Are you a diehard Chicago Bears fan? If so, you've found the spot to discuss all things Chicago Bears. Discuss the Monster of the Midway right here as the Bears look to get back on track in 2024 and take the North and never give it back! Flaming is not allowed and all such posts will be deleted. Try to keep it clean and most importantly BEAR DOWN! #BEARS #CHICAGOBEARS #BEARDOWN

  1. With them participating in hall of fame game - they can start training camp early. I don't know if that means we have more practices than other teams or if it is just you start earlier and have more off days. I'm presuming more practices - which hopefully is a good thing (presuming they manage player health etc). The actual extra pre-season game, meaningless to me - but probably cool for Bears to be there given Mongo getting into the Hall.

  2. after watching these new kickoff rules for some time now i truly dislike them. especially in tight games with time running out the field position caused by this new rule is atrocious. it starts teams out on a drive 2 first downs from kicking 60 yard plus field goals to win (somebody riddle me this... the nfl existed for 90+ years and a 50 yard field goal was considered nearly impossible. now it's almost like an extra point.). add to that mess, it eliminates legitimate on side kicks with this nonsense. if they are worried about injuries, make a rule that all special team players have to wear those helmets that help protect against concussions. add to that if they…

  3. Nice move - my presumption is if the Bears arrow continues to accelerate upwards he will be gone at the end of the year - but I'm good if he wants to be picky and stick around a bit longer

  4. Wow, this might be the best Bears Podcast show out there. Cole Kmet and Adam Hoge, then they bring in DJ Moore. Awesome info.

  5. Reports are swirling around the possibility that Derek Carr may need surgery and be out indefinitely. With the Saints at the 9th pick that puts a QB in the mix at their pick.

Can you confirm you can see this and no issues. If you can see this - you are officially on the upgraded forum and seeing our new server. We finished our server migration and upgrade today. I will note that you may run into some issues in next 24-48 hours as we are on a new server - so your computer at home or work may access the site perfectly fine while your phone doesn't (or vice versa). Just let me know if you are running into any issues. Additionally - if you want to test post on here just to make sure everything is humming along that would be awesome.

According to NFL.com, the Bears have signed C.J. Gardner-Johnson. Here is hoping he can give us a boost over the pedestrian efforts of our current DBs. Chauncey Gardner-Johnson signing is a reunion to help save Bears’ injured secondary

  8. So decent shot we lose our rb coach with Bienemy rejoining Reid and Mahomes.

I just read an interesting article on si.com stating there has been misinformation about CW's fumbling issues. We've been talking about his 30+ fumbles in three years of college. According to the quote below (I assume it is correct), he really hasn't had nearly as much a problem holding onto the ball as the good old internet pundits have cried. I will have to check it out. But if true, one less thing to worry about.

  10. Bears traded their two 7th round picks (239 and 241) to move into the end of the sixth and take this guy. Born in South Africa and grew up playing rugby. Seems like he progressed finally a bit this year. Wonder if he might qualify as an international roster exemption which can sometimes be useful with a late pick you don’t want to lose. Heard the show say he can maybe play inside and outside similar to Dayo and Shemar. Oh, and I’d say he’s a pretty good athlete . . .

Here are my stand out players who I think will slip into the bottom of the 53-man. OFF - TE - Tommy Sweeney 6-75, 1 TD - With Kmet, Everett, and Lewis not playing ST, I think they carry a 4th TE, and it would be Sweeney. He also has been a key contributor with several ST tackles. WR - Dante Pettis 5-98, 2 TD - I think Pettis ends up as WR5/6 and is the lead PR. He looks healthy this year and reminds me of his time in SF where he looked like a solid WR2/3. Like Sweeney, Pettis has ST value. That might get him on the roster over Johnson and/or possibly Velus. DEF - Edge - Hardy 10 tackles, 3.5 sacks - This dude has really impressed. He is everywhere…

Crazy to think these are the only teams the Bears lost to (see below). The worst teams are GB and MIN that play each other tonight. So the only one team that Fields lost to will go into Week 18 under .500, and 3 of those losses were the collapses. DET 11-5 (collapse) CLE 11-5 (collapse) KC 10-6 (early season loss) TB 8-8 (early season loss) DEN 8-8 (collapse) (early season loss) GB 7-8 (early season loss) MIN 7-8 (Fields injury game) NO 8-8 (Bagent) LAC 5-10 (Bagent) In hindsight, this looks a lot better than I thought. 4 playoff teams, with at least 2 fringe playoff teams, meaning only the losing team tonight was the only really "weak"…

https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/39731763/bears-reach-one-year-deal-ex-rams-center-coleman-shelton Hard to get a read on this. The big prize Connor Williams is still available and would be a great fit but his injury recovery really clouds the contract talks. Is Shelton gap insurance if we sign Williams? Is he gap insurance to help a rookie come up to speed?

  20. Started by Mongo3451,

Looking back at last years defense, I saw some really good pieces and progress. The opposite was also observed. As it was pre-described, the offense came on, slowly, as predicted. The defense didn't get that same grace. DA is known to run a scheme that is trait specific, while BJ's scheme is talent specific. In that grace, we made two intentional signings in Dayo and Grady. They being one half of the starting DL, rarely played together due to injury. Whether training did that is irrelevant, due to case hardening. Case Harding is a manufacturing term used for toughening, due to job specific repetition. We got that last year from 80% of our defense struggling through unity …
