  1. Started by DGBears,

Browns just cut Gordon, is he worth the trouble for a buy-low flier? Will someone pay him? To me, his drug issues scare me away and I'm sure that's what pushed the Browns over the edge. Worth the discussion, at least.

  2. Started by AZ54,

I took the time to watch the game again and I'll start my thoughts with the QB. I was a bit harsh on Trubisky in my other post where I said this was his worst game. He had the two picks and early on looked like he was trying to be too perfect or over-analyzing things. Announcers were critical of him for over throwing Jordan Howard in the flat in the first quarter but didn't acknowledge the hand of a defender that he had to throw over to top of. I don't regret at all the chance he took with Robinson when it was a foot short. In time he'll have a better feel for that throw. For the second game in a row he led the offense right down the field for a TD to open the …

JJ Stankevitz did a good job breaking down our 4th quarter TD drive. I didn't even realize we never had a 3rd down on that drive. All the way down the field it was a first down every two plays until we scored. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/bears-film-breakdown-matt-nagys-playcalling-shines-critical-second-half-scoring-drive-against

  5. Started by adam,

Bears scoring differential for the first 3 quarters: 30-6 In the 4th quarter: 17-35 So the team has allowed only 6 points in the first 3 quarters of the first two games (literally averaging 1 point allowed per quarter), but is giving up an average of 17.5 in the 4th quarter. So opponent's offenses in the 4th quarter (17.5) outscore our offense for the entire game (16.5). I just didn't realize how dominant our defense has been. GB didn't score a TD until after the 1st minute in the 4th and Seattle scored one 5 minutes in. Some of this can be contributed to conditioning, etc, but I didn't like the Prevent defense Fangio called on Seattle's 99-yard TD drive on MNF.…

I'll be right at midfield, row 24 watching how it goes.

  7. We are all victims of horrifically run years in the past. So, many can have an inclination to micro-manage and see so many issues and problems w/o seeing the big picture. I'm guilty of it for sure. That said, I really just wanted to take a step back and count our blessings as a Bears fan. Besides our storied history, great city, and rabid fan-base...what we are seeing now with this team I think it truly special. 1. We have a HC that's got potential. And he's up-front and honest with the media and fans. He's likable. He's surrounded himself with some good assistants too. Especially on the OL. 2. We have a DC that is excellent. Fangio has provided t…

  8. This is a must win, beat the teams you are supposed to beat. Bradford is brutal and probably won't last a quarter. Johnson does not look the same since coming back from injury and Fitzgerald is the only receiving threat. I want to see a full game this time, with significant progress for the offense and Trubisky. After seeing Mayfield come in and play like he did, there are no more excuses for Trubisky, especially against this defense. I would like to see another step from Roquan and see the team close another game out. Bears 27-10

I'm really glad I was able to go to this game. Beforehand we stopped at a restaurant near the stadium (there is a mall in the complex) and from our table I could see about 4 Cards fans and the rest where Bears fans. That carried into the game and almost the entire visitors side of the field where Bears fans, and I was down low at the 50yd line, row 24. Looking across the field it was clear there were quite a few Bears jerseys on the Cards side too. I don't know what was shown on TV but often the Bears players were looking right at us asking for more noise, especially late in the game. And we were LOUD. It's impossible to know but I'm confident as the 12th man on t…

Any news on the severity of Miller's shoulder injury? I'm a little worried since he missed his 2014 college season due to a similar injury. Very curious why he was back on the field if he actually had separated it. That play where he re-injured it looked very innocent. I hope the Bears and Miller didn't take a 1-2 week injury and make it a season ending injury. If they did, we better hope that Wims / White have some game in them because I haven't seen a ton of out this receiving corps yet.

