Here are the top FA & Draft prospects known to date for 2008. How do we fill out our needs at this position? We obviously have to make some assumptions as to our actual needs. I would say OK at center is solid. I think Tait moves to ORT and is solid there. We have several options at OG, resign R Brown, I did not like St. Clair at OT but think he might actually be an excellent OG, Garza? ..... One of these 3 would be a good fill at OG That means we need, IMO, an OG and LOT. Here are the top FA 2008 listed by one site. How many will actually hit FA is another question... I have not followed the College scene this year and theref…

i'll go ahead and come out and say I want McNabb in the offseason. We can draft a qb in the 4th or 5th round. With the first pick, we have to get a skilled player, if that's wr or rb, but not a qb. Whoever is at the top of the board, we draft. We could address the o-line in free agency. This thread was started to get the "WE WANT MCNABB" campaign rolling. i will appoint myself the campaign manger....BTW.......I hate Benson

http://www.chicagobears.com/news/FutureOpponents.html Home: Saints Bucs Jaguars Titans Packers Vikings Lions Away: Falcons Panthers Texans Colts Packers Vikings Lions With one game remaining and the playoffs out of reach, I figure it's a good time to start looking ahead to 2008. What come first? The draft. Next? Who we play, and that's listed above. I think that's a pretty easy schedule with the exception of Indy, Jacksonville, and possibly Tampa Bay. What do you guys think of it?

Hey Guys! First time back since we switched over to the new site. I like what you guys have done to keep this going! It seems to be a much more user-friendly site as well, so keep up the good work. I also haven't been back cause I've been down on this team for the past month (who hasn't?) and getting to see them get beaten twice in 5 days (i was at the Giants and Redskins games!) really sucked. That said, the big win over GB yesterday got me in the mood to post again, so I thought I'd spout off about "winning when it doesn't matter" vs. "sacrificing victory for a high draft pick". Let me just come right out and say it makes me sick when fans, sportswrite…

Pardon me for bringing a little joy into this den of gloom and doom. But I had a little sip of kool-aid after our sweep of the Packers... Given all the damage done to this team: Losing a DT before the season started to his continuous run-ins with the law, another starting DT to IR and another having health issues all season. Losing pretty much the entire OL to age. Losing the better of the two RB's to FA and having little depth at the position. Losing BOTH starting corners for chunks of the season. Losing your starting safety to IR early on and having another guy on the team acquired via FA who just plain blows. Losing your starting Q…

Kyle Orton credited his neckbeard with helping him overcome the cold and windy elements in Chicago on Sunday. "Certainly with the wind, it was cold, but I have a beard so that helps out a little bit. It's kind of warm in this area," Orton said. As always with Orton, there is a method to his madness. Lance Briggs' status for the Bears' season finale is in doubt due to a hip injury. Briggs wants to return to ensure that he has played in 75% of all snaps, thus preventing the Bears from placing the franchise tag on him once again, thus preventing what will surely be a big payday. from some who was there: 1 - Unbelievably cold and windy. I'm not sure how it looked on TV but the wind was really swirling. The weather was our best friend today as Favre looked like he wasn't interested in playing in this weather. 2 - Orton had a nice game. Would have looked better if Moose hadn't dropped a TD. 3 - Play of the game was the screen to Wolfe which led to the TD at the end of the half. This completely changed the momentum. 4 - Nice to see the o-line actually make some holes for the running game. Let's do that again next week. 5 - Dave Toub is my favorite coach on this team. He knows how to adjust and take advantage of his talent. Two …

I really think this is something the team should consider for next yr. I believe he could be an all pro safety and allow us to cut strings with Mike Brown. The only issue may be his salary as he is being paid as a corner. Thoughts? Peace

With today's win, the Bears cannot draft higher than the 9th pick. Now the scary part is there are a ton of teams at 7-8. That means if the Bears beat NO next week, there is a chance they could plummet in the draft. Looking at Strength of Schedule which is the 2nd factor in draft position, the Bears could slide all the way to 17. Now realistically, some of the 7-8 teams will win, so the Bears will probably do no worse than 14 with a win next week. With a loss, the Bears will be guaranteed something in the range of 9-12. Kind of bittersweet, because you want your team to win, but also want a nice draft pick. Here are the current records and draft posit…

Who would have thought that a Kyle Orton led Bear team with many missing key defensive players would of whooped the first place Green Bay Packers? The Bears got to examine Orton, Wolfe, Williams, McBride, Toeiana and Kennedy. What they learned IMO is that Orton can go into 2008 competing for the #1 spot but most likely claiming the #2. The Bears should sign Grossman and release Griese and spend a first day draft pick on a QB. Running back in 2008 will not see much change as long a Cedric Benson can come back 100% healthy. Adrian Peterson deserves a shot at being the featured back coming into next camp but if anything we need to spit the carries and give Wolfe a seri…

After seeing today's games, it is evident that they should wait until the season is completely finished before voting. If you think about it, there is no reason to do it with 2+ games remaining with the Pro Bowl being played AFTER the Super Bowl. Urlacher would almost be a guarantee after his last two games: 8 tackles, 1 Fumble Recovery, 2 Sacks, 2 Interceptions, 2 Passes Defended, and a Touchdown. He is now the only player in the league with 4 or more Sacks and Interceptions.

...and Ron Turner is being made to look good by poor weather conditions and a REALLY stupid opposing ST coach. Makes me wonder: Is Turner the problem or is it a bad O-line? The O-line is performing well today and Turner's calls have been very good although conservative. I'm just enjoying some early holiday cheer and fun to watch football. Hope the Bears pile it on the Packers to get some frustration out. I'd like to see another 63-7 final score.
