According to several sources the Bears have put out feelers to Trent Green , Damon Huard and Todd Collins with the former 2(Green and Huard) basically saying they are retired and the latter(Collins) wanting the Bears to pony up a signing bonus if he is not truly going to get a shot at making the roster. Souces have indicated that Matt Gutierrez is on his way to Bears camp but it is not confirmed whether they have offered him a contract or not.

Has anyone ever seen these guys before? Are they Chicago guys? I started watching this and the first Question: Does Caleb have everything to succeed? They questioned the weapons because some are new and not proven yet.. Then in the second question about Kmet being here in the future, Loveland is a better TE so he might be gone in 2 yrs. So Loveland is unproven and then in the second question, he is better than Kmet. Isnt that counterdicting yourself?

I really like the new format where each conference gets an extra team. This prevents a team like the Redskins with a losing record from bumping a true playoff team like the Bears out of the dance. I also like that only the Conference regular-season champ gets a bye. That makes more sense as does a guaranteed home game for the division winners. Of the 6 Wild Card matchups, two are divisional games (Rams @ Seahawks and Browns @ Steelers). The Browns will have to beat the Steelers in back to back weeks to advance. Disclaimer: this is not about what is best long term... We talked a lot about blue chip players in the past. We currently have around 10. Looking at this draft, there aren't as many "can't miss" prospects at ten, as in the past. Looking at our 10 pick with the lens of who makes us better faster isn't usually best in the long run. Who is your guy in this draft that's an instant upgrade as a starter? Take into account learning curve per position. Please don't use someone that won't be available. Gimme your guy and why...

The problem is do we sign St. Clair at RT then we need another swing OT who do we get one from FA or the draft. But at what spot in the draft #1 pick? We need a WR and a FS but same process and which rounds do you get them? These three positions are a must for the Bears. DE yes but not pressing just yet, SLB yet but not pressing, and RG. We should have alot of head sratching going on shortly folks.
