The NFC in 2012 has the potential to be one of the best CONFERENCES ever. The Saints are still the Saints and still have Brees despite the bounties. At the worst, they're a 9-7 team. Cam Newton will continue to get better. The Bucs added good players in FA and drafted well. The Falcons are 42-21 since 2008 (IIRC) and they're always a good team. The Bears now have a great WR corps and the potential for a GREAT offense if Tice does well. The Packers are the Packers. The Vikings can be a 6-7 win team this year if Peterson is back considering their draft. The Lions will be solid if Stafford is healthy. SF is dangerous as they kept their whole D plus they …

He releases his full list "The Beast" in the next week or so, but here is his top 100: https://theathletic.com/4307966/2023/03/29/nfl-draft-2023-prospect-rankings-board/ I really like his assessments. If you have access, each player has a write up. His top 10 is: Anderson, Young, Carter, Gonzalez, Stroud, Skoronski, Robinson, Wilson, Witherspoon, and Van Ness. Obviously that won't be the draft, order, so the Bears will have an opportunity to get one of those guys at #9 (or someone outside of the top 10). In his top 50, there are 10 Edge, 7 WR, 7 CB, 5 OT, 4 TE, 4 QB, 4 DT, 3 OG, 2 LB, 2 RB, 1 OC, 1 S So the Bears can easily get a top 50 playe…

A lot of you hate doing this when the schedule is released because teams improved a lot through the draft and FA, so now that it's all over with, here I go.. FALCONS WIN ---I think this is a toss up, but hey, it's a home game and the Bears have a great D while Atlanta does not. @ Saints LOSS ---This is tough, but I think the Saints will come out on top. Better offense, period. PACKERS WIN ---Another tough won, but the Bears and Pack always play each other tough recently. I give the edge to the Bears because it's at home. PANTHERS WIN ---Whether it's Clausen or Newton, the Bears are the better team. @ Lions LOSS ---I firmly stand by my statement that…

With Fields now also a runner and the emergence of Herbert in this scheme, it really looks like Montgomery is the odd man out. He has only had one rushing day over 70 yards all season, and since the offense started scoring 30 a game, he has averaged 3.55 yards a carry and 47 yards a game. He is on pace for a career low in attempts, yards, yards per carry, and TDs. His longest rush this year is 28 yards. Obviously he is going to command more than his rookie deal, but I can't see him getting anything like even what Conner or Fournette got (3yr, $21M). What do you think he is worth? Do you think the Bears give him that contract? I say they don't and let him walk.…

It is great that the Bears will have both Hightower and Borgonzi coaching there. They will get some great in depth looks at players that other teams won't. Hopefully they helps the draft values. With Hightower as the HC and Borgonzi as the D coordinator, I bet the Bears draft at least one defensive player from the East squad. Here are the rosters: https://shrinebowl.com/rosters/ There seems to be a week of activities: https://shrinebowl.com/news/2024-game-week-schedule/ before the game, so we should get some intel as early as this Thursday/Friday.

With $3.1M cap savings and the drafting of Amegajie, Borom seems like the odd man out. Gaining over $3M in cap space would put the Bears back in the top 10 for cap space (currently 12th) which would allow them to bring in another DT and DE with room to spare. Other roster casualties from my perspective are: Robinson, Gill, and possibly Homer and/or Velus. The last two will be ST dependent.

Here's hoping we can fill some d-back needs! After a few days of sleeping on the picks...it's obvious Pace wanted to improve our O. He did starting w/ getting Glennon in the mix as a veteran. Then he added a few FA pieces like Simms. Now he's drafted our future franchise QB. Got him a huge target who might be able to contribute decently this upcoming season. I'm excited to see who we can land now. We gave up what we gave up. It's done and it's time to move forward. All the picks today are more than what we had going in Thursday morning. Let's hope we can hit on one or two and get a some legit starters. And, at minimum, get some good back-ups. …

Don't know if this was posted before and I know there are many who are not a fan of McDaniels, but it's a good read. I don't think there are any of us that didn't mess up when we were young and knew more than the rest of the world. http://bleacherreport.com/articles/2666428...-pick-his-spots

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...r-they-cut-him/ Anthony Adams praises the Bears after they cut him Posted by Michael David Smith on February 28, 2012, 11:47 AM EST Getty Images Bears defensive lineman Anthony Adams was released this week, but he has no hard feelings. In fact, Adams told Sean Jensen of the Chicago Sun-Times that he still has warm feelings for the Bears, loved his time in Chicago and completely understands the business decision the team made. “I don’t blame them,” Adams said. “I probably would have done the same thing.” Adams also took to Twitter to thank everyone who made him feel welcome during his five years i…

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2012/...ng-me-positive/ Johnny Knox praises Hester for “keeping me positive” Posted by Mike Florio on May 31, 2012, 5:53 PM EDT AP As MDS has pointed out, Bears receiver Devin Hester is paying close attention to Brandon Marshall. But Hester has paid a different kind of attention to teammate Johnny Knox, and Knox is forever grateful for it. Knox praised Hester on Wednesday for showing true concern for Knox in the difficult months since Knox suffered a severe spinal injury during a December 2011 game. “Devin has done a great job of keeping me positive,” Knox said, via Vaughn McClure of the Chicago Tribune. “H…
