The Bengals responded to the smashmouth conditions by feeding the ball to running back Cedric Benson 38 times for a career-high 171 yards. With 118 of those yards coming in the first half, it marked the first time since Dec. 11, 2005 against the Browns (when Rudi Johnson had 124 in Cincinnati) that the Bengals had a 100-yard rusher in the first half.

Pace has taken a lot of flack for his first round picks since he has been here but I still think he has did a good job of developing a core of good players going forward. I heard one interview from a former GM talk about Pace and that the draft is only one part of the over all picture in building a franchise and he thinks he as did a good job. This years draft could have potentially brought us our Franchise QB that is still yet to be determined but the arrow is pointing up. The jury is still out on Shaheen but I think his upside is tremendous, you can't teach size. Jackson is looking like a future all pro type with a third round slot. Cohen is a gem, and as …

Every year I try to go to Bears TC during my B-Day week and I have no idea when they get to Bourbonais and see that they have the first preseason game on Aug 10. WTBS I think I have an opportunity to go the week prior to the first preseason game and would like to know if anyone on this board has intentions of going that same week, because I would like to do a meet and great with you! Are you interested in making this a board group event?

Bears | Pace tried to get Holt to sign Comment (0) Sat, 09 May 2009 06:30:32 -0700 Vaughn McClure, of the Chicago Tribune, reports Chicago Bears OT Orlando Pace said he tried until the last minute to get Jacksonville Jaguars WR Torry Holt to sign with the team while he was a free agent. "We were working on that for a while," Pace said of Holt. "But I think it's a good fit for him in Jacksonville. He wanted to be in warm weather." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Bears | Interested in Toomer? ContactFeedsAdvertisingPrivacy PolicyFinal eight plan reduces Peppers' options by 25 percent Posted by Mike Florio on February 1, 2010 8:36 AM ET During two Radio Row segments in the 7:00 a.m. ET hour with our good friend Todd Wright of Sporting News Radio, Todd and I talked about the status of Panthers defensive end Julius Peppers. With the Panthers now snubbing Peppers and his agent, Peppers likely won't be slapped with the franchise tag again -- and thus he's destined to be an unrestricted free agent as of March 5. So he'll get a $100 million contract, like defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth finagled a year ago, right? Maybe not. Though it only …

By: Larry Mayer | Last Updated: 2/1/2010 12:12 AM LAKE FOREST, Ill. – New Bears offensive coordinator Mike Martz loves the passing game, but he isn’t married to it. Known for his penchant to throw the ball in stints with the Rams, Lions and 49ers, Martz wants to operate an offense in Chicago that is capable of excelling both on the ground and in the air. Lovie Smith chats with Mike Martz following a 2005 preseason game between the Bears and Rams. “You do whatever it takes to win,” Martz said during a conference call with the media. “Some weeks you’re going to run it pretty good. The next week you’re going to throw pretty good. But it’s about winning.…

Some interesting data regarding our young signal caller. "Did you know? Mitchell Trubisky threw 39 seam passes in 2017 and was accurate on 28 of them. Only Aaron Rodgers was more accurate on seam throws than he was." More at the link... http://presnapreads.com/2018/03/25/quarter...he-2017-season/

There are some early signs the offense is starting to come together. Anthony Miller is going to surprise a lot of people this season. I can include myself in that group as I wasn't that high on him in the draft process although the 2nd Rd seemed to be the right value for him. He's going to line up against other team's second or third best CB and that looks more and more like a huge advantage for the Bears. It also appears that Trubisky is starting to feel more confident in this new WR group considering all the tight window throws he completed today. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/postcard-bears-training-camp-allen-robinson-anthony-miller-mitch-trubis…

So thru 3 rounds, this is what we are looking at: DET - Decent draft but missed opportunity to take Tua and/or trade Stafford, or trade down 1. Okudah, CB - basically replaces Slay, good for salary cap, but team really doesn't improve much. Highest DB ever selected, passed on Tua 2. Swift, RB - they already have KJ, so at most RBBC, they must be concerned about KJ's health. Good value pick 3. Okwara, Edge - Decent pick in the 3rd Round, brother is already on the team, reminds me a lot of Floyd, seems more comfortable as just a speed rusher. 4. Jackson, G - Interesting pick, Jackson had a 4th to 5th round grade from most sites, so Pick 75, 11th pick of the 3r…

I been hearing this crap from some posters that feel our scheme does not fit the players taken. Well let me be the first to inform you all. We have no idea what the scheme is!!! Tice in for Martz means quicker throws different line calls and audibles. Big difference from Martz. We also dont know what Marinelli has in store for the D. With no OTA's last year it put a crimp in what anyone could do. With Martz gone it makes for a real different offense on the field. So your criticisms are a moot point, You have no idea what our scheme is going to be anymore then I do.

This evening, 8pm CST, on this thread I will be posting a link to a live Tiny Chat along with a password for a LIVE Discussion about the situation of or Beloved Bears Team. If you've never done Tiny chat before, it is a live Video Chat Room. You can get on Cam and say what you want, or you can just turn on a microphone and talk to us like that. If you don't feel that you want to participate like that, you can still join us and just type in the chat box. Yes our season is getting frustrating, when you lose 2 very winnable games that would have kept us far in the lead for our #1 Wildcard position, it sucks! But I'm sure we will all agree that is going to fade away …

I'm soooo looking forward to Game 3 of the preseason. How ironic that we now have Cutler and we play Denver in game three of the preseason, which if I'm not mistaken the game where the starters play into the second half. I bet Jay's got that one circled in fat red sharpe on his callendar.

Since the Bears arent going to make much of a big splash in FAgency, here my list to upgrade the roster. Dahl/OG-Atl Nasty attitude bodes well for our OL Light/OT-NE Older but could be a bridge to Carmi or Webb on left side . A two year deal Mebane/DT-Sea Ruskin knows well, has big upside Sims-Walker/WR/Jag bottom end of first tier WRs, could be big upgrade over current crop of wideouts Anderson/LB-Car starting to come into his own and still young Marshall/CB-Car He has good stats and can start on this team None of the above will come cheap but none will cost big money. Light is the only one with age.…

This was a couple days ago and leaves just one draftee, Brisker, pending. I'd expect that to be done soon but it also depends on when Brisker is available to sign if he chose to go out of town during his break. https://www.si.com/nfl/bears/news/bears-sign-top-draft-pick-kyler-gordon
