True, on our team he is probably instantly our best Olineman. Fair enough. I just read he has gone downhill fast and was the Jets worst OL last year so I was concerned.

Would he though? All reports say he was terrible last year...Would he really be worth it?
  3. He was one of the worst rated guards in pass protection last year...Not sure if he will really help us to be honest...
  4. Jets got him in the 4th
  5. Roach? What the hell has Roach done? He is a special teamer at best who if we cut tomorrow would probably not even be in camp with another team. And he is who you want to hang Angelo's hat on? The fact is our defense has sucked more than a prostitute on dollar day since our super bowl season, and there is zero talent to fill in positions of need on that defense. We gave up Alex Brown and have what exactly behind him? Nothing...We cut Nathan Vasher and have what to replace him with? Another scrap heap player in Jennings...At safety we have what? The point is we have very few quality starters on this defense and of the ones we have Angelo has drafted 4 of them only if you include Tommie Harris and Zach Bowman as quality starters to join Briggs and Tillman. Angelo's track record drafting players sucks. He is not director of pro personnel, he is our GM and that means he is responsible for the draft as well as FA pick ups. We have zero depth, very little top talent, and most of our positions are filled with hopes, prayers, and smoke and mirrors. Not to mention that we are relying on a staff to develop young players to contribute when past history shows they have very little capability in that area. I cannot stand Smith as a coach, but Angelo has done very little to help him in terms of bringing in talented young players to fill in gaps.
  6. http://www.suntimes.com/sports/football/be...mully19.article Since Angelo and Smith got together in 2004 27 defensive players have been drafted. How many starters last year from those 27? A whopping 4, Tommie Harris, Zach Bowman, Al Alfalava, and Danieal Manning...That track record sucks. I don't care what industry you are in, a 15% hit rate is pathetic. Now cue the Angelo supporters saying how great his late round special team gems are...
  7. I can do the entire NFC North if no one wants the puckers...I am sure there is a 7th round punter prospect I could take in Rd 1 for them...
  8. I can take the Lions. And if no one wants them I can do the Vikings also.

    No Thanks

Nothing is impossible to argue for nfo...
  10. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...he-trade-block/ I wonder what it will take and if we have enough, but the possibility of getting a young starting quality guard should at least be looked at.
  11. Not arguing with that at all. I was just answering the question of Indy cutting him or not. I personally feel he was signed so we had a body to fill in for Vasher not for any real expectations of him contributing too much.
  12. He was a RFA that did not receive a tender offer so we got him and didn't give up anything to Indy.

    Vasher cut

I would guess we wanted to have some type of vet replacement before dumping him. He was decent depth, just not worth the money he was making. Signing Jennings made him expendable. I think if we hadn't gotten Jennings or someone else, you would have seen Vasher still with us at camp.

    Dan... Manning

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2010/...ppy-with-bears/ Sorry to argue, but this sounds like he is pissed he was tendered an RFA tender instead of a longer term deal. I do not think he is "handling this in exactly the right way" at all, I think he is pissed off at only getting a $1.1 million tender and is staying away in protest. He can easily sign his tender, attend workouts, AND work with the team on a long term deal. Instead he is playing the "stay away and pout" game. You really think that is "exactly the right way"?
  15. My word...And here I thought the Denver alt unis were the worst it could get...
  16. Hey Terrance Metcalf was a 3rd round pick...
  17. "Not saying the DL was great, but I thought the secondary was far more at fault than the DL. Even when the DL would get immediate pressure on Farve, WRs seemed to have no problem getting open." That tends to happen when the cb's are 10 yards off the line of scrimmage every single play though...
  18. You just described D. Manning on almost every running play he was in on while at FS...Good thing we plan to move him to his 3rd position in 4 years, SS...I really don't mind Bullocks, he wasn't as bad as some of the safeties we've had, but I would prefer him to be depth and not the answer, which means that I am sure this staff will move him to CB or something
  19. He didn't get fired, he asked to leave and McDaniels let him walk.
  20. I hear he has a deal lined up in Miami already (Hub Arkush on the Score tonight said this while talking to a Denver journalist). The Denver journalist said that Nolan wanted out because McDaniels wanted too much control over the Defense and they were clashing. If that is true, there is NO way he comes to Chicago with Lovie forcing his scheme on his coordinator.
  21. Especially if he wins the last 2 games because the team was still playing hard for him...
  22. I don't know flea...it is kinda fun to read him express all our feelings after an embarrassing loss like last week...Almost made it seem bearable
  23. PFT has a story up that Shanahan is "very interested" in the Bears HC job, and will even coexist with JA as long as Shanny has final say...Not likely to happen though, and even PFT says that he is trying to drum up another bidder to drive up the price Snyder will end up paying with the Skins.
  24. Merry Christmas everyone!
  25. Billick was supposed to be an offensive genius...and his offensive teams in Baltimore were horrid...worse than the Bears type horrid. They won the Super Bowl because of a Defense he had nothing to do with, and then he promptly cut the QB and signed Elvis Grbac as his offensive savior...yeah, that reminds me a bit too much of the Lovie/Rivera/Babich love triangle...I personally think he would be a terrible choice for a head coach. Maybe as an OC, but not as a head coach.
