58 rushing, 1 TD.

So I think we can safely say that some of the preseason can be correlated to the regular season. Special Teams was an issue in the preseason, and it was also in Week 1. On punts, MIN's PR Price averaged 17.0 on his returns (which is crazy). Duvernay averaged 9.3. The Bears lost 31 net yards in punt coverage. Wright was 7-333 on punts averaging 47.6. Taylor was 6-266 for only 44.3 per punt. So the Bears lost another 20 net yards in just punts. That is 51 lost yards without the offense or defense on the field, which basically equates to at least 3 pts. I don't know how a punter loses 10 yards off his punts from college to the pros. Lions favored by 6, the 4th biggest spread of the week. For how bad the Bears looked, the Lions looked worse in Week 1. For EPA/P for the offense and defense, after Week 1: Bears 23rd and 6th Lions 22nd and 26th The Lions defense was bad and lucky they didn't give up 40. The Bears were unlucky and gave up 27. This is not a result of Ben Johnson, Caleb Williams, or anyone else but Ryan Poles. You can't continually lose on trades and under draft year after year. 2025 Draft picks in the first 4 rounds have literally contributed zero to this team in 2 weeks, and the Bears had 5 picks in the first 4 rounds. In 2024, he drafted Williams #1 and Odunze #9, which were a wash. Most had Williams going #1 and Odunze at 8. He did pass on Brock Bowers and Thomas Jr to go with Odunze. Welp, that was fun while it lasted. Didn't think I would need to start this thread this early, but it is hard to see much light at the end of the tunnel with the brutal schedule. As of this writing, the Bears are one of 7 teams at 0-2, with 2-3 more likely by the end of the week. So the entire top 10 may be winless after two weeks. What sucks for the Bears is the reverse order SOS, so not only do you get punished in season with the toughest schedule, that also equates to the worst draft pick. The league should move to strength of victory as the tie-breaker, and only use SOS for 0-17 teams. That would be a much more accurate indication of a team's true strength.…

Crazy to think the opening line has the Bears favored, but they do. My assumption is that will slide to DAL being the favorite as the week goes on and DAL gets hammered with money. At this point, it is probably another loss until something happens with the defense. If they can't get pressure, they can't have Stevenson out there trailing WRs by 5 yards on every play. I don't even know what type of coverage he is playing, but he has been one of the worst players on the defense, and teams just start targeting him on every play. Looks to be out for awhile or possibly the entire season. Crazy think players can get hurt outside of work and basically get workers comp. Good reason for a fire sale I guess. Clean house at deadline and reset for next year. Use this year for offensive development and to evaluate players.

We choked in the first game and got our ass kicked in the 2nd. Prior to the season beginning we had the discussion of how long it would take for the Ben Johnson team to take shape. Nobody on this board said it would be instant. We agreed it would be between week six and eight weeks before the offense would click. We never really discussed how long it would take the defense. Defense usually happens faster as but we have had a lot of injuries to hinder the process. Who predicted we would win the division? None of us. Caleb got better this week. That's all that counts.

More specifically, Swift. The Bears are a top 5 rushing unit BEFORE contact, meaning the OLine is actually doing a great job at run blocking, yet Swift is bottom 5 after contact. So the run game is completely dependent on making a gaping hole that anyone can run through. RB will need to be addressed. Still can't believe Poles waited until the 7th to address it with a bunch of RBs on the board in the first few rounds.
