I was upset when I first learned of Cliff Stein leaving the Bears. I was even more alarmed that it was rumored that Warren was the one who showed him the door. I just read an interesting article describing in detail the rise and fall of Cliff Stein and now fully understand why he was dismissed. The article describes Stein's change in approach to contract negotiations that had become an issue with players and their agents. It also mentioned that he felt Phillips and Stein mishandled negotiations with Arlington Heights which has led to a stalemate in Warren's plans for a stadium there. I was pissed when they let Robbie Gould go, he was an outstanding placekicker for us. I hope this new PK we signed away from the Dolphins is as good as everyone seems to proclaim he is. I have Never been a big fan of our Punter. Now I see one of the best punters in the NFL over the past few years, Marquette King, has been released from Oakland. I hope that Pace signs this guy!

NFL Draft 2021: Hoge's Bears Mock Draft 4.0 Of all the mock drafts I have reviewed, I think this one is one of the best. It has trades involved that are very realistic vs pipe dreams I also like the players selected. If this could become reality, I'd be excited beyond words Unfortunately, I doubt we'll come anywhere close to this predicted draft/

This has to be a clear cut sign that Williams is playing at LT, right? What say you? I'm going to go OT - I think they move up a few spots and grab the Utah prospect. If not OT, I think it will be a DB and think it would be the Tulane safety or a trade down and they grab the IU DB.

Admittedly I've never liked much of what Jones has done on the field. Despite having outstanding athleticism he seemed to have little ability to diagnose a play and get into the right position to stop it. Now just two weeks into this camp and here's Jone's being listed as one of the most improved players. If true he along with Kwiatkoski could give us excellent depth at ILB. Jones ability to run (and hopefully cover TEs) fits better as the backup to Trevathan while Kwit's skills fit better behind Freeman. I don't expect Trevathan to get many plays in preseason so we'll get plenty of opportunity to compare Kwit and Jones. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/chalk…

I saw this nugget from the Albert Breer article. Recovery is typically 6-12 months, which is a huge range of outcomes. We are 8 months removed from this injury, and 9 is the halfway point in the range. Could the Bears get Trapilo back in October or November? That would be huge. Taking the most current rankings from various sites, I put together a compiled list to see how the prospects would rank. I ranked them by average draft position with their highest and lowest slot in parentheses. I was surprised to see 15 players ranked in the top 20 in all rankings. That is really consistent. I added some breaks where the averages were separated by a few points. If we are going BPA, and this list is any indication of player value, it looks like we will pick from the first 7 listed (and more specifically Fowler/Cooper/White/Gregory). This is a great example of the difference between Foles and Trubisky. Foles does this all game long. Trubisky has to get the call from the sidelines, then just executes it to the first read regardless of coverage. So he does make some amazing throws like the ones to Miller but then also throws into triple coverage to ARob. Foles adjusted this play, the receiver, the rub, and the protections all while the defense shifted. Very cool to see a play broken down to this level. So now Foles needs to work on the timing of routes with his receivers.
