I've been thinking about our OL almost exclusively, this off season. I'm thinking we have some highly tradeable talent on this roster that we can utilize to upgrade the OL. The reason I'm talking trade is because I want a rising player, not a cap cut or scrap heap player. Here's a look at our tradeable players. D. Manning - will not hurt us to be gone. Cap friendly for whoever may want him. R. Manning -Obviously already on the block. Cap friendly for us and may fill a huge need for a deprived team. A. Adams - Looking good for us, but we are deep. year after year after year after year- incompetent offense. Its so damn depressing. Then this year I watch some of the preseason games and the defense looks like crap, and with this draft it looks like the management blows. The only bright spot is special teams and that's even in jeopardy becuase they are trying to make a HOF return man a wider reciever because they are too imcompetent to draft and bring one along.

Just read that St Clair is set to start at LG this week. I have no problem benching Metcalf who has been awful. I mean, he has been worse than a one armed Brown. But is Beekman so bad that we need to start an OT at OG? W/ only two games remaining, it is obviously development and evaluation time, hense why Orton is playing. Either Beekman is so bad that our staff doesn't believe he is worth the development time or they simply have no clue when it comes to developing players in meaningless games.

I keep hearing the rumblings about the Titans taking Mariota #2. If they do, I wonder what they would want for Mettenberger? I would prefer him to pretty much any QB left in the draft, and he's the kind of big, strong-armed, pocket passer I would think Fox/Gase would prefer (see Brock Osweiler). If we don't think Cutler is long for this team, I wonder if it would be worth trading a draft pick for Mettenberger as a Cutler contingency plan and QB of the future. He was a 6th rounder last year (5 spots in front of Fales), but you can't get him for that now. I guess this hinges on how the new regime feels about Fales, but it seems like something that would be worth a call…

The Bears have proven over and over they cannot evaluate QB talent. Mike Holmgren has retired here to Arizona but I think the Bears should pay him to be a QB consultant for them in the upcoming draft and/or FA. Holmgren's track record finding QBs. Or if there's anyone else out there with similar credentials get him to help. We shouldn't sit back and keep hoping we make a good decision.

I have seen several draft trade scenarios and was going to give a post to list them. Everybody has viewed the trade for Wilkinson option. (which we wont be bringing in a 15 mil player) (not Paces style) Here is one I seen on ESPN; 5. Jaguars trade 1-5, Luke Joeckel to Bears for 1-11, 2-41, 4-104. We are looking for two new people to join the TalkBears $25 keeper league. This league has been going on for close to 10 years and is always very competitive. We use Yahoo and collect league dues with Leaguesafe. 1st gets $150, 2nd gets $75 and 3rd gets their entry money back. Currently, the keeper rules are you are able to keep any player as long as you drafted the player and they are on your roster at the end of the season, you didn't draft the player in the first round and you didn't keep the same player the year before.
