I am showing on my Comcast TV Guide that the Bears game is going to show in my area on CBS (locally on comcast that is channel 5 WIFR) at 19:00. ESPN is airing NOS @ ARI I am sure NFL network will air it eventually, just not sure when.

  3. We might be surprised. I remember Lovie saying earlier that some position starters may play more extensively in preseason games than what they have in the past to give the staff a better chance to evaluate them. Of course, we know how much we can believe "coach speak" in preseason, LOL.
  4. Maybe with this coupled with Williams' back it will force JA to do as we all hoped and go out to the FA market ant pick up a LOG. I agree with many here, is Bentley Healthy? Is R Brown Healthy? I'd be happy with either one IF HEALTHY!

I would think with all the key positions on defense that we have in place, signed, and with good depth, that we will start seeing more and more offensive skill players and OLmen drafted in the future. This is obviously where we need to concentrate the next few drafts. IMO

Otah was never considered a LOT prospect, everyone was saying he would be a ROT. We needed LOT. He is currently working at ROT after having to sit out the mini camps with an ankle injury. It is hard to say, maybe he could have moved to LOT. Just never heard anyone say they thought he could do it. Now Branden Albert was a considered by many the guy we should have taken, saying he had all the skills needed to eventually become a starting LOT. However, if you check this out, you will find he is also out with an injury and may miss the entire remainder of training camp. Injured Albert could miss the rest of camp So I guess we just have to keep our fingers crossed and hope Williams gets back soon.

Seems like we are snake bit. The last time we drafted an OT in the first he was injured and never returned, finally leaving with an injury settlement and later resurfacing in Dallas. Let's hope he gets back soon.
  8. Talk about a distraction for the team, this is about as bad a mess as I have seen. Favre is the guilty guy, he has retired and unretired so many times I can not blame Thompson for giving up on the guy. If he really wanted to screw up his public image, he is doing an excellent job of it.
  9. Your killing me with this question. I am a big Mike Brown fan. I am a big Urlacher fan. I am a big Hester fan. I am a big T Harris fan. Those would be my top 4 Bears players. I am not sure if I can pick one over the other. I had a hard time trimming my list to 4, LOL. I guess if I had to select one of the 4 I would go with T Harris.
  10. Here you go - I updated it a bit: TalkBears Chat Room The old site for Bearstalk has been completely trashed. The link to the chat room can also be found in the drop down menues on the Pick'em site. DBDB is suppose to be adding it to this site.
  11. Another reason I am looking forward to this Thursday. We have all been reading all the press releases and debating topics like this one. I can't wait to see what we have on the field in live action against another team. No red-shirts, strap it up and show what ya got.
  12. Cincinnati - 10 - 6 I agree with those who have posted thus far. Palmer is solid, Rudi is dependable, they have excellent WRs, and a defense good enough to compliment the offense. They should do fine and win their division but I do not think they have the defense needed to go far in the playoffs. My guess is they never make it to the Conference final. Cleveland - 9 - 7 I disagree with the majority, I think Anderson is for real and will have another excellent year, Edwards, Stallworth, & Winslow gives him some great targets, if Lewis has problems, Jason Wright looked impressive last year. If their defense shows up at all, in the division they are in, I see no reason they are not good enough to get 9 wins. Pittsburgh - 8 - 8 They have depth at RB, but very little depth anywhere else and a lineup that is not getting any younger and has had injury problems in the recent past. I think Pittsburgh will take a fall this year. I see them starting to rebuild next year. They have to get some depth across the board and some youth. Baltimore - 3 - 13 See above for Pittsburgh and copy it over here but add the fact they do not have Big Ben at QB but will probably start a rookie, they do not have the depth at RB like Pittsburgh, and a defense that is really getting old and no where near what it was a few years ago. Their HC really sucks and shouldhave been canned years ago. New HC next year and a lot of rebuilding going to go on here for the next few years.
  13. LOL, I was thinking the same thing. I can't wait until Thursday (I know, don't have a choice) to see both on the field in real action to see how they do.
  14. Got this in an email to me, should be interesting now he is reinstated. GBP now have to make a decision. Until now they could debate, tomorrow he will be on their roster. Salary Cap?

