Where I differ with you is that IMO a leader does this off the side, not in the media. By calling out others in public it contradicts his comments on how he felt his contract situation was handled correctly, by keeping it out of the media and not distracting the team. Then he would turn around and use the media to "insinuate" negatives about his team mates, including 2 Pro Bowlers he plays next to?

In this thread most of us have been praising Tommy Harris for being such an outstanding "TEAM" player with great leadership ability and character. I agree. AND BECAUSE OF THAT - I think the whole idea that he is calling out his team mates, which would only cause problems in the clubhouse, ridiculous. If it were true, then he just blew his image I had of him.

If all 7 of those who said they wanted to play and signed up under the original thread join, I will still have 4 openings left. I just do not know which leagues will have openings. Right now there are 3 openings for League 1 drafting Saturday Aug 23 @ 10 PM Right now there are 5 openings for League 2 drafting Sunday Aug 24 @8 AM Right now there are 3 openings for League 3 drafting Friday Aug 22 @ 8:30 PM That is 11 slots to fill. 7 posters signed up, which slots do they want or do they want to withdrawl? I will let everyone know after the dust settles which leagues have openings and fill them. I will definately keep you on my list. It would appear that League 2 with a draft of Sun Aug 24 8 AM will need some players. I will be willing to fill 2 of the slots now while I wait for the 7 others to respond, leaving 3 slots in each of the 3 leagues for the 7 to chose from. You should have received an email from the site informing you there was a private message waiting for you. When you visited the site after the private message was sent you should have had a popup reminder of the message on your screen. You know what impressed me the most? The last 2 paragraphs of the story on the Bears website about Harris: When was the last time you heard a player say they do not think players should be getting the money they get paid? I do not think I have ever heard a player say that. Then the fact that the first thing on his mind is that he wants to make the Bears' organization proud. I think I will now finally go out and buy a new Bears Jersey. It will not be 54, although I love Url, it will be 91.

Getting Harris out of the way will allow the Bears to get Url's situation taken care of. I think one of the stumbling blocks for the Bears in trying to deal with Url was not knowing what it would take to complete the Harris deal. He was obviously top priority over Url because Url was already under contract. Now the Bears can step back, check their books, and see what they can afford to do to keep Url happy. This signing is another great move by the front office of the Bears. For a franchise who everyone likes to take shots at saying they are "cheap" it sure seems to me they do a mighty fine job of rewarding players for performance on the field.

This thread is replacing the original thread. Those who signed up in the original thread have been sent private messages asking which league they would like to join. I am still waiting to hear from many of them. There will still be a few spots open to sign up for even if all of those who initially signed up join. If you are anyone else is interested in these open spots, respond to this thread and I will fill the remaining holes in the rosters giving priority on the basis of who responds to this thread 1st. I hope to hear back from everyone who initially signed up on the first thread by the end of the week.

Seems like our past 1st round draft busts are lining up to take shots. Salaam, Haynes, who next, Enis & McNown? Give me a break.

I am still optimistic. If we can stay healthy on defense, we will be fine. With a healthy defense last year we would have made a run for the playoffs with one of the worse offenses in the league. I know there are a lot of question marks on our offense at this time, but really, how could it not be better than the garbage we had last year? I think we can easily see 10 wins and make the playoffs. How far will we go will depend on how healthy we remain during the season and how much the offense can contribute to a team that (if healthy) will dominate others with defense and special teams.

They have been set up with the same rules as the Bearstalk league I was in last year in all 3 leagues. However, once the leagues are filled, we can discuss with the league's team owners if there are any changes you would like to take place.
