  1. By 11th hour though...do you mean right before the lockout deadline, or do you mean right before the season would start, when the players start losing money?
  2. Depends on if you count no season as a season.
  3. The Brett Favre case has to count as part of their issues too. That was just a flat out mess.
  4. This has not been the most promising offseason/preseason for the Vikes.
  5. When you want to Embed video...there is an option labeled "HTML Off" at the bottom of the posting window (or full editor) that you must turn to one of the HTML on settings.
  6. If your pass rush does its job that's exactly where the CB's should be.
  7. I can't buy that logic at all. No one will give a d*mn who gets the Bears to 13-3 but if someone gets them there then there will be rewards all around. Conversely, if the team struggles to a 7-9 record and misses the postseason, it won't matter if Hester has a 130 reception season; people will lose their jobs as soon as there's a labor agreement.
  8. OK then...what benefit is it to Angelo if Hester is a starter?
  9. Can anyone tell me why Smith would be so insistent on Hester being a #1 starting WR even if Martz wants him in the slot?
  10. BTW, thanks for cleaning up the personal attacks guys. Much more enjoyable discussion followed.
  11. Don't forget about how important the O-line performance is for WR's, especially ones with speed that you want to get down the field. If your QB can't find time to look down the field and check his progressions, then even if your WR's are doing an excellent job of getting open, the QB won't have time to find them, and the ball will either wind up in the hands of a RB or TE on a checkdown because that's the only guy the QB has time to find.
  12. Folks...disagreement is OK, but calling each other stupid and retarded pushes the line of the site's rules and is just going to lead to more sniping.
  13. This is the first positive opinion I've read about the Bears' O-line so far.
  14. Moreno, the #2 guy on the list, was carted off the field a few days ago and is likely out most of training camp with a hamstring pull. I don't see how Kolb is a sleeper to anyone. The Eagles traded a multi-time all-pro quarterback to give him their starting slot.
  15. If his ankle is really bad, I wonder if they won't wind up striking a deal where he skips the first 4-6 games. The Vikings have fired back an offer for more money to try to lure him back.
  16. Didn't they draft a 2nd round RB this year? (although, just about any team would be SOL if they lost someone of AP's caliber).
  17. I'm sure I'll be wrong in this one somehow, but I don't buy that. If he's retiring now, he's doing so because it gives the Vikings 4 weeks of camp knowing that Jackson is their starting QB with everything geared to having him ready for opening day. The Vikes management may try to entice him back with a better contract offer or something like that, but that would be such a d*** move even for him to do that to that team...
  18. If he's actually 100% motivated, is there an OT in the league that can stop Peppers 1 on 1? If there is, there cant' be more than 1 or 2.
  19. If the Bears don't make the playoffs, it's going to be a mess, because who can you hire if the doors are going to be locked during the summer.
  20. I'll start this season off for y'all with some quotes.
  21. If people were going to one and not the other, I'd think about it.
  22. I'm sure the assistant coach salaries aren't so enormous that they can't be purged. The big issue right now is...why would you pay an extra million dollars for assistant coach hires for them to sit around while you're earning zero revenue during a lockout.
  23. As I always like to point out on these "future coaching issues"...don't forget the potential labor dispute when predicting how long people stay around.
