Here are the Bears snap count leaders on offense and defense for the season. If you could replace two players per unit, who would they be? On offense, I feel like our weakness was still our offensive line. Just based on the eyeball test, Massie seemed like the weak link on that unit. The only other "proclaimed starter" that I would get rid of would be Sims. Where else is there a blatant upgrade on offense, in terms of starters? On defense, if feels like the D-Line could use an upgrade outside of Hicks and Goldman. The only other upgrades I could see are at CB and SS (if Amos goes). With the season now officially over (as opposed to when it was essentially over two months ago), what does this team actually need to do in the offseason? It's easy to look at this team and see nothing but holes, but without their first two picks (which hurts both for draft and for trade purposes), it's hard to see how they can fix, or even patch, everything. So, let's look at this team: QB: It'll be Cutler and Hanie, but am I the only one who would kind of like to see a veteran QB on this team? So with the FA moves we have made are we gaining on the other teams we play or will they be trying to catch us? Before anyone gets their panties in a wad, I would point out this involves the personnal conduct policy, which the bears have come up against before, and could one day again, and thus can be argued this is Bears related. There will be those who say if Ben isn't convicted (or even charged) Goodell should not do anything, but I disagree. Especially in a criminal case like rape, it is very difficult to prove guilt. IMHO to beat the Buc we must run the ball at least 30 times and use our height at TE in the red zone, because we are going to get there against this team. Okay, this is not a complain thread. There are plenty of those which I have plenty of comments on. My question is this. We have about $34m in cap space. It was reported to be around $30m, then it was reported the cap went up another $4m for all teams, thus $34m. Each year, we spend close to our entire cap allowance, if not the full amount. That doesn't mean we use it all up loading up on FAs, but on paper, we do use up all our space. This year, we simply do not have the in-house players really due to be extended, which has used up a ton of our cap space in recent years. So where are we going to use our $34m? ...and Ron Turner is being made to look good by poor weather conditions and a REALLY stupid opposing ST coach. Makes me wonder: Is Turner the problem or is it a bad O-line? The O-line is performing well today and Turner's calls have been very good although conservative. I'm just enjoying some early holiday cheer and fun to watch football.
