I am not sure if he was any more responsible for some of the mess that occurred last year than others as well. Hester screwed the pooch many times for sure. Hester makes one good play then blows two after, ugh... I agree, Bennett seemed to pick up the offense a lot quicker. Really, think about it, all of these receivers are young, just getting to the point in their careers where most new players begin to excel (3rd year) and to me it is kind of exciting. Converting to Martz system is a bitch and for the most part I think these "peach fuzz" WRs did ok for themselves. This will be the true test, this year there are no excuses that can be accepted. Now is the time to kick ass or get your ass kicked.

It does seem ironic that you have a defense that is built for speed due to the system that is run, all you hear from the coaches is about the need for speed on this "D" yet we play on slow sod. Seems contradictory.

Thanks azb but I am sure there are many who dislike the Bears kool-aid I have a tendency to indulge in as much as I dislike all the sour grapes that are thrown around the forums. Makes for an interesting mixture, LOL. That is what the forum is all about, trying to sort things out with a mixture of opinions.

I thought you had been around long enough to know that TerraTor is to be ignored, sorry Terra, but that is the way I feel. Seldom does TerraTor have anything good to say about anyone or anything, especially the Bears.

LOL - You know, I personally was shocked earlier in the off season at the lack of love for Knox, I personally thought he did alright for himself last year and was developing into a damn good WR. Yet to hear posters on the forum, he sucked and did not even deserve a roster spot. I guess it takes a strong dislike for R Williams to swing things around. Now people seem to like Knox a lot more as they dislike Williams and want to see Knox take over the starting role. Sorry, but I kind of find this humorous and a bit ironic.

It would probably be one of those great conditional draft picks we would get in compensation, you know the conditional picks that we never seem to get anything from because the player traded craps out and gets released. How many times has that happened???

It is a "non" issue. Come on guys. How often has this occurred? If it were a situation that happened 2 or 3 times a year, year after year, then it would be an issue. Of all the years I have been following the Bears, before a few of you were even a twinkle in your parents eye, I have not heard of this happening before. It is unfortunate that on a season when time is of an essence and other events occurred causing interruptions in our practice schedule that it should happen but I do not think the outcome on one single game, preseason or regular, will be effected by this power outage.

I was going to respond, was not sure on the spelling of a word, typed it into a blank email form with IE OE, and found this: Thesaurus: English (United States) Pessimistic: TerraTor Negative Gloomy Distrustful Cynical Glum Unrealistic Actually found TerraTor listed as a synonym for several other words but do not use that type of language in public

My understanding is the Bears Special Teams will have the top two gunners in the NFL, Graham & Hurd, making their SP Teams even stronger.

Yea, let's bring back John Shoop, that will do the trick. Get real. Martz is overly confident and at times arrogant but he is a good OC and there is nothing outdated about his system. As long as he brings back the same offense from the second half of last year, where he mixed in a good portion of run, we will be fine, assuming, of course, the OL does it's job.

I like Knox. I feel he is getting a bum rap. I personally saw a different player in Knox last year than 99% of the posters here. Yes, there were some routes he missed on, it was a 1st year system that all of our WRs and out QB struggled with at times. He may have dropped a few but made many excellent catches diving and sliding and wound up with the most yards for a WR since 2002 Marty Booker. Say what you want but I like the kid. Now if he is snoozing in team meetings, quite frankly I am surprised he has not been cut. Lovie & Co. would never allow that to happen and just let it go lightly.

The problem is, every time an admin tries to step in, delete a thread, reprimand a member, we get criticized for censorship and people threaten to leave because of that as well. Somewhere there has to be a "medium ground" acceptable to all. To be honest, there are 2 or 3 that are wearing thin on my nerves but that is me, my personality showing through, and others may not feel the same way.

Here is the 1st depth chart relesased, I am sure there will be many changes. Interesting is the fact they have Hester 1st string PR, KR, and WR.

I have to believe one of two things are going on. 1) Hayden did not convince the Bears he is fully healthy when he took the physical 2) Hayden is looking for more money than the Bears are willing to gamble on so the Bears will see what the marketplace sets his value at If it is the first of the two, as Hayden has missed time from the lineup for 3 years running, we need to take a pass If it is a money issue, I suspect we will be seeing Hayden in our locker room as he will be of greater value to us as a cover 2 CB than any other team I see on his list of teams entertaining him for visits. Give him a contract with incentives around playing time and staying healthy during the season.
-
I hope this happens, to pick up a quality corner from a system that ran the cover 2 would be fantastic. He should fit in immediately and have a smooth transition.

I am not finding this on NLF.com. Where are you finding this info? Link?

Most had us coming in last in our division or possibly edging out Detroit for 3rd. Most penciled in Minnesota to win the division, and some even had them going to the SB, shows how much you can place on these experts opinions.
-
Exactly, You have to read between the lines. All coaches want to give their players a vote of confidence, however, it was at best a shallow vote as he admits if they screw up in the preseason games, changes will be made.
-
If he is placed on the practice squad, he will be snatched up within hours. If they want to keep this guy, with as much interest as there was in him by so many teams after the lock-out, they will have to find a place for him on the roster.

I was just kidding around, in your post you said "Hopefully 90 catches for 140 yards" when talking about Williams, I am sure you meant 1400 yards, but at 90/140 it would work out to a 1.55 YPC,
-
Talk about a piss poor YPC, LOL

And the name of a WR who never drops balls is ???????????

Knox had 51 receptions and close to a thousand yards receiving last year. This does not give him a little "love" from the board? I certainly do not remember him having "hands" issues last year. If anything, I think this may cut back on Bennett, although I do not want to see that either. I like what I am hearing out of camp about Hester and I liked what I saw out of Knox and Bennett last year. I think picking up R Williams was a good move, but it is going to be a tough call and like Gary said, it may be a rotational factor.

I have not heard of CT being cut either, last I saw they were gushing over having CT, MF, & MB in the backfield. I would not be surprised if K Bell or the kid we picked up from the supplemental draft, can't think of his name, has a good camp and Taylor walks, but for now I think he is still with us.
