After watching all of training camp and the preseason to date, I don't think I have ever seen so many draft picks have a chance to make the 53-man roster, especially considering most were 5th round picks or later. 2 39 KYLER GORDON CB WASHINGTON - Obviously a lock for the 53-man 2 48 JAQUAN BRISKER S PENN STATE - Obviously a lock for the 53-man 3 71 VELUS JONES JR. WR TENNESSEE - Obviously a lock for the 53-man 5 168 BRAXTON JONES OT SOUTHERN UTAH - Unbelievable pick if he starts Week 1 as LT and looks good. Pick of the draft maybe. 5 174 DOMINIQUE ROBINSON DE MIAMI (OH) - Another crazy 5th rounder. …

Both Godwin and Gallup tore their ACLs in the last few weeks. The WR FA market is going to be crazy thin and overpriced. The Bears are going to need to go mid-tier so they don't break the bank on a mediocre player. Mike Williams is now the healthiest and will probably get the biggest contract.

  3. So much for people riding Poles on this. I think he is doing a good job. The Smith holdout will pass. remember, Smith held out on his rookie deal. He doesnt have an agent, that is what he does.

OK! Here's a purely optimistic scenario I probably don't believe in myself, but it COULD be true. With a large grain of salt... McCaskey sucks. That's why they hired Warren. Warren has been BIG 10 commissioner, and worked for the Vikings, knows a lot about football organizations, and has a lot of football contacts. People knew that McCaskey wasnt getting it done, so he got mostly fired and Warren was brought in to do a lot of what McCaskey used to do. When Warren got here, he gave Poles leeway and let him make moves. And Poles made bad choices, while Warren gathered power and influence. Now Warren is ready to start making his first moves. He deosnt deserve …

While some considered the position a weak link prior to the 2009 season, Devin Hester, Earl Bennett, Johnny Knox, Devin Aromashodu and Rashied Davis combined to catch 185 passes for 2,334 yards. It was the highest output by Bears receivers since they had 192 receptions in 2002 and 2,363 yards in 2001. …

Some good and some bad in Week 4. Good: Waldron finally leaning on the elite players: Moore - 55 snaps Kmet - 54 snaps Odunze - 47 snaps Allen - 41 snaps Swift - 38 snaps Johnson - 22 snaps Carter - 0 offensive snaps Bad: Everett - 20 snaps (good for the offense, but this looks like a terrible signing, should've kept Bates) Herbert - 0 offensive snaps (has to be on the trading block?) Scott - 2 snaps (disappointing 4th Round pick) Velus - healthy scratch (they have to be preventing his trade value from falling any further) Amegadjie - 0 snaps this season (waste of a 3rd Round pick when they needed a Day 1 contributor)

So Allen Robinson is who we thought he was. Has anyone else watch the Rams games? He is literally jogging routes out there and barely blocks the refs. In 4 games, he has 9 receptions and 95 yards and is on pace for 38 receptions and 400 yds receiving. I am sure it will go up but not that much. He will probably end up with a season similar to last season's loaf-a-thon. The sad part is he would lead the Bears in receptions! That is how bad the passing attack has been. Somewhere Dowell Loggains is smiling.

I have seen some people suggesting this, but knowing what the Bears gave up for Mack, at the end of the day, I don't know if 2x 1st rounders would be worth it knowing how much help the OL needs. What do you think? If the Bears offered up their next 2x 1st rounders, would you trade for Parsons? I wouldn't because the Bears need to build with the draft, and I would rather they gain draft capital than trade it away.

(AP)—Chicago Bears quarterback Jay Cutler(notes) will sit out this week’s game at Carolina because of a concussion. Bears spokesman Scott Hagel says Cutler was examined by both team and independent doctors on Wednesday after practicing on a limited basis. Hagel says the doctors “all agreed that participation in practice” went well but felt that sitting out “was the right way to go.” He says Cutler will practice on Thursday and Friday, and his status will be re-evaluated early next…

People forget how bad last year's Week 1 was because the Bears won, but I doubt people remember that the offense didn't score a TD (Stevenson had a Pick-6 and Owens had a Blocked Punt Return). The offense had 11 first downs, 5 passing, and had 148 total yards. This year they had 20 first downs, 10 passing, and had 317 total yards against a better defense. Williams' performance has also improved: 2024: 14-29, 93 yards, 48.3%, 0 TD, 0 INT, 3.2 Y/A, 2 sacks, 55.7 QB Rating, 22.5 QBR, 5-15 rushing. 2025: 21-35, 210 yards, 60.0%, 1 TD, 0 INT, 6.0 Y/A, 2 sacks, 86.6 QB Rating, 63.8 QBR, 6-58 rushing, 1 TD.

  17. Why is this relevant to the Bears? Herbert signed after his 3rd year, so the Chargers didn't take advantage of his 5th year option. After this year (his 4th), his salary will go from a $8.4M cap hit to approximately $29M in 2024. If the Bears were to consider the same plan for Fields, that would be next offseason, and his big salary would kick in a year earlier than expected. That scares me. Also, I am surprised Herbert got that big of a deal. He was 18th in DVOA, 11th in QBR, and 12th in QB Rating. The only stat he was top 5 in was yards (which really don't matter unless you score). Even with 4739 yards, he still only had a 6.8 Y/A. If you took the name off an…

I've been noticing all the teams coming up with alternate helmets this year. The Bengal's white version, the Jet's black, etc... So it doesn't surprise me that the Bears will use an alternate orange helmet during the season. The Bears will wear the new orange helmets on Oct. 13 against the Washington Commanders and on Oct. 30 at the Dallas Cowboys.
