How can you pass rush if the 5 yard slant and 5 yard out is open for 7-10 yards EVERY play? No pass rush is gonna get there in those circumstances. 3 step drops killed this defense last year and it looks like it will this year again.

I liked the passing game, except for the interior offensive line. It just seemed to me that after the first series when Olin left, the 3 interior guys were consistently blown straight back into the QB's face. I saw 4 or 5 plays at minimum where Beekman looked like he was on roller skates he was going backwards so fast. That to me is very worrying because we looked weak at the point of attack, same as the past 2 or 3 years. It looked to me like not much had changed. On the defensive side (I know this is an offensive thread but I am too lazy to start a new one) I HATE the fact that the CB's are still 7-10 yards off the receiver on every play. Same old same old, and I don't see us being a mediocre defense, let alone a good one, unless that changes, which with Lovie it won't.

I have Madden 11 and there is a distinct lack of the Bear Down song. Does anyone know if it is something you have to unlock? Or am I just not finding it to add to the soundtrack?

I just got Madden 11 on the Wii and while the Wii is not PS3 or anything from a graphics perspective, it isn't too bad either. The gameplay controls take some getting used to because it isn't press a button to throw or juke, it is make a motion with the remote; and the speed of the motion controls which action is performed, lob/bullet, etc. Once you get used to it, it's not too bad at all.

I still want to know why in the hell Harris and Steltz are even getting 1 rep at FS when they are both natural SS types and lack the coverage skills to play FS at any level above high school. It is assinine.

In my opinion a franchise QB is one that the franchise makes a large investment in...meaning that he is the franchise's QB for years or his failure sets the franchise up for hard times for years...based on that view of things Cutler is indeed a franchise QB...

I think Florio is right here...it makes no sense to let this guy rearrange the front office if he is part of the house cleaning next off-season because whichever new guy you bring in will want it set up his way anyway. Unless he takes over for Angelo as the GM...then it makes some kind of morbid sense...

As a very casual fantasy player I would say the Bears lack of an OL wwould make any of their WR a low priority until the later rounds. We will see how it pans out, but my gut says Bears WR's won't be so popular, at least in any early draft leagues. Preseason may change that for later drafts if our Offense shows anything.

Yeah I can't wait. I am stoked the USA team made it as the Americas 2 qualifier, though Australia and Ireland in the same pool will make it tough to get much farther.

Most hated player for me is Tommie Harris...the guy has all the talent in the world and is a major pissant Most loved player is without a doubt Payton. Like many others he is my earliest memory of the Bears, being drafted the year I was born. I love the guy for the effort and passion he gave the the team I love. Hated coach has to be Jauron. You talk about Ditka destroying a team? Jauron had one of the most dominant defenses in the NFL and he pissed it away because of a complete and total lack of a brain when it came to getting someone to run an offense. We had 3 or 4 seasons of very good chances to get to and win a Super Bowl if we had any semblance of an offense during his tenure here.

He forgot the standard company line in the bustle of trying to sell his super bowl tickets... In all seriousness though I hope the guy is as good as he thinks he is and our Oline improves, or this is gonna be a long painful season for Mr. Cutler.

I was not saying JA was stupid for the LeFevour pick as much as not addressing the biggest glaring weakness our team had. We all knew our only shot at a starting OL was the 3rd round and we got a safety, which was also a glaring hole. I am saying he is stupid more for the fact that he has basically ignored the OL in the draft for the past 6 years and it is showing in that we have very little if any talent to fall back on. 6th and 7th round picks are basically camp fodder and who cares, but the constant inattention has put our OL on life support...

I am amazed once again by the depths of stupidity that Angelo has plummeted to...after watching one of the worst OL's in team history last year he goes out and gets ZERO offensive lineman...Have I said how much I think Angelo sucks lately?

I still can't believe that as bad as our OL sucked last year we have done nothing...a 6th round OLineman isn't much of an immediate upgrade at all and I have little hope for this year if something drastic doesn't happen before the year...

I read that he was one of the worst rated pass blocking guards in the league, giving up like 7 sacks and 3 hurries...maybe the report that Trav posted from ESPN was wrong though.