Three weeks into the season...are people really that impressed with all of our new receivers. I know everyone just assumed we had all these great weapons in Burton, Miller, Robinson, and Gabriel, but do people really think we have special weapons? I think Gabriel is probably a guy we overpaid for, but Bears were desperate for more weapons...Burton seems legit...albeit haven't seen enough to make him great....and Robinson looks good and with more consistency between him and Mitch, looks like they could be better (need to see Mitch throw him some deep balls in a place where Robinson can make a play). Miller is the guy I probably most buy into as he has flashed some …

  13. Strength vs Strength, Our Defense vs Their Offense I think this comes down to which Fitzpatrick shows up. He started to turn the ball over last week, which bodes well for us. However, Fitz has over double the passing yards than Trubisky in the same amount of games and only 6 more completions. 410 passing yards per game seems unsustainable, so Fitz should trend down from that high. Our offense will need to score more than 16 to win. Bears 24-20

On USA today just saw this one: Packers QB Aaron Rodgers has new TV ad, and it makes Bears fans disappear https://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/packers/2018/09/29/green-bay-packers-aaron-rodgers-ad-bears-fans-disappear-nfl/1471220002/ Sure hope that Mack Trev and Co. get a good look at this. Personally, I'd like to see them rip him apart, then ask him if HE could disappear!

Watching some Notre Dame and Stanford football and the draft hit my mind. With our resources limited the next year or two with higher picks, do you see the Bears trying to extend or re-sign Massie at RT? I know a few, like myself would live to see us draft a long term solution, but Massie could buy us a couple years and keep continuity. We have a nice developmental project in Cowherd (sp) also. Thoughts?

Wow. Let's start at the top with Trubisky. He had time to throw and took full advantage of it dropping passes into the right location play after play. Numbers aside, he's still got room to grow but the most important aspect for me was seeing him confident in the pocket with his reads. Regardless of pass rush or not he looked like he knew where he should go with the ball on each play. With that confidence he finally showed he can "throw guys open" like on that beautiful tear-drop pass to Robinson in the endzone. Oline: They did a great job in pass protection today. Run blocking wasn't so good but it was good enough to keep the threat of runs realistic. …

I read this article and then looked at some stats to see where we fall. It's the end of the first quarter of the season so at this point things are leveling off and we can draw some conclusions from the numbers. https://www.nbcsports.com/chicago/bears/bears-prove-they-have-nfls-best-defense-win-over-tampa-bay Bears defensive rankings (others are from highest to lowest i.e. #1, #2): yards/gm 4th behind Jax, Baltimore, Washington pts/gm 4th behind Jax, Washington, Baltimore INTs 2nd with 8 behind Miami with 9. Peter-MR PACKER KISSER-King said it in FMIA (https://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2018/10/01/fmia-week-4-quarter-pole-nfl-peter-king/?cid=nbcsports): "10. Chicago got its first big game from Mitchell Trubisky, and look out if it’s the first of many. The six-touchdown-pass masterstroke to rout Tampa Bay on Sunday was so different from Trubisky’s first three mediocre games. Coach Matt Nagy told me: “The teaching moment for me this week was just letting Mitch know that no matter what happens, we are all in his corner.” Something worked. Trubisky had five touchdown passes by halftime. If Trubisky is even a B-minus QB the rest of the way, this defense is going to make the 3-1…

I completely missed that James Daniels was on the field for about half the offensive snaps. Brad Biggs has a nice summary of it. http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/football/bears/ct-spt-bears-10-thoughts-brad-biggs-buccaneers-20181001-story.html That might be the first time I've ever seen an Oline rotate guards throughout a game. It will be interesting to see where we go from here after the bye week. This draft class looks better each week: Roquan starter, Daniels (soon to be starter?), Miller (starter), Iggy (backup/special teams), Nichols (already in Dline rotation), Fitts (inactive), Wims (will he take Kevin White's snaps soon?)

Torn pectoral muscle. https://chicago.suntimes.com/sports/bears-sam-acho-out-for-season/ Who gets the call? Irving or Fitts? I think it will be Irving. Fitts needs a lot of work on his pass rushing moves.
