The Bears game is on TV here this week. I got a nice HD and free OTA HD broadcast, plus a basement full of homemade beer. However, The games I have watched at the bar this year the bears have won, every game I watched at home we have lost. I noticed they are not cutting the grass again this year. For a speed team does this hurt or help us?

Was pondering the OL situation (probably the Achille's Heel on the Offense right now) the other day and came up with a "what if" situation. Since Pace is having a heck of a time at LT (and I know that is his "natural" position) why not switch him out with Williams? Obviously, Williams is going to eventually move back to LT, where he played in college, so why not go there now? Having Pace on the Right side would help Cutler out a bunch as when he rolls out he looks that way anyhow. in the last two weeks we have been man handled twice won a game that felt more like a loss than a win. where do we begin putting humpty dumpty back together.... I honestly don't know where to begin. Let's face this is a wreck of a team. When Lovie took over we had a strong defense and no offense. Over his time here his staff took over a talented defense and rode that to a Super Bowl. Now that that D has declined and an offense crippled by poor offensive line play, poor play calling, poor execution. The crowd unloaded on Tommie Harris when he walked off the field. What a douche bag. He will be suspended by the league and, if I was coach, he would be done on this team. Then at halftime, they unloaded again. What a horrible, pathetic display of football. Peace

This team is not going to the playoffs. They will be lucky to win 3 more games. Lovie Smith will not be fired. He has 2 years left on his contract at 5.5 million a year. They are not going to eat his contract. Knowing this, Angelo should sit down with Lovie this week and tell him if they don't win 2 of the next 3 games they should start playing some of the younger players. Gilbert, Moore, Iglesias, and Toenia all should see significant time to help them develop for next yr. Further, Gaines Adams should get reps over Ogy since he is more than likely gone. Tillman & Alfalava hurt from the secondary & Wolfe on O. With a short week coming up it's probably not looking good. AP at least is back but Vasher most likely replaces Tillman if he can't go. Who goes in at S? Payne?

Angelo has given us poor offensive line, 2nd class wr, d-line that is ineffective and bad drafts with Tommie and tank. Etc etc . Lovie lost the team with these ridiculous performances. Lovie tolerates turners poor performance. I think it's just better, especially with a franchise quarterback, to start fresh. New gm, new coach , new scouts, new assistant coaches. If Phillips was a real team president he should go too, but he is just a figure head.

What do you guys think and what would you do? On the plus side, he's a dumbass who has really been lazy the past couple years. Yes, he's played through an "injury", but he has skipped treatments in the past and just doesn't seam to get it. We'd also save money by cutting him as he's in a series of one year deals so there wouldn't be any cap rammifications, other than saving a few mill in current payroll (which could help the Bears cover the costs of firing Lovie and hiring someone else!!) I realize that we've already past the trade deadline, but I think its time to take a look at the future of this Bears team. One of the first names that comes to my mind is the wiley veteran, Olin Kreutz. Should we start to go another direction as we work on rebuilding our line? Could he be able to help us land an extra 3rd round pick in a trade? Would Josh Beekman (the so called guy grooming for the job) be a solid center. Essentially, should we trade Kreutz in the off-season for a 3rd or 4th pick, move Beekman to Center and than spend the money saved (plus whats in our coffers) for a big time tackle (or just find a real good RT if we think Williams can pla…

Just thinking out loud here, but Harris missed two games this year. He missed one game when the staff benched him, and another yesterday after his bone headed move. The two games Harris missed happened to also be our two most humiliating losses of the season. Now, when I have watched, I have seen VERY little from Harris. At the same time, I do have to step back and ask. Is his presence more important to this defense than we want to admit?

I'll focus on what could be changed right now to get the most out of our situation. Particularly looking at the future... 1. Jump on the nfo thought of moving Williams to LT, benching Pace and putting Shaffer at RT. Give it a whirl. Pace isn't going to be around next year. May as well start giving Williams the reps he needs. 2. Keep the offense similar to what Turner did this week. The change was working to a large extent. 3. Stop playing DB's so far off the LOS. OK, so let me get this said up front: I'm not giving up on the Bears after 8 games. They could still be anywhere from 12-4 to 4-12 (although god knows they look more like a 4-12 team right now.) However this season plays out, though, there are some serious personnel holes on this team. If you believe (as I do) that Lovie's keeping his job, this next offseason is going to be really key. OMGZ KYLE ORTON IS THA BEST QB EVA!!!!! HE WINS GAMEZ MAN!!!! Some things never change. He continues to stare down WR's and he continues to play like a** when teams blitz him nonstop. I hope all Denver fans are happy with their QB who maintains their lead but can never come down and win them a game against a real defense.
