  1. Maybe give Shaffer a look at ROT as well, why not? Also, lets get DA some time on the field and maybe Iglasis. We need to see what we have to work with in the future.
  2. If we only lose by 18 it would surprise me. I am expecting another "Cincy, A'zona" type of killing.

I have to believe there will be some house cleaning done. Unfortunately, IMHO, Lovie & Jerry will probably, do to contract commitments, are probably safe for another year. I do believe there could be a big shakeup under them. Possibly a new OC for sure. Turner's contract expires. The fact he is on his last year tells me something. There has been talk as to the possibility of Charlie Weis being released from Notre Dame. He was a kick but OC in the NFL. I would love to see him come on board if available.
  4. Maybe Ditka offers us his entire draft for him, LOL ;-)
  5. I'd love to rip you for being so negative about the Bears chances of winning this game, but unfortunately, I agree.
  6. There is an interesting article on NFL.com about Free Agency in an uncapped year and how it is not going to be lucrative for players and the new rules for FA that are involved. It seems to me it might make it even more difficult to obtain key FAs to rebuild an OL which is what we so desperately need. NFL.com Article on 2010 Free Agency with Uncapped Year
  7. I hope that I am wrong. I studied the game so long last night I had to use eye drops and sit in the dark because of eye strain. I honestly think the Bears are going to get their asses handed to them today. Our DL can stop the run (not an issue with AZ, they can’t run the ball) but cannot pressure the QB (big issue with AZ). Our secondary is ok versus an average receiving group, however, AZ’s receivers are elite. We for some reason have always had trouble covering RBs catching balls out of the backfield (Hightower has excelled at this). Our OL could not stop me on a pass rush. Our OL cannot open holes for Forte and AZ despite giving up a ton of yards against CAR last week (who has an elite OL) is still one of the top units against the run. On paper it appears we have a chance. I am usually the first in line at the Bear’s Kool-Aid booth but unfortunately when I went for a refill this week the booth was with a sign saying Out of Business. I suspect after this game, the Bear’s may be out of business also, or at least out of the running for a legitimate shot at the playoffs.
  8. Ok, I know I am going to regret my showing my ignorance by asking, but what is a/an STH?
  9. I love Gould's attitude. Great guy and a hellava kicker despite not having the long bomb as a weapon on FGs. He has seemed to improve on his kickoffs. I am not sure if this is backed up statistically but that is the impression I get when watching the games.
  10. Sounds like a great deal financially for the Bears. I am surprised Cutler's camp did not demand a longer and larger deal.
  11. M Turner was held to 30 yds on 13 carries - 2.3 yds per carry We are starting our 3rd MLB, we have been playing musical chairs with Pisa being injured at LB. We are rated # 6 against the run, # 14 against the pass, and # 13 in total defense. We have had a pretty tough schedule compared to many other teams. I think the defense is not as bad as many think.

That is a possibility I did not think of. We have lots of DEs, and if Gaines is truly worth a 2nd rounder next year, we should be fine with our rotation at DE. We have AO, Brown, Gaines, M Anderson, Idonoje... LB is a greater need right now. I do not know much about the LB being takled about, but if he would be an excellent starter for us at LB, pick your poison and trade one of the DEs.

Yes, I do believe we have a solid group of WRs. I like Knox, Hester, & Bennett. I think by the end of the year the perception of this position as being a glaring weakness will change. I am not saying we have a stellar #1 but I do believe as a committee they are no longer a weakness. Some teams have RBC, we have WBC, LOL. I have no idea what the Chiefs would take in trade. I was just throwing out an idea. You could be right, the Chiefs may not be interested.

The Chiefs are as bad off at WR as one can imagine. We have a solid group. Would they take a trade for one of our WRs? Maybe Iglasis (sp) or R Davis? I do not know what they are looking for in compensation in such a trade. I would prefer to trade a player before a high 2nd day pick.
  15. Gotta Love it. Cutler & Knox make a great combo!
  16. Bad Decision & Bad Pass by Cutler.
  17. congrats! Unfortunately, I got my a** beat bad, LOL.
  18. I question the move unless it is a precursor to another move. I do not see the reason for adding another DE that can get 6 sacks a year. We have plenty of marginal DEs capable of that. Why would we trade away a 2nd rounder for an underachieving high draft pick? Do we have another trade lined up for AO or AB to go somewhere else for a greater need? If not, I still question why we would trade for this guy unless I am missing out on something. I know little about about him except for what I have just read and his NFL stat sheet. If someone knows more than I do that would justify this trade please make me feel better and enlighten me.
  19. There are some teams that will be looking to trade good players for picks. I would not go for T.O. but if a team wanted to give up a good young OLman, hell yes, if the price was right.
  20. It will be interesting to see how it shakes out over the next few weeks. If you look at the unbeaten teams like DEN, MIN, & IND, their schedules have thus far been relatively easy. They will all begin to take on legitimate teams of much better quality and we will see who the pretenders and who are the contenders.

Quinn was bad, but there is no words to describe Burris. He appeared in 6 games in 2002 but only 2, weeks 16 & 17, did he start. In week 16 he went 8 for 22 (50 yds) comp 36.4% 1 TD no INT QB Rating of 60.0 In week 17 he went 7 for 19 (78 yds) comp 36.8% 0 TD 4 INT and QB Rating of 10.3 Thank God there was no week 18, I shudder to think what he would have accomplished, LOL.
  22. MIN plays BAL at home, Pit away, then GBP away in the next 3 games. I see them at 5-3 GBP plays Det at home, CLE away, then MIN at home in the next 3 weeks. I see them 5-2 CHI plays ATL away, CIN away, and then CLE at home. If we sweep, we are 6-1 and in first place. I think it will go down to the wire as to who actually wins the NFC North. We need to kick some ass!

I was just amused by watching him last night. Most QBs will bail out before taking a big hit, I understand that, but Rivers bailed far too early and could have at least gotten a few yds for his team. I remember watching on the sidelines acting like a little leaguer shouting at Cutler trying to rattle him. Rivers is an excellent QB but I have never liked his attitude, far before Cutler arrived in Chicago. It was no big deal. Just bored on a day off and thought I would mention it.

Anyone who watched SDC & DEN play in the past few years witnessed the matchups between Cuttler & Rivers and the verbal sparring that took place with Rivers calling out Cuttler saying he was a Pu**y. Well, looking at the games this weekend, Cutler mad a gut check TD showing he is willing to lay it all on the line for the team, and I saw Rivers take off up the middle when pressured and took a slide when a DEF guy got about 5+ yards from him allowing for no gain on his scramble up the middle. Who is the Pu**y?????
  25. From what I was hearing on the Score this morning the primary problem in our coverage was in the middle of the field which Roach was responsible for. Roach does not have the cover skills needed to be a MLB in a Cover 2 defense.