I have to believe every team in the league would love to be in the contractual position we are in. I hope we never lose Cliff Stien because he works great with JA to get all of these deals done.
  16. and it should not make them any worse either. If I were a player getting booed, it wouldjust motivate me that much more. I still feel fans have the right to voice their opinions. Would I have booed him coming out of the tunnel? NO Would I have booed him if he had a rough practice, NO. I do not think I have ever booed a Bears player, even when they were sucking eggs. I am a rah rah type of fan. I might groan, cry, get mad as hell, but boo a Bears player, not me.
  17. Good point. I think the key to any draft is you have to multitask. You can not just keep track of your selections and needs, but if you are good, you know the other team owners rosters and needs as well as the draft progresses. This allows you to prioritize better. I also think the biggest mistake I see managers drafting their teams make is to be overly concerned about bye week conflicts on their roster. Heck, if every player on my roster has the same bye week, oh well, I may lose that one week, but look out the rest of the year, LOL.
  18. Hey guys, if anyone has gone through a draft this year, let's hear it, how did it go, who did you draft? I would be curious to see how you did. I am in 5 leagues so far, may sign up for more, with my first draft coming up on the 16th. I will post the results from all my drafts here and maybe you guys can give me some feedback. Don't be shy, let's see those draft boards, LOL.
  19. That would be a very solid draft but I agree with another poster who said MJD may be a bit high on your draft board. I would be tempted, if nothing better was left at that point, to go another position. I have been reading articles on Yahoo and ESPN and I must agree, it seems the era of stud RBs may be disappearing in favor of the RBC schemes that over half the teams seem to be going to. I use to go into a draft with one thing in mind, come out with no less than 4 legitimate quality starting RBs. Now, that will be tough to do. You only have a handful of RBs who will probably get 200+ carries this year. The number of such RBs have been going down every year over the past 2 to 3 years.
  20. AZ54 - Please tell me you were saying this tongue in cheek, you really are not serious are you?

No, I missed that. This kid works his butt off every year. Last year his leg strength improved on FGs and it appears he is still becoming stronger and better refined in technique. 67 yds, wow, and were not in Mile High, LOL.
  22. Pixote replied to Wesson44's topic in Bearstalk
Yes, 22nd overall. He has not had a chance to prove anything. I agree, he would probably require a first rd selection, (I doubt a team would give a high 1st, but maybe a mid to late) or, as you said, a 2nd + ???. That being said, let's sit back and see what the QBs do this year for us. I still think Kyle Orton has a lot more upside than many believe. I am now an Orton Backer in that I think the kid deserves to show us what he has to offer with legitimate preparation. In the past when he was asked to start it was always an afterthought. He never got the reps he needed because he was always carrying the clipboard. In his rookie season he did remarkable in that when drafted he was to again, carry the clipboard and be a 3rd string project. Then the kid was thrown to the wolves without much advance warning. I would have crapped my pants. I think he did an excellent job for a rookie. Rex may still be the QB we hoped, but hasn't he had enough opportunities to show us what he is or is not? Now it is Kyle's turn to step up on the stage. Can he be a "David Gerrard" type of QB and lead us to the Super Bowl? I think he can.
  23. If Rex isn't able to understand the frustrations of the fans in light of his ups and downs (more downs than ups) then he is not our QB because he is too stupid to be out there calling the plays. Hey, IMO opinion, the fans, who have been very supportive of this team, deserve the right to express their opinion, and one way for them to do that is to do as they did the other night and send a message to Rex. If ANY player does not want to get booed, he has two options, play better or quit.
  24. I think it is still up in the air as to if he will be on the PUP at the start of the regular season. He has been doing work on the side in individual drills but I am sure the Bears will err on the side of caution and not bring him back off the PUP until they are absolutely sure he is ready to go. My guess is he may miss the first week or two.
  25. I see him as a similar player to David Garrard of Jacksonville who seems to get a lot of good ink from around the league. I do not see Garrard getting ripped by anyone. If Kyle could become a QB in this mold, we will win a lot of games.
