Bell OLT -Bills young and above average Go after Steve Johnson WR-Bills, better passing option here Go after Steve Smith WR-Phil, not cost alot and will like the chance to be a bigger part of offense Go after Fred DavisTE-Wash all good offense teams have a good pass catching TE. In the draft we get a DE, CB, and LB help .

After the Kmet extension, $3.6M got applied to the 2023 cap, bringing the Bears cap space down to $28.4M, still the highest available cap in the NFL. The next 4 teams are the Cards with $25.9M, Jets with $23.6M, Panthers with $20.6M, and Cowboys with $19.6M. So only 2 teams over $25M and 4 over $20M left. The Bears could take on a vet for a $7.5M cap hit this year and still have the 3rd biggest cap. Poles has the Bears in a great position as they can still spend and save some to rollover for next year.

As per Brad Biggs, "The Chicago Bears had a scenario they hoped would pan out unfold Thursday night as Wisconsin's Gabe Carimi fell all the way to them at No. 29, making a would-be trade to get ahead of the Kansas City Chiefs to No. 26 unnecessary." Ok, he doesn't actually come out and say it, but he implies we were wanting to move up for Carimi. Particularly since most mocks had Carimi going to Kansas City at #21.

Credit to Andrew Link over at WCG for the excellent film breakdown. Pretty much everyone credited Trubisky's 6 TD performance to the Buccaneers poor defense, to the point Jared Goff was named NFL Offensive Player of the Week. On a week where Trubisky threw 5 TDs in the first half alone that's telling about how biased people are. People say that Goff did it against he Vikings but four games into the season that defense is ranked 20th in yds/game and 27th in yards per play, 30th in NetYards/pass play. Here are the Bears snap count leaders on offense and defense for the season. If you could replace two players per unit, who would they be? On offense, I feel like our weakness was still our offensive line. Just based on the eyeball test, Massie seemed like the weak link on that unit. The only other "proclaimed starter" that I would get rid of would be Sims. Where else is there a blatant upgrade on offense, in terms of starters? On defense, if feels like the D-Line could use an upgrade outside of Hicks and Goldman. The only other upgrades I could see are at CB and SS (if Amos goes).
