This has to be a clear cut sign that Williams is playing at LT, right? I mean, there's no way he could be worse than Webb; so if there is competition, true competition, Williams has it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/footb...0,3935877.story Williams - Spencer - Garza - Louis - Carimi That is better than last season, but it sure as heck would have been nice to have more done.

I'm curious to see how he plays this season after the change in workout strategy. As I've said before this is his first offseason in an NFL training program and it should help him quite a bit. He moved fairly well for a big guy last year but a bit more quickness in his cuts would certainly be beneficial. https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/what-does-bears-coach-matt-nagy-have-in-store-for-te-adam-shaheen/ When the Bears designed their offseason training plan for Shaheen, their goal wasn’t to increase his power or strength — ‘‘I was pretty damn physical last year,’’ he said — but to make him more fluid, mobile and flexible. Part of the Bears’ focus was t…

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/article-1...42-13b5cb17a9e8 In an "Around the League" feature posted this week, NFL.com analyst Chris Wesseling selects the Bears' Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery as the best wide receiver tandem in the NFL. "A prototypical go-to target on third downs in the red zone, Marshall is among the NFL's top handful of receivers from the past decade," Wesseling writes. "He was outplayed at times last season by Jeffery, who was a big-play machine en route to finishing second among NFL receivers with 1,521 yards from scrimmage." -------------------------------------------------- The place where receivers go to die has turned arou…

Bears' lineup of 2011 opponents nearly set September 14, 2010 8:24 AM | 1 Comment By Brad Biggs We're just one week into the NFL season after a doubleheader Monday night, but it's never too early to look ahead. Way ahead. Provided a labor situation doesn't go from bad to completely lost -- and football is played in 2011 -- the Bears' opponents for next season are nearly set. All that remains to be determined is which teams the Bears will face from the NFC West and the NFC East (they will play the corresponding finisher from each of those divisions). Here is the Bears' lineup of opponents for 2011: BEARS' 2011 OPPONENTS Home Atlanta Car…

per ESPN. Good signing by them... depending on the cash. Provides a good speed/deep threat to compliment Edwards.

  10. So the Bears have re-signed CB Marcus Cooper and long snapper Patrick Scales. I think we will probably see 2 OL and at least one pick on the defensive front seven in our first four picks. We could use another body at safety and WR, but the front seven and the OL are the obvious places that still need upgrades. I wouldn't be shocked to see us take 3 OL if you include the 5th round or later.

  11. Started by adam,

So thru 3 rounds, this is what we are looking at: DET - Decent draft but missed opportunity to take Tua and/or trade Stafford, or trade down 1. Okudah, CB - basically replaces Slay, good for salary cap, but team really doesn't improve much. Highest DB ever selected, passed on Tua 2. Swift, RB - they already have KJ, so at most RBBC, they must be concerned about KJ's health. Good value pick 3. Okwara, Edge - Decent pick in the 3rd Round, brother is already on the team, reminds me a lot of Floyd, seems more comfortable as just a speed rusher. 4. Jackson, G - Interesting pick, Jackson had a 4th to 5th round grade from most sites, so Pick 75, 11th pick of the 3r…

Admittedly I've never liked much of what Jones has done on the field. Despite having outstanding athleticism he seemed to have little ability to diagnose a play and get into the right position to stop it. Now just two weeks into this camp and here's Jone's being listed as one of the most improved players. If true he along with Kwiatkoski could give us excellent depth at ILB. Jones ability to run (and hopefully cover TEs) fits better as the backup to Trevathan while Kwit's skills fit better behind Freeman. I don't expect Trevathan to get many plays in preseason so we'll get plenty of opportunity to compare Kwit and Jones. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/chalk…

  17. Started by lemonej,

The first and foremost factor will be health. With DJ Williams returning to practice and possibly starting, having rookie LBs Bostic and Greene serving as depth bodes well. Of course Williams health going forward will be a concern but Bostic receiving significant reps in the preseason is a plus.Right now this team is thin at the OL depth an CB depth and inexperienced at quite a few positions after the top 3 guys. DT,DE,CB,OL and QB. This seems to be a work in progress and I'm not sure that this isn't a calculated gamble on Emery's part. If Cutler suffers a freakish accident on the field like when he broke his finger against the Chargers a couple of years ago then th…
