    Birthday wish

Well HAPPY BIRTHDAY NeoBear!! Fess up, how old are you
  2. From what I found out at a site called Fantasy Football Today (fftoday.com) on a referred page to the NFL Draft Tracker the only compensatory picks we have received (going back to 1995) was in 2003 when we received 3 - a 5th, 6th, & 7th.
  3. I still say we should not rule out the possibility the Bears may choose to have 4 RBs on the roster next year, not unheard of, and we will just have to see. I do not agree that it is written in stone that Wolfe will never be a success in the NFL as a RB. I would like to see what Wolfe can do as a return man if Hester ever becomes a big weapon as a WR ala Steve Smith. If he becomes a top notch WR option, what would G Wolfe be able to do returning kicks? He reminds me somewhat of Dennis Gentry, a 5'8" 181 lb WR/RB/KR who played for us 11 years and was a valuable player in his role with the Bears.
  4. I look at it as we got Dan Bazuin (pick 62), Garrett Wolfe (pick 93) and ?????? (2008 3rd from SDC). Time will tell if that was a good deal. Too early to evaluate.

    THE DRAFT and FA

Here is a site I like for draft info, although not as good as Football's Future or Draft Countdown, Draft Daddy has a very good free agency listing.
  6. Phillips is one of few that I would like at 14 if a top LOT is unavailable. Otherwise, if the cream of the crop at LOT is gone, JA, Please trade down if you can find a GM willing to trade up for 14!!

    THE DRAFT and FA

I agree, I loved it every time a top underclassman declared for the draft. The more talent at the skill positions on the Offense and the more talent in the area of DL, LB, & CB that is present in the top half of round 1 gives the Bears a better chance of getting a top LOT. The only position I am immediately concerned about right now on defense is Safety. We should be able to get good value at QB, RB, and WR after round 1. Round 1 right now (before knowing what will happen after FA starts) is hopefully reserved for LOT.

    THE DRAFT and FA

I agree that you will likely have to draft a franchise quality LOT because unless you are very lucky and pick up a LOT in FA that has yet to prove himself and he turns it around you will not find a proven LOT in FA without giving up the farm for him. Now ROT, OG, & C are different, they can be found after round 1, but if we want that difference maker at LOT we better pray one of the top ones are available when the Bears select in round 1.
  9. Unfortunately, the Pack are very young and I suspect Favre will be back again next year. They will definately be a force to deal with in the NFCN. I just hope our recent success against them in heads up play continues to give us an advantage over them. My prediction, Bears win the NFCN with the Packers close behind and making the playoffs as a Wild Card in 2008.
  10. Good, that puts that to rest. Some brilliant minds in the college game never transition to the NFL with as much success and I think Chow is one of those in that category.

    THE DRAFT and FA

Well if we are going to play let's make a wish then why not trade that late round 1st we obtained when trading down and get a 2nd & 3rd for that selection? That would give us 3 2nd rounders and 3 3rd rounders, correct? Then we could add a top prospect at safety as well so that by the time the first 3 rounds are over we will have OT, OT/G, QB, RB, WR, Safety. It is fun to speculate and I am sure Angelo would love this scenerio however it takes two to tango and two GMs to make a trade and just as I understand Angelo wanted to do some trading last year with a few spots and was unable to find a dance partner, there is no guarantee that JA won't wind up a wall flower standing over by the punch bowl filled with Bears kool-aid and watching as the draft continues to play on.
  12. Yes, I am sure all Bear fans are thinking the same. I am also sure that the Bears' players are looking back as well. I am looking forward to FA and the start of some changes that I am sure Angelo will orchestrate to return us to the Super Bowl.
  13. Yep, NEP have a great thing going. The media will try to hype it up. NYG won 11 road games in a row, a record. They almost won against NEP the last game of the season. Eli is coming of age. They (the media) will put all kinds of spin on the game to keep the fires hot, but I think when all is said and done, NEP will win the SB. IF, and I say IF the NYG play a PERFECT game, they might keep it close, otherwise, blowout for sure.
  14. I would say if Rivers, LT, & Gates are able to play effectively the entire game SD has a chance to pull off an upset. I just do not think they will, especially Rivers, and Volek will not be effective against the NE defense.
  15. Since Dallas is being proclaimed "America's Team" and New England is getting so much hype, it is a shame we can't ship them off to play the game. (Have not checked the schedule so I do not know when they are do to play each other again). I am hoping the Bears are not exported for a game.
  16. Great to see you posting, should be a busy offseason on the forum with all that will be going on!!
  17. Yes, I saw him on the sideline and immediately wanted to see Dallas get beat. Never cared for them before Jones, liked them even less after Jones bought the team. You are right, I loved the look on his face when McQ intercepted Romo with 9 seconds left.
  18. It is great to see you back on the forum. You have always been an excellent poster and I look forward to getting your impressions on the Bears attempt to return to dominance. This offseason will not be as boring as last year. It should be very interesting. I am hoping all of our family of posters can reunite here after our forced exodus from Bearstalk.
  19. There is no conspiracy. He left to attend to his family. I respect him for keeping things in proper perspective. I wish the best for him and his loved ones.
  20. I agree totally!! Too many injuries & distractions (Briggs & Tank). I think he deserves another year as DC before we ride him out of town.
  21. Moss & Randel El are both 5'10", Berrian is 6'1". That would make him the tallest WR on their squad except for Mix, a young unproven 6'5" WR with 1 yr of experience.
  22. Great post!! Good points!! I agree totally!!
  23. I can not see AP leaving, period. He contributes in so many ways I think he is safe to stay.
  24. I am watching it now (will have to record it, have to hit the sack soon, early up in the am). I tell you what, some of those chicks in the Power Ball tackle better than A Arch did last year, LOL.
