In case anyone was curious, Titans QB Mariota was benched in favor of back-up (and former Miami starter) Ryan Tanehill yesterday. Many will say it was a lateral move and many would be right. But for me the interesting part is how similar Mariota and Trubisky are to one another. Not just by the 'eye test' but also statistically. Mariota started his career in 2015 (after being drafted in the first round that year and second overall....hmmmm). Overall his percentage completion rate (because I know we've used that as a measure in the past) is 62.2%. Saw a story pop up on NFL.com from an analyst on Thursday night football suggested Chicago should make a trade for current Charger back Melvin Gordon. He made a compelling point about Gordon’s versatility (think similar to Forte and maybe older version of Montgomery). This guy seems to be alone in his thoughts on Gordon becoming a Bear (at least for now). In looking for some corroborating stories it appears there was some similar talk last July/August. Some Bye Week fun, I was thinking about the Anthony Miller draft-day trade; at first when it occurred, I thought Pace had the right idea, we would get a WR a year early with the following year's WR corps looking fairly weak (even though we got Ridley in the 4th). The injury bug is hitting harder then last year.

Looks like Gabriel, Nichols, and Larsen all practiced today. Trubisky threw and did not have a pitch count, so that's a good sign. Nagy didn't have much on Hicks, so I am assuming he is gone until mid-December at the earliest. Long definitely confirmed to be on IR for the season.

I have a feeling the Bears will try to establish a run game this week by relying heavily on David Montgomery. This will be his chance to show the world that he can be the bell cow for the Bears. I see him getting 24 carries for 108 yds with a TD, one rec for 17 yds. They will want to get out of London healthy and with a W. That will get them into a bye week and a chance to recover.

Mack. Two tackles, one fumble recovery, one QB hit, no sacks. All the hype of Mack getting revenge. Gruden must be smoking a big ol cigar on the flight back. And as many double, triple, and quad teams Mack gets every game, is it me or does he seem to fade in the fourth quarter?

Right now we sit a game back of the Packers and a half-game behind the Lions. Detroit has yet to play a divisional game, so we will see how they compare to the rest of the division starting this week. The Lions also play the Vikings and us in their next 5 games, so those games will be very important in terms of playoff chances. Just a dumb mans opinion. Offense- D No where do I see anything that I can hang my hat on going forward. QB play has been at best below average. One good quarter and the rest below average. I don't care about stats or other such things. The eye test is just sad. Neither Mitch nor Daniels look like they can lead a team to the playoffs or a long run once they get there. I am going through ALL-22 view on NFL GamePass and holy crap the Officials let the Raiders get away with murder. If Leno is going to get called for holding like he has, yet the Raiders could do what they did on every play, we are screwed. After five weeks, I've seen enough to point the finger squarely at Nagy. From not playing starters in preseason to be being the only coach to take his team to London that late, he is constantly showing that he is overconfident. Meanwhile the Raiders were 0-2 in London and decided to take his team earlier than anyone else did. What we see the next 11 games will also be on Nagy. Heading back from lunch. More to come later...
