Bearstalk

Here is a mock draft at TheFootballExpert.com that has us taking Sam Baker, OT, USC in the first and James Hardy, WR, Indiana in round 2. I like this better than the many drafts having us picking QB round 1. The 2nd one from the same site TheFootballExpert.com has us selecting OT Ryan Clady round 1 and QB Chad Henne from Michigan round 2. There are 2 other 1 round drafts on the site by 2 different authors, one having us taking Baker round 1, the other Clady round 1. I am beginning to like this site!! OLTs in round 1, now that is what I wanted to see!!

I gat my birthday wish a day early. Favre going down in flames. WOO HOO!!!

Did the Bears trade last year's pick they received from NYJ for Jones to SD for their 2nd 3rd round pick this year, or did they trade that pick they got from NYJ to SD and got SD's 3rd and maybe a 4th rounder of last year's draft?

G-Men vs Pats in Arizona. Prediction: Pats by 17.

G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I like the Pats but I dont think they will cover the 14. It appears Rivers, LT and Gates are all playing.

Will Dent ever make it in? If Hampton is in, Dent should be as well. There are very few Defensive Ends who were Super Bowl MVPs. 34½ sacks in 2 years is Madden-silly. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=4289

Great news. Dvoracek and Harris in the middle, when healthy, could be one of the best tackle tandems in the league. http://www.chicagobears.com/news/NewsStory.asp?story_id=4296

Pretty good breakdown of the season. http://chi.scout.com/2/720848.html

DRAFT At pick #14 we have the chance at some fantastic players. My favorite is Kenny Phillips, we have no safeties. Also, tho it wont happen a RB like John Stewart or Mendenhall would be great. NO FRIGGIN OL. Also, i have a feeling we may select a QB if woodson is still there. If we have a chance at some of the players mentioned and we take some OL im gonna flip. If u use a high pick on an OL and they suck, and to me they are all pretty much the same, he is useless. Cant play any other positions or special teams.Drafting OL that high is stupid. There are always guys under 30 on FA. Most of them are proven starters and can be plugged in. Notice how we only have 1 O…

I believe there's a coin flip for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th round picks this year (could be wrong on the numbers). When will this flip take place? Thanks.

The National Football League is coming back across the pond. After playing a highly-successful game in London last October, the NFL announced today it will return to the United Kingdom for a competitive game in 2008 as part of the league’s International Series of regular-season games. Details about the game – including the venue and competing teams – are expected to be confirmed during Super Bowl week (January 28-February 3) in Arizona. RUMOURS ABOUND. The Bears are being metioned on message boards

Byrd promoted in coaching shuffle The Bears added a third wrinkle to the changes on the coaching staff as assistant defensive backs coach Gill Byrd was promoted to assistant DB’s/safeties coach. The club announced the move Wednesday afternoon when it also got around to officially naming Lloyd Lee the new linebackers coach, and announcing the addition of Eric Washington to the staff as an assistant defensive line coach. Byrd, a former Pro Bowl performer for the San Diego Chargers, has been on the coaching staff for the past two seasons and was elevated to assistant DB’s coach last season after serving as a quality control coach in 2006. http://blogs.sunti…

A couple thoughts come to mind: da Bears' 1st and a third for Bills 1st to grab Clady or Phillips before Denver, who has an alleged interest in 1 of those players. or Bills 1st for Bernie Berrian. Your thoughts...

Packers | Father arrested for forcing son to wear Packers jersey Thu, 17 Jan 2008 00:13:19 -0800 The Associated Press reports Mathew Kowald was arrested Monday, Jan. 14, after restraining his 7-year-old son for an hour with tape and taping a Green Bay Packers jersey onto him. Kowald's wife told authorities about the incident. Kowald was taken to the county jail and held until Wednesday, Jan. 16, when he pleaded no contact, paid a $186 fine and was released. Kowald's wife has filed a restraining order. Kowald told the Portage Daily Register that the incident started as a joke. His son challenged him by saying he wouldn't root for the Packers. Kowald said the boy was…
