  1. What the hell has that have to do with this? NOTHING! Players get emotional. I even acknowledged that immediately after my original post on the subject, but I'm not sure you saw the edit before replying. No issue with a player on the sideline showing emotion. Big issue with a player going up into the stands to sit in his mother's lap to cry like a f**king baby. Sorry, but he needs to grow up!
  2. He didn't cry in his mommy's lap! Yes, players get emotional. But to go into the stands surrounded by fans, sit in your mother's lap, and cry is beyond anything I have ever seen. (I remember seeing something like that when I worked with prepubescent boys playing little league baseball.)
  3. I had heard about Caleb breaking down and crying in his mother's arms in the stadium after losing a game. But now that I saw the video posted today in this thread, it makes me puke. Could you imagine him doing a Lambeau Leap into the stands after a Bears loss and having his mommy cuddle him while he cries, in front of a stadium full of fans, shown on the big screen in the stadium, telecast for millions to see? Talk about wanting to be the face of the franchise. OMG. He's extremely talented. But unlike many of the GOATS PHX tried to compare his brashness with, I don't ever recall any of them acting so immature after a defeat. No, it is not because he is so competitive. All GOATS are competitive. It is because he is IMMATURE! I was totally sold on the guy, now I am totally at a loss. (And let me add, I have no issues with a player getting emotional on the bench, or on the sidelines, after a loss. That is understandable. Going to have mommy hold you while you cry in the stands after a game is off the charts, IMO.)
  4. Last year, I chose Roschon as my sleeper to shine in 2023. I obviously was over-optimistic. However, I still think he is going to be an outstanding RB in the NFL and will eventually take over as a starter for the Bears. I like Herbert, but there is very little trade value there. It's great to have him and Roschon backing up Swift. The three together give us a very good RB combo, one that might rank in the top 5 before the season's end.
  5. My age and old-time values make me a bit of a dinosaur out of place in the Generation Alpha era. Being invited to the NFL Combine, being drafted by an NFL team, or even being signed as a UFA is an honor only a small fraction of aspiring football players can experience. If it were my boy who was given this opportunity, and he tried to buck the system to strut his stuff, I'd encourage him just to shut the f**k up and do as you're told. (Of course, he'd ignore my advice, as usual.)
  6. He could be right, but I swear that I remember other instances where a player refused to do the physical. But I could be wrong. GASP
  7. Poles & Flus are nailing it this off-season.
  8. Unfortunately, there is no guarantee that Allen will be here for more than one year. Let's hope Poles gets him to sign a reasonable extension. He wanted to remain a Charger but left because he would not renegotiate his contract. I can't see him giving us a discount. SO if Allen leaves after this year, we have to work on getting DJ extended, and if that fails, where are we? With such a potentially great WR class, I wouldn't mind seeing us draft 2 to develop.
  9. Sorry, I don't see it. Cringey? Really? Having a fiery coach on the sidelines or giving post-game interviews is entertaining. Ditka was fun, but actually not a very good HC. We should have won more than one SB with that roster. No excuse for a one-and-done. That said, mild-mannered HCs have been very successful. As much as I detest the Cowboys, Landry was a master. Flus kept the team together and motivated during a very difficult rebuild when the roster was stripped down to its foundation and rebuilt over the past two years. It's still a work in progress. The players bought into his HITS system, they bonded as a team, and it takes a true leader, a HC who has the respect of the team, to accomplish that. And yes, it's his first HC gig. He has made mistakes, but it seems like his on-the-job training is progressing at a remarkable rate. The finish of last year's slate of games was quite exciting. I saw growth. I felt hope for the future. So you don't like the guy. Fine. But I am happy they kept a promising 1st timer instead of risking hiring a new HC like Wannstedt, Jauron, Fox, Trestman, or Nagy. Hell, compared to some of our recent HCs, Flus is amazing LOL
  10. I'd love that trade as long as he used the #2 he received from Washington to lock in a quarterback he thinks can take us to the Super Bowl.
  11. I will try to find the review I mentioned. There is a short one on NFL.com, but that is not the longer tape that showed the play I referred to. On the play I am referring to, he had plenty of time to throw to a wide-open receiver around 10 - 15 yards down the field, more than enough to get the first down, but instead of throwing it to him, he ran right up the gut and got tackled. It's not a big deal; he is obviously an extremely good-looking prospect—I'm not denying that—but that one play took me by surprise.
  12. That's why I was questioning a trade down. We would still select one of the top three quarterbacks, but with the draft capital gained in a huge trade, we would have the resources to finish adding blue-chip players to the defense and offense.
  13. I have to go to bed, but I want to ask PHX a simple question. (I'll check back in the morning) I have no hidden agenda. I don't want to fight. I just want to ask a simple question to help me figure out where I am at with quarterbacks in this year's draft. One of many negatives you pointed out about Fields was his inability to pull the trigger on wide-open receivers. It was certainly a valid point, one that had me screaming at my TV more than once when I saw it happen during a game. LOL You even showed still images captured from the game film showing the wide-open receiver, circling him with red to be sure we saw him, even though Fields ignored him. (Or maybe he needed glasses, LOL) Then, when I watched Kurt Warner's review, he also showed toward the end a still frame of Caleb looking right at a wide-open receiver, beyond the distance needed for a first down. Caleb didn't throw to him; instead, he ran straight forward to be tackled at the line of scrimmage. Warner even circled him with a red marker, like you did with the image of Field's analysis. I was thinking, "déjà vu" So I know you watched this tape (I believe you said you did). Didn't this send a chill down your spine? Again, Caleb is awesome. But I have seen him miss receivers (even on his pro day tape) Fail to pull the trigger, and play hero ball. The kid will need to clean all of that up.
  14. Yes, I must admit I'm not 100% Caleb. Something tells me there is a hidden gem in this quarterback class. Yes, Caleb has awesome talents, but his shit stinks just like the others. If we draft Caleb, can we give him the support needed with such little draft capital? OR, would it be better to draft a player whose ceiling might be less lofty (at #2?), but because we got a huge haul of picks in the trade down from 1 to 2 (as an example), we would be able to solidify the OL with a top OC, add a WR to field with DJ & KA, a top Edge and a 3T (all within the first 3 rds) and still have an additional 2025 1st (or more) from the trade left over for next year. I have softened some on Maye, like Daniels a lot, but now I am beginning to look more at the kid from Michigan. For some weird reason, I am getting a bit concerned about putting a rookie quarterback on the field without a fully loaded lineup. We've seen how that works time and time again. And don't doubt it for one minute: despite many of us advocating sitting a rookie quarterback for the start of the season, teams nowadays seem to rush their rookie quarterback onto the field. Yes, Mahomes sat. Rodgers sat. Love sat (jury still out on him!) But will the Bears sit a rookie QB or throw him into action day one? If we are going to drop the kid into action right away, I want him to have a fully loaded squad, offense, and defense from day one.
  15. I totally agree. Every player who accepts an invitation to the combine should agree to a complete medical evaluation. No medical evaluation, then leave. (If for no other reason than the liability of having a player participate in the combine with a medical condition that could compromise his well-being.)

