Just for the hell of it...we're compiling a list of the top 50 greatest players to ever play sports in Chicago. I shouldn't really say "we're" as I'm only a submission, but knightni is doing all the rankings and all the work. Everyone submits a top 20. There is no criteria on what makes them the greatest....It's your own preference...be it world renowned, most popular, most athletic, most dominant...or whatever. As long as they're great players. There is no doubt Favre talked to coach Mike McCarthy about coming back two weeks ago, despite Favre's claims to the contrary. It's also clear through Favre's family and this report that Thompson doesn't want Favre back. The Gazette says Favre would have "un-retired" as early as May if Thompson had asked him back, but that didn't happen. Thompson reportedly isn't returning Favre's agents calls. This is all a little childish on both sides, but Favre can force Thompson's hand by being definitive about his plans. It's debatable whether he'll be willing to do so.

Is anyone else getting tired of the Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant comparisons? I could put up a ton of stats and anecdotal evidence that shows there is really no comparison, but it sure does seem to be getting more and more buzz as the years go on. Kobe's great, but he's nowhere near MJ.

There has been a lot of talk for years about crooked refs, and fixed games in the NBA. I have believed the hype for quite some time, especially considering I hate some of the teams that have won. I have varied thoughts on this, but basically I see Donaghey like Canseco. Both were called cheats. Both were proven cheats. Both said that others were involved. Both were dismissed as liars. Both were proven true. The only difference I see right now is that Canseco has much more proof than Donaghey, who only has the words of Van Gundy (who is now trying to deny those words) to back him up. All I can say is "DAMN"!! At the end of the Hawks series Derrick Rose said, about Gibson, "...that kid doesn't know how good he is..." If you didn't see the game live or any of the replays, amazing stuff. Go to You Tube, type in Taj Gibson and watch the video of him slamming on Dwayne Wade and later in the game when he did the "put back dunk one-handed". Incredibull!!! GO BULLS!!!
