In another post, I mentioned how I felt unsettled over the way last season ended and this began. I know why now. Our identity is offense while the defense retools. Problem is, the 2 people at the forefront of the offense are knuckleheads.(Trestman and Cutler) Both made bonehead decisions that compromised our ability to win. After that, we still had a chance to win in OT and our dynamic duo could not come through. This does not bode well for a the confidence of our defense. Crazy seeing some of these QB performances today. Flacco, thanks Trestman, was the worst starting QB this week. 18-32, 117 yards, 2 INT (1 Pick-6), and a 38.2 Passer Rating. Adding to that, they lost Suggs for the year. Manning looked equally horrible throwing a Pick-6 and ending with a 59.9 Passer Rating and 4 sacks. Rivers, even though he threw for 404 yards, had 2 horrible INTs (one in the endzone). Stafford had 2 picks (and a 3rd overturned) and could've probably had 5 INTs if the defense didn't drop them. Luck had 2 picks and did not look good against Buffalo Wilson had a pick and was sacked 6 times.

I think this is worth watching. A couple highlights: 1) He is the anti-Nagy: "This is our offense it's not my offense". He is incorporating things from everyone on the coaching staff. 2) On EqStBrown: He matured a lot last year, and he's glad we were able to sign him and expects him to role model what they want on offense and that he'll contribute quite a bit this year. Lots of questions on Velus and of course Fields.

Jones has a concussion issue. Kiran Amagadje is available, as is Larry Borom. First and foremost, I worry about Caleb. I want him protected. No point in getting him injured now. But I'd be lying if I said I wasnt interested to see Amagadje out there showing what he's got. Hopefully both are possible at once, and Amagadje shows us something. But if it's one or the other, of course I'd lean toward protecting Caleb. And it's not like Borom is any sure thing. If things get ridiculous, I wouldn't be averse to seeing Bagent out there if things get hairy just to make sure Caleb is OK.

Just saw Tommie Harris in last nights episode of Criminal Minds on DVR. The good part is, he really sucks at acting. So, he'll have more time to focus on earning his pay check.

With Demps designated to return, the Bears can no longer bring back Kevin White this year, which officially ends his season. Demps joins Hall as the two (and only) players that the Bears can designate to return from IR.

With the projected cap in 2022, it would be wise to extend ARob and Roquan now. Locked them both up long term, ARob is still only 27 and it is better to extend Roquan before he is an All-Pro selection. Thoughts?

This was one of the most informative and engaging interviews I have ever heard. He described Pace as a cutting edge GM and that he had been after him for two years . He said he told Loomis that if this guy wants to be a GM he needs to interview now. He also talked about how the impromptu interview went down with Todd Bowles and said after that Pace lead the interviews for all the rest of the candidates and that he took the background when Fox became available. He really feels strongly about Adam Gase as a HC candidate from his interview with him and he talked about how Fangio had made Eli Manning look out of sorts when his defense had an attack plan against him.