    What's next?

Yes, I was just curious about the shoes. I had never seen running shoes with those types of soles. Then, as usual, things get out of hand. Now we can see why we have lost so many posters.

Whatever turns you on, sweetie. 🥰 What color do you paint your nails, or do you use clear polish? 🤣 Sorry, on a serious note. I prefer my dress to be navy blue with orange highlights. Red makes me look too fat! If we shorten the dress, I can go commando and flash the grannies in the park! I might get lucky! 😘

    What's next?

Notice the shoes? I was going to say something the other day when this picture was posted, but God forbid I be accused of flaming. I am no expert on shoe trends, but are these designed for the vertically challenged? To me, it looked like the heels were built-in lifts. I never recall seeing a tennis shoe with a sole like that before.

I believe Mitch is back in Buffalo. Then I had some coffee. 😉 OK, Gotcha. Just woke up. Slow this morning. LOL
  20. Personally, I hope Poles resist the temptation to use future draft picks to move up. It's this use of future draft capital that has us sitting with what? 4 picks vs Detroit's 11 ? Put the Draft CC away.
  21. It's a message to all players on our roster. Be a Bear. Support your community. Support your teammates on the field and in the locker room. Work hard, give us 100%. (Justin did all of this!) If you succeed, we will reward you with an extension. (See Kmet & JJ) If it doesn't work out after giving us your best, we will do right by you. (Justin) That doesn't mean we can offer you an extension or pay you above market value. As a player you understand this is a business. However, if we have to part ways, we'll do all we can to make sure you land on your feet and are in a good situation that will offer you a chance to start over and continue to strive to be your best. Poles did what he thought was needed to give Justin a chance to succeed going forward. We don't know what he was offered for Justin by other teams or if there were any offers given. But I assure you, I do know that Poles gained the respect of the locker room by handling a very difficult situation in a dignified manner. BTW, You do know that if we draft Caleb, Poles will probably hug him!
  22. I could certainly see why Justin wouldn't want to hold the clipboard for Hurts. He'd maybe get one or two starts a year due to Hurts being injured. As far as Detroit, HELL NO, Poles don't want him in our division because, quite frankly, JF1 will eventually figure it all out and be an upper-echelon quarterback.
  23. Gosh, I'm at a loss for words. Warner, who's judgement I value highly, says Daniels is a great prospect. Mentioned how he could be just as successful as the last Heisman Trophy winner from LSU drafted, Joe Burrow. But, OMG, he doesn't turn his head! I just don't know what to think!
